A lovely little Mexican restaurant in crawfordsville. The interior is very colorful and full of artwork. My go-to is their tacos or the carne asada plate. Everything hits the table hot and fresh. If you've had Mexican food in any big city it's hard to beat that authentic flavor. In the small town of Crawfordsville IN there are several to choose from. We happened upon Little Mexico and it was a pleasant surprise. Brightly decorated and family owned, the menu is large and the margaritas are good. So are the chips and salsa. I ordered the Guadalajara Special and it was very good. Too much but I liked the variety. Hubs had the taquito platter and he liked it. Juan our waiter was new and adorable. Everyone was so nice. This is a family ran restaurant that offers delicious Mexican food that really fills whoever who eats it, no matter what you get it will always join the clean plate club, and the many pieces of art on the walls really make you think you are in Mexico. The only bad part of this restaurant I can think of is the burritos covered in sauces, for example the chicken enchiladas I had had green sauce on it and made it hard to eat but I still smashed it. read more

Great atmosphere with bright decor and Mexican music. Tomatillo salsa on enchiladas verdes was spot on. Nuclear-green-colored margarita was tasty. Rice and beans were unremarkable. The menu isn't very flexible--for example, al pastor tacos are sold in 3s and it's not possible to get just one, although you can get just one of other kinds of tacos. Service was quick on a weekday. DOV -8/19 We stopped here for dinner after our son's swim meet. The decor is cute and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was excellent and very attentive. He brought us chips and salsa and queso dip right away. He was very fast with the drink orders too. Our food arrived quickly. My husband had the camarones ala diablo and said it was good. I had the super plato rico and it was tasty and fresh. The kids had corn dog and chicken fingers with fries. I liked it so much I went back twice!! I had the pleasure of stopping into Little Mexico during business trip to the area. I had heard about it from the staff at the Best Western Crawfordsville (See my Review). This local spot serves great food, its very colourful and staff there are fantastic. From the moment I sat down to time I left I was treated very well. The server took his time to go through the menu with me, and although the offerings are quite substantial, I decided on the classic Carne Asada, with an ice cold Carta Blanca. The meal came with fresh homemade nachos with hot and mild salsa, beans, rice avocado and the server added shrimp to my meal as well. Everything on plate was juicy, flavourful and tender. The sides very good as well. This is a family run restaurant and since they treat you like a family member there, my portion size was huge. I was travelling all day with little time to eat, so the size was prefect, and I somehow managed to finish it all. I was so impressed with dinner that I went back the next day for lunch. Still reeling from the previous nights exception dinner, I had no choice but to go for lighter fare. The good news is even at lunch, if you ask you can dinner size portions. This time however i went for a lighter meal. For Lunch I had the Chimichanga de Camarone. The portion size good for lunch, and the meal itself was very fresh and easy. If I'm ever in Crawfordsville in the future, I will be having at least one meal here. read more

I finally got to try Little Mexico after living in Crawfordsville for several months -- and being told over and over that I have to give it a try! We had a lovely lunch today. They brought out chips and salsa immediately upon us sitting down. We got an order of queso, which we enjoyed. We both ordered the fajita quesadilla with steak, which was delicious. My house margarita was so good! They brought it out with salt and were so kind about replacing it with one without salt around the rim (I know, what am I doing drinking a margarita without salt?!) but I appreciated that a lot. They adhered well to social distancing -- half of their tables did not have chairs at them, everyone was wearing masks, and they had a lot of signs with the rules posted. There is street parking in front, as well as a parking lot in the back with additional spaces. read more

Oh man-o-man do I like Little Mexico! Growing up near Crawfordsville, Little Mexico is one of the first real Mexican restaurants that I can remember. I guess it's true; you never forget your first... When I'm in town visiting family around dinnertime, Little Mexico is usually on the short list of places to go. Even though I haven't lived in town in over 17 years, I still run into people I know here almost every time I'm there, so the locals seem to dig it. I've always had great service, even when I get there during the rush, and the food always comes out spot on.. and I tend to mix it up and try new things here. It's you're pretty average Mexican restaurant in town. Did appreciate how they would bring out chips n salsa for each person when asked. Nice to have lunch Portions of items such as nachos. I like this place for lunch. Easy going. Decent value. I'd give it 4 stars there. But it's a mess at dinner. If there's any kind of crowd, they fall behind and the kitchen falls out. I had bravos nachos, which was just cheese sauce and lettuce and left over meats slopped on a pile of broken chips. Awful. Plus the most syrupy sweet frozen margaritas in history (i even up graded), they were terrible. Just sour slushes with a splash of cheap tequila. Sad to say it. I used to love this place. I certainly care about the owner and his family. I've eaten their food for 30 years. So I'll still say, a good spot for lunch. But now it's pretty terrible at dinner..
