Food Dude Likey Little Giant! Very easy to deal with, low stress, no pressure. Plenty of solid gear and a great bunch of guys (with a couple of chicks thrown in for good measure) to work with. Little Giant was awesome helping me with my photo shoot. I needed two articulating arms for a stop-action product shoot with water. I had no clue what was out there. Jesse was totally helpful by listening to what I had to accomplish during the shoot. He found something called a Magic Arm and for the second articulating arm, he suggested a C-stand for stability. They worked incredibly well. Never having rented lighting equipment before, I was surpised to find the rental prices to be really affordable... $5 for each product per day. When I returned the equipment the next day, Joe was super friendly and mentioned more about what they had. Parking is easy as pie, especially with heavy eqipment to carry around. Have you ever seen a vampire movie; no I mean a good vampire movie; the kind that really fucks with your head, makes your Freudian dreams seem tame; the kind that makes you think, "ok, I know UFO's and dinosaurs come from people with vivid imaginations, but after watching this I bet the story of Vampires might actually be based off some real European cultish shit?" So you ask WTF does this have to do with LG right? Last year I was on location in the woods in the East Bay for a shoot lit by Mendoza and the LG team. It was a vampire short. I arrived in the Tilden Park parking lot and followed my location map deep into the woods where I discovered the most surreal set I've ever visited. LG turned the deep dark forrest into a scary ass light oasis that only the most skilled and talented lighting professional could pull off. I survived and if I ever win the lottery I know who to call to stage the most bad ass, scare your pants off halloween party. In my opinion believability, imagination and creativity makes a great movie and that is what LG will bring to your production. read more

Great experience with Little Giant. Called to talk about renting a spotlight for a fashion show that my girlfriend was doing at her shop, Pascaline Paris. Jessie was very helpful in recommending the right equipment. When I picked up the equipment the next day, people went out of their way to be helpful, despite the very modest size of the transaction. They checked all the equipment carefully, added extras like screens and a spare bulb, just in case, carried it to the car. And return was equally easy. When the first person went to look up the account, 2 other people stopped to make sure I was being helped. Good equipment, good prices and great people. I'm sure most of their transactions are 10-100x what they did with me, but no matter, I was treated like a big regular customer. Highly recommended. read more

LG, made our shoot. We were shooting an independent short and gave the staff our gear wish list and our budget knowing very well we couldn't afford all the gear. They were very welcoming to offering suggestions and creative ways to achieve the desired while staying on budget. If your starting out and are shooting smaller non broadcast stuff, there is no reason you can't approach these pros. Quit wasting time searching and cobbling together equipment and crew. Stop by and get taught while you shop. The rental house guys are all active in this small film making community. You will come across them again, so stop in and say hi now and push your production value. And for all you cinephiles coming out film school or are interested in working in motion picture you can avoid the owner operator shops like LG and head to other photo/video rental shops here in the city, but I guarantee you will be given the pertinacious attitude from the disgruntled staff.
