Great cut, listened to what I wanted, just an overall great experience. You can book your appointment online, which is nice. You don't have to play phone tag and then be sitting in front of your calendar to come up with a day/time. You just go online and pick one. I went to the Little Hair Shoppe when my hair had finally recovered (grown out) of the hateful haircut I got at FX. This place is difficult to find, because it is not a storefront. No where on the Cherry Creek directories is there a "Little Hair Shoppe". You have to go to the address and figure out how to get into the salon above the wedding dress store. And, once there, you have to look up Little Hair Shoppe on their directory to get the booth number. Anyways, when I finally found the place, Amy was great about asking me what I was looking for and making suggestions. I got a great haircut. FYI- You can get free parking if you park behind the building and ask Amy for a token. This would have been nice to know before I paid for parking down the street. read more

I was so excited to book a Brazilian blowout treatment after reading the great reviews online. After spending 20 minutes (of my 30 minute drive to the salon) in the car driving to my appointment I get a call from the salon owner telling me she'll be 45 minutes late. She called me 15 minutes prior to the set appointment. I am frustrated but understand things happen so I tell her I'll make it work and show up in 45 minutes. Less than 10 minutes later she calls me back and says "I have the worst news... I was sent the wrong product and am not able to do your hair today at all." I told her I was disappointed I spent an hour in the car on a weekend to be given very little notice that my appointment was drastically delayed then cancelled all together. I asked if she'd give me a 20% discount to return and reschedule on a different day to make up for the inconvenience and this was her exact reply via text: "What happened was not intentional and lost me money today with two clients. I'm a single mother and I'm not going to have someone nickel and dime me because of something that was out of my control. I'm not sure why you would pick a place to get your Brazilian so far from your home but that is simply not my problem that you chose to come this far. That was your choice. Please stop badgering me." I 100% understand crappy things happen and so do human mistakes but she handled this VERY unprofessionally with me. She took no responsibility for the fact she should have managed her time better and not unexpectedly realized she was almost an hour late AND she should have been better prepared and verified she had the proper materials before after the scheduled appointment time. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a Brazilian blowout. She has good prices but it's a HUGE GAMBLE OF TIME AND ENERGY. I was happy to find a better deal on Groupon. read more

I saw a Groupon Now deal to see Amy and did a lot of research before going to her. Based off of a few reviews on here, I decided that she must be pretty great, so I went ahead and bought the deal. It is slightly difficult to find the shop, since it is in a building with a series of other booths, but it's a cute place and Amy is very friendly and easy to talk to. I have recently moved to Denver from another state and I miss my old hair stylist a lot. I have had a couple of bad experiences with stylists here and I am very wary of trying another new one. While Amy is very nice and friendly, I wasn't very thrilled with my hair cut. She cut it much shorter than I asked for, which I am pretty sad about, since I am trying to grow my hair out after getting it cut shorter last summer. So, now I have to wait even longer to get the 5 inches Amy took off of my length to grow out. But, she did a good job cutting it and it seems to be growing out pretty well, which is a good sign that she gave me a good cut. It was just A LOT shorter than expected. My suggestion would be to make sure you are very clear about what you are expecting from your cut and to watch to make sure you are getting exactly what you intended. Seems like that happens with a lot of hair stylists though. read more

I have been going to Amy for the past 2-3 years. I have very thick, course hair and she always does an amazing job with layering it so that it feels manageable and light. She has a great aesthetic vision and never hesitates to talk me out of cutting my hair short because she knows I need the length of weigh it down. I always appreciate her honesty. I checked out Little Hair Shoppe, as my reg salon does not offer Brazilian blowouts or keratin treatments. The shop amongst a maze of mini salons, on the 2nd floor of the building. Amy was chatty, friendly and was very open discussing the services and products. (Quick to offer personal testimony or that of friends and also quick solicit feedback.) I opted for the keratin treatment in lieu of the Brazilian blowout, largely based on Amy's advice. It was only $50 for my chin to shoulder length hair and should last 4-6 weeks. NOTE: My hair stills smells like chocolate almost a week later. My hair is definitely easier to style. The first day and even after the first shampoo, my hair felt like a dirty mess. read more

On a whim, I tried the Brazilian Blowout and it's awesome!!! It's not a straightening treatment, it smooooooths, so don't get it confused with something it's not ;-) I have wavy, semi-curly, often frizzy hair and this treatment smooths it out and makes it easier to manage on a daily basis. I can style my hair more quickly than ever and it even looks presentable when air-dried. Sweet. It's like Amy gave me a little extra time in my day every day... I got this treatment about 3-4 weeks ago and it's still making a pretty big difference. It's supposed to last longer for "virgin" hair, which mine is not, but I'm still darn impressed! read more

I did it. I cut bangs. Well, Amy cut them. She cut them well. She cut them for a decent price. And I don't look like a 10 year old (although 20 would have been nice). Fabulous! Previously I've always taken my 5 year old daughter to those quickie hair cut places for kids where they show cartoons and cut their hair in 5 minutes. It's great for getting you in and out quickly but the stylists are really hit or miss. My daughter wanted her hair cut very short so I set out to find an actual stylist who did kid hair cuts. I found the Little Hair Shoppe and booked an appointment online. First off, it is a bit difficult to find the shop. It is upstairs from a bridal shop and then there are just a whole bunch of individual salons which is actually sort of cool. My daughter was not in the greatest mood and I was nervous thinking Amy was going to be less than thrilled that I brought my cranky kid to her but she was great. She was friendly to both me and my daughter and really listened to what we wanted, what our needs were, and all that jazz. She listened to my daughter too which is important - she is really good with kids. My daughter liked her a lot. She also did a great cut. My daughter's hair looks great and it is exactly what I was envisioning when we walked in there which is pretty impressive since I'm not that great at describing things like that. She is definitely a find. I'll probably give her a call myself next time I need a cut. read more

She often provides great recommendations based on my hair needs. I have crazy thick and often frizzy/wavy hair, and several years ago, she recommended the Brazilian Blowout, which is a smoothing treatment that makes my hair so much easier to deal with on a daily basis; therefore, I have had several of these treatments done by Amy as well as numerous cuts and colors throughout the years. My WORST HAIR CUT ever! She (owner) butchered my hair! My hair has been chopped Short and doesn't look anything like the pictures I brought in on my laptop and my personal hair magazine. I CRIED in the chair during my appointment while she was cutting my hair when it became apparent she cut one side shorter than the other and was going to have cut more of my hair to even it out! She asked me, "which side do you like better?" I told her I liked the longer side better. She kept saying, "I don't know what happened." "I don't know what happened." At one point, she even said, "maybe we should walk over to another woman for assistance." In addition, she had terrible time management skills. I told her when I booked the appointment, I had an appointment at 2:30. So, she scheduled me for 12:45 and said," as a New Client, we can review your hair style pics and also have time for your hair cut and be finished by 2pm". When I arrived at 12:45 she still with another appointment and didn't finish until 1 pm. I missed my next appointment! I couldn't walk out with my hair having one side shorter than the other. Once I realized I had missed my next appointment, (I asked her to use her cell phone) she suggested I lie and say "the clock was wrong". She has never ever Apologized!! She has never had any accountability for her actions. Unprofessional and Horrendous customer service. This was my First and Last visit ever. I will never recommend her to anyone for the rest of my life. I am praying for my hair to grow fast! My hair looks like a broom. UGH!! This has been such a nightmare and I am reminded every time I look in the mirror:( Furthermore, when I tried to redeem my yelp certificate, she said, "I have a better deal, I'll charge you $24 as a 1st time client." So, instead I paid $24 with my visa credit card. I have my customer copy of my credit card receipt. I have received a refund from Yelp for my certificate that I never redeemed. She should never charged me for my terrible hair cut!! I am requesting a refund from her on my visa credit card for $24 for my hair cut. I wish I could give 0 stars for this place. It was very dirty and I ended up with one of the worst hair cuts of my life. I have thick hair and asked for a cut slightly longer than shoulder length with long layers. I ended up with chunks missing from my hair, the two sides being uneven and the "Rachel" hair cut. Love, Love, Love this place! Free token parking, small shop inside a multi shop business in Cherry Creek. Free WiFi. I spend a couple hours there every 8-10 weeks and look forward to it every time. I came to Amy after a friend recommended her about a year and a half ago, and I will never go anywhere else. She always listens carefully to what I want, and when I don't know what I want she helps me figure it out. I also really appreciate that she is willing to share her expertise about what will likely look best on me. While I have no doubt Amy would never refuse to do what I wanted, she gives her honest opinion about my thoughts when I ask.
