Meant to eat half. So good I polished the whole off

Pretty good pizza spot tucked away in Killarney. Friendly staff and a real good Italian vibe when walking in. A small cozy place. Good lunch specials and the prices are pretty good for Killarney and the quality you're getting. Despite the pizza taking no more than five minutes to make I was surprised how good it was. It comes unsliced so you slice it up yourself w a pizza slicer. Pretty neat. The cheese and sauce quality is really good. Great ratio and although I wish the dough was a bit more cooked or a char at the bottom it was still good. It does have a big flop bc of that. I bet it heats up great for leftovers in the oven. But I'll be back to try more. Always on the hunt for great pizza in Ireland

I am visiting from NY/NJ and we have pretty high standards for pizza and italian food. Angelo the owner greeted us when we arrived and turns out he is from Italy and has previously lived in NJ! What a find. The Parma pizza was delicious as well as the entrees. He even gave us a tour of the pizza oven and kitchen. Do not pass this place if you need a break from traditional Irish food. 10 Stars!

Amazing authentic Italian cuisine! Wait staff (Debra the "Irish girl") amongst the owner from Sicily and two chefs from Naples bring a warm and inviting environment. The food is outstanding and the pizza is prepared in an impressive wood fired grill. The chef mentioned they use Ash wood as the fuel for the oven. Patio seating is very comfortable and they have cozy indoor seating as well with Italian music which makes you feel like your really in Italy! A definite must try for excellent Italian food in Killarney!

The antipasto is very tasty and highly recommended. The frutta di mare dish was alittle disappointing it lacked flavor and the prawns and mussels were small, considering it was the highest cost item on the menu they can use larger ingredients. We had a group of 12 and the place was not that busy during dinner, we asked the waitress if the chef can come out and see us so we could complement some of his dishes and she comes back saying we can stop by the kitchen on our way out! Really! We probably spent the most money that evening. Sounds like the owner chef needs some training in restaurant hospitality and the waitress lost an opportunity for a 20% tip. This is what happens when tips are not part of their compensation in Ireland. Anyway good food for sure.

Cronins sits on a Main Street through Killarney and feels like old world Ireland from the road to the table. It has a storied past in Killarney, being open over 60 years at this point. The space is as you would expect, cozy, local and welcoming. The menu is rooted in local ingredients including seafood, beef and veggies. We popped in for an early dinner and had an appetizer of the Smoked Irish Salmon, which was fresher than expected. Such a simple dish, but it was executed perfectly. For our mains, we had a burger and the Shepard's Pie. Burger was good. It was juicy, well cooked and the onion relish thing they had going on was *chefs kiss*. The Shepard's Pie was spot on. Both were made with local beef, which was cool and extra tasty! Beyond the food, Cronins also has their own cider, which was phenomenal and oddly enough, the only cider I had the whole time I was in Ireland! That speaks more to the hold Guinness had on me and less to the variety of cider. After the cider, we went with a few house cocktails including the Clover Club and Dingle Donkey. Both were well prepared, vibrant and tasty! Service was uniquely local, friendly and fun! From the bartender to our server, they were both excellent! Overall, Cronins is a stellar spot in a great spot in Killarney! When we get back over the pond and to Killarney, Cronins is on the list to swing by again!

My mother was also able to try the seafood pie which had large chunks of white fish spread throughout but balanced with a white cream sauce, she liked her dish as well. The place was packed which was a good sign and we quickly ordered our meals as we were starving. The Beef Stew came with three different servings of potatoes and from what I recall it was decent. What made this meal really exceptional was the dessert. Warm banana pie with delicious cold ice cream. Over the span of our 15-day trip in Ireland this was either my favorite dessert or tied as my favorite dessert for the trip. Also, this restaurant is in a very nice shopping area that you can easily walk and shop for hours in after your meal. As always people SYOY!!!

I had a cosmo which I feel was out the bottle, way too sweet for being freshly made, not that great but having had a 5 hour drive it went down nicely. Then onto the starters, Alex had the mussels and begin I the baked Brie. The Brie was lovely and perfectly complemented by the cranberry sauce - the cheese literally burst out of its crunchy shell once cut into which I loved. I also tried the mussels, the sauce was rich and tomato-y but the dish wasn't warm enough which made me a tad nervous. Huge portions though! Next to the mains, this is where if I could, I would give it a 3.5. The lam shank was topped with onions and a thin gravy and then cooked in pasty = lamb shank meets beef Wellington. It was great, the lamb fell off the bone and it was really well cooked and juicy meat. Served on a bed of creamy mash and fresh veg. The veg was slightly under cooked sadly but the rest of the dish, fantastic! I tried some of Alex's ham hock and that too was great. Really flavoursome and soft meat - if, however, your not a big fan of Dijon mustard I wouldn't recommend as it's literally covered in it! All of the above including a pint came to around £60 which for the size of the portions and the overall quality we were happy with!
