I come here from time to time. Usually find some cool things. Smells a little musty inside but hey.. it's goodwill... not a delicious eatery and so I leave it at 5 stars. Staff is nice and there are usually a fair number of people.. but the store is pretty spacious. Entrance from the street is a little confusion (from the side by the pizza restaurant) ... but parking is plentiful! read more

Since when does the Goodwill store not accept the salvation army clothing vouchers? So my experience in the store was half and half, some staff are super nice and went above and beyond for the customer. Others, did not meet expectation. One older lady was very rude, had the audacity to remove clothing from my basket when I was actually in the fitting room. Other staff, acted very unprofessional. The store didn't seem clean, it had a really bad smell. Racks seem over stocked. There really wasn't room to look through items. Store manager really needs to either be replaced or start working on the professional demeanor of staff, and the up keep of the store. Maybe the back room needs to be cleaned and organized so the store front is more accessible not jammed packed !!! read more

We came here on a Thursday and there was a lot of people here. The store is on the smaller side. It's clean and has a lot but I found the prices to be a little high. There was things that were okay but nothing stood out. They did have a decent book section. read more

Gave this store another try found some things I wanted to purchase but they don't accept $100 bills. Not legal in Connecticut to post a sign stating that they do not accept cash payments, including $100 bills. In fact, all retailers in Connecticut are required to accept cash as a form of payment. read more

Previously known as the Goodwill Boutique, this store has dropped the "Boutique". What a shame! I visited the store on a Wednesday at 3:00 pm. I drove from Wethersfield to this store in Glastonbury because I had wanted to visit this location. This is the most unorganized store. Clothing on racks, at least in the men's section, are in no order. Long sleeve, short sleeve, all sizes hung together. At first when I came across a 3X shirt mixed with the Small sizes, I put it in the proper section. It was impossible to resort all the mix-ups. It would have been easier to pile ALL the men's shirts on the floor and start from scratch. As I approached the Book Section, I was initially impressed with the number of racks, until I got closer and found almost every rack was labelled "Cookbooks", regardless of the contents. The prices were good, but it was not worth taking the time to inspect every shelf. The Houseware Section was neatly arranged and easy to navigate. There was only 1 cashier, which was probably all that was needed since there was no line waiting to check-out. As my 2 items were being rung-up, I reminded the clerk that it was Senior Discount Day. She said, "Oh, yes, I guess I could apply the discount." Overall the prices were good and you might want to spend an hour on a rainy afternoon there, but I wouldn't go out of my way (again). THOUGHT: Could they get high school volunteers who have to do Community Service to come in one day and organize the merchandise? read more

Have not shopped here for over seven or eight years! Went today, and loved the new storefronts and awnings. I bought three paperbacks, total at register $2. I looked at everything, and didn't bring any new outfits home today. They had two color tags with discounts.During the rest of the week, only one color applies not two each day. Had fun, as always. Lots of children shoppers today. Many beautiful lamps were being added to shelves while I shopped. Maybe I will return and buy one this week! read more

OMG - I can't believe it has taken me this long to venture to the Glastonbury Goodwill. Yes - it is located in Glastonbury and is considered a "boutique" Goodwill and during my "hunting" expeditions I have noticed that many of the items are on the higher quality side. BUT it does not mean that you don't have to search for deals - patience rewards those who take the time to go through the racks. For example I recently found a lovely Michael Kors sweater jacket for $5.99 and some new (with tags) scarf and hat set for $1. This store also sells household items in the back of the store and unlike some of the other Goodwill Store all the items are neatly organized and arranged for customers view. AND they have a frequent shopper card - that might be a bit dangerous for me since then I will have a way to justify my purchases! I have been in this store a couple of times. First time I had been in there awhile and thought maybe I was mistaken, second time I realized what was happening. The workers hold items in back for their friends or people who are resellers , do they get paid off for doing it ? Split the profits ? Tad smack of dishonesty makes one not want to donate to Goodwill . Maybe The Journal Inquirer would be interested in a story as it seems Western /Northern Ct Ken in customer relations does not seem to care. pretty disgusting behavior! read more

Goodwill Boutique in Glastonbury is Great! This very small Goodwill accepts the typical goods that Goodwill stores will take, however as Glastonbury is a slightly more affluent town, the goods are usually of a higher quality. I say usually, as you never really know what is going to come in the door. I like to drop in every once in a while and have found a bunch of designer label clothes that are a year or less old selling for $5-$10. I especially recommend their maternity section, as the same items hanging here can cost well of $40 each at the Motherhood store. As with all Goodwill stores, checking in frequently and giving yourself enough time to really dig is how to get the best deals. One time I visited and excess stock of BRAND NEW bathing suits (tags still attached) from Target were sitting there. You just never know. The clothing racks typically have better qualtiy and condition items than the home goods, but this is in my experience. Have fun hunting! read more

The prices here are too high!!!! I thought I've been to expensive Goodwill's before but this takes the prize. Too many things with special prices even if it's simply Talbots or cheap MK shirt. And found a purse that was priced $50 on the rack what???? And nah Goodwill's in general need to stop asking if you want to round up your change to donate. read more

I stopped in here the other day to have a look around. While I didn't buy anything, this Goodwill is well organized, and nothing smells weird or gross like you occasionally run into in other stores. It's a bit on the smaller side if you're looking for glasses or things of that nature, but they are fully stocked with clothing. read more

The renovation made the store much bigger and brighter, but clothes are still sorted more by color, not size, and the racks are still packed. However, if you are willing to search, there are good clothing finds. My favorite thing about this store is the large book selection. I always end up with at least one book from my wishlist for $1 to $3. Not a lot for kids, but more for men than most stores. read more

I always find the very best clothes! Semi formal dress for a wedding for about $12 the spring and then when I went back a week ago I found two floorlength formal dresses for seven dollars each. You just can't beat that!! read more

The parking lot is well-designed and I also appreciate their drop-off staff. Cheerful and strong peeps. We relied on this location a lot during a recent move, they do an essential community service in that aspect. Also as another reviewer mentioned, book selection is top notch here. Clothes are very hit or miss and in my opinion, absurdly priced. These places need a reality check. Who is paying 14.99 for a used polyester blouse, I don't care if it's Lucky Brand or some other well-established label-- when ROSS or Marshalls has similar or better, brand new, fully returnable and prices often quite a bit lower!! read more

I think Goodwill is over-priced with a lot of rags in the mix, where are the new items that are donated? I also hate your pricing system using color coded tags,I guess it's easier for the workers but not the customers.So I rarely walk out with anything but when i visit your competitor store its a different story,they get name brand items new with tags and offer great sales,where Goodwill seems to sell items of less than good quality and when you have a color code sale the selection is limited.I will be visiting today since you re-opened, maybe there is something afterall. read more

This location is a "Boutique" which seems to mean the donations are a little higher end. It's not all that different from any other Goodwill. I stopped in after a friend told me it was a good place to find some decent cheapo jeans. She was right. A quick scan through one rack and i found multiple pairs of Sevens, a pair of Juicy Couture (I thought they only made sweat pants with "Juicy" across the booty) and jeans from Gap, Banana, J Crew and my personal fave: Joe's. Alas, I am tall, leggy and impatient so I would probably benefit from a thrift store coaching session with Macklemore. I decided that nothing looked like it would be the correct length and perused the shoes. While i walked out empty handed, this place is worth a look if you have time to hunt through the racks. read more

Went to this goodwill yesterday and I had a great time hunting through the racks. There are sections that say they are organized by size, but I found my size pieces all over the place. Lucky for me, I had the time to go through the racks. The racks at the front of the store were all designer names, but I didn't find anything in those racks that were also in the 50% off color (yellow when I went). In the back of the store with the sheets and blankets, I found a stash of brand new target scarves with the tags still on them for $3 each! Also in the back of the store, I was super impressed with both their shoe section and the dishes/housewares. I saw 3 different pairs of BCBG shoes, but none in my size :( I also took my time going through the awesome vintage disses and sterling silver serving sets. I purchased an amazing picture frame that has 3D leather "petals" that was a great find for $4! I would totally come back to this goodwill- but only when I was in a good enough mood to brave the traffic through Hartford and 84! read more

Since their renovation in late summer 2016, the store is bigger and brighter but the selection is picked over. They have less nice boutique brands and just a lot of cheap big box store brands (Walmart, Target, etc.). Where did all the nice selection go? I think Goodwill ships them to their boutique stores in Manhattan and the locals can go jump off a short pier. Prices are also up $3 or more per item. Not as good as they once were. Sad read more

It should be called GREEDwill. The prices have skyrocketed and the merchandise is cheaper. So very disappointing. I love bargain and thrift shopping but ALL GREEDwill stores have changed. They put fake designer bags in a locked cabinet!! Not all are fake but many are. I've seen prices as high as $80 for a Dooney & Bourke! A used 1980 something Dooney!! WTH?!? It's smarter to spend that amount at TJ Maxx for a new one. They rip people off every chance they get. It's sickening!! Not only that, if you're shopping for clothing, get ready for a struggle. Everything is packed on the rack so snuggly that you cannot shop without breaking a sweat trying to find things. And if you have a shopping cart, don't even think about traveling the same aisle as another shopper because it's impossible for two to fit. Then there's the issue with Everything you touch falling off the hanger! And then they have the nerve to ask you to round up to the next dollar when you check out. NO!!!!! ALL GREEDwill stores now get a 0 star rating. Spend your money at TJ Maxx and get new, non-smelly items!!! read more

I frequent a different Goodwill about 45 minutes away that is much better than this one. This one has much less in terms of housewares (and nothing good) and the clothes are limited. The other thing is that NONE of clothes I looked at were in the right size areas!!! There were smalls in the XL's and the reverse. It was impossible to find anything without going though every single article of clothing or just eyeballing the rack for a favorite color (and just taking a chance that it was your size). I know customers could move things around but so much of it wasn't in the correct place that it has to be the staff restocking the racks that is the issue. Housewares...nothing but junk, lots of plastic cups and plates, etc. The other Goodwill I go to is filled with all sorts of goodies, antiquities, fun discoveries that you find when you move something to the side. Also, this one does not take the points card that the other one does. Ridiculous. The best Goodwills are the ones in northern New England (New Hampshire and Maine) and I understand them having a different card, but for two in the small state of CT, just 45 minutes away from each other not taking the card...it makes no sense. ALSO, the main reason I left and didn't poke around was the rudeness of the customers! I have never seen anything like this at any other Goodwill. No one made room for others to walk by, people left their carriages as placeholders in these really skinny aisles...they abandoned them to hold their space and when you moved it to get by, they seemed to run back to the aisle, irritated. The people seemed to expand how much space (widen their stance) when you entered "their" housewares aisle so you couldn't get by. It was a quiet rainy weekday early afternoon, not a Saturday. What's up with that? It was consistent with every customer in this smaller, lesser-stocked Goodwill. I couldn't wait to get out. Got two good deals but wanted out...no poking around. Really odd. I'll stick with mine. I came her once years ago and remember telling myself to not bother to go back. I couldn't remember why so stopped by. Now I remember. read more
