Nature's Childcare staff and the entire business made me feel very comfortable with going back to work. There is video monitoring in each room (not viewable from my work computer, which I actually prefer) so if there is an event, it can be reviewed. The center is secure and entire staff is well trained. The management are VERY aware of what is going on in each room and the communication between staff and parent is excellent. Each room has 'Teachers' and they actually teach, which I am always impressed with. I now have three children in Nature's Childcare and wouldn't dare go anywhere else for childcare. As a parent, you want to pick a school/daycare that offer that uplifting, nurturing environment when your little one is not in your care. Claire, Jeremy and the entire staff offer that and more! Our little guy has been going for the last 2 years and our new baby will be starting in the fall. In the early mornings, we are greeted by Miss Maci at the front desk. She helps your little one get excited for the day with a sweet compliment on your little ones outfit and wishes them a have a great day as they walk by Miss Mariah in the 1 1/2's: She will hold and snuggle your little one to make them feel comfortable. A very calming presence to wipe away all their worries! Miss Allie in the 2's: She crushes the growth and development with your little one! Learning to potty train and help them with their independence. Our son comes home each day singing so many songs with hand motions. She connects so amazingly with the littles Mr Steve, the Chef helping their bellies stay full. Our son has special dietary needs and everyday our containers are always washed clean and dry and stacked nicely for pickup. He is extremely friendly and it is so adorable to hear all the kids yell Mr Steve when he walks into the classroom with the food. Miss McKayla, curriculum lead: We got the pleasure of working with her when she was a teacher in the 1's classroom. That is when our little guy started at KAM. She really does a phenomenal job with the material planning/arts n crafts for the kids to participate in. If she's not in the classrooms doing her observations, you might find her trying to rescue loose puppies outside :-) She has such a caring heart! Miss Sasha, director: You can count on her to notice every little thing about your little one. She is one of the first faces you see when you walk in and you immediately get the feeling that this is going to be a 2nd home that you little one will thrive at. From the very first tour at KA, we knew our child would be in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. The teachers and staff genuinely love what they do, and it shows in the relationships they build with each kid. As parents, you want a daycare and preschool that does more than just watch your child, you want a place where they learn, grow, build confidence, and are excited to go every day. Kiddie Academy delivered on all of those things. Our child developed socially, emotionally, and academically, and Pre-K program did a wonderful job preparing her for kindergarten. Miss Melinda was an absolutely amazing teacher! The communication is reliable, the facility is always clean and welcoming, and the staff consistently goes above and beyond to make every child feel valued and supported. I'm a single mom, and I chose this place not just to work, but to also have my twin boys enrolled so I could be closer to them. Sadly, what began as a hopeful opportunity quickly became one of the most toxic and disappointing work environments I've ever experienced. A teacher I initially trusted (my children's teacher) ended up mom-shaming me to my face and behind my back questioning if my children could sing their ABCs, count, or put on shoes, and even suggesting they weren't "smart enough" to be in her class (despite her own son being the same age). She pushed to have them moved down into my classroom and later, when I experienced a serious medical issue at work, she told others I was "faking it." What I went through medically was something beyond my control and deeply personal. To have it dismissed like that was beyond hurtful. I addressed my concerns respectfully and privately with the owner. Instead of addressing the issue directly, she sent out a vague message to staff about gossip but never followed up or took further action. ( which I asked for )That teacher continued to be unkind and unprofessional, including making comments about me not deserving donated diapers for my kids. I asked multiple times for a group meeting to resolve everything calmly and constructively. It never happened. I felt so unsupported, disrespected, and anxious every day at work that I ultimately quit even though I didn't have another job lined up. That should tell you how emotionally exhausting it had become. Before leaving, I shared my disappointment in the staff communication thread not to be dramatic, but because I believe people should treat each other better, especially in a space meant to nurture children. Instead of acknowledging the problem, my message was deleted, ignored, and swept under the rug. Since then, I've heard several more staff members have quit for the same reasons I did. Yet the same individuals who were creating the toxic environment continue to be protected. I truly don't understand why. As for the daycare itself the children are not in danger, and many of the caregivers genuinely do their best. But I do believe the classrooms are too small, outdoor time is limited (30 minutes a day), and efforts to reduce outside play due to "staff interactions" is not in the best interest of the kids. When teacher turnover is high and staff morale is low, that inevitably affects the children, too.

He had been potty trained for about 2 months before we started but with the change, completely regressed. But we were working on it, asking the teachers for guidance on how to handle it, etc. Our child came home telling me one day that his teachers (Miss Rebecca and Miss Beverly) wouldn't let him play at the station he liked because he had an accident (pooped his pants). But I just thought maybe that's just how a 3 year old tells stories... But then yesterday, I got a call from the school. He had another accident. Now we have extra clothes at the school and in the past the teachers have helped him get cleaned up and change his clothes. This was actually something we SPECIFICALLY asked about during our tour (how accidents would be handled, if they would help with wiping since he's still learning, etc and we were told oh, yes absolutely). Then yesterday I got a very rude call from their "director" Debbie who was angry that my child had another potty accident. She was not kind or apologetic but actually snapped "it's not the teacher's job to do this" ... But this "montessori" has 1 year olds as well. So they are a daycare. They change diapers. They had actually mentioned moving him down a class if we needed to when we started but that was as close as they ever came to working with us to find a good solution. *** And when we enrolled, we specifically asked about this and they said they would make him put on his own clothes but they would help clean him up. She then told me that I needed to come pick him up. When I got there, he was pulled out of his room and sitting in a chair, sitting in his own poop. His clean clothes were literally on the floor next to him that they refused to help him with. Because they were mad that he had an accident, they decided to punish him by making him sit in his poop. Three grown women thought it was appropriate to punish a three year old for a bathroom accident by making him sit with a turd in his pants until I could get there (and btw she initially left me a voicemail so they had no idea how long it would take me to get there or to even get their message).

At the recommendation of a colleague, we looked into Northview and we could not be happier. After months of hard-to-navigate online pre-k programs back home, we enrolled our son in the in-person program at Northview mid-year. The teachers and staff were patient, attentive and showed extra care in getting our son situated and back in the "groove" of attending school. We kept our son there over the summer, where they did an amazing job balancing active play and lots of outdoor time, with the right amount of learning to stave off the summer learning loss. Now, our guy is in Miss. Debbie's kindergarten class and we are so impressed, seriously... she is a child-whisperer. Patient, understanding, calm, smart, creative and loving. Miss. Debbie does a wonderful job setting up her curriculum to incorporate many Montessori principles while also preparing students to enter into 1st grade in a more traditional setting. Added bonus, the before and after school care that is still developmentally stimulating and fun! The size, access, communication and flexibility of the staff make this school a working parent's dream! Finally, while I know people are in many different places when it comes to things like COVID policies and masking, I appreciate the thought and care that Northview takes in constantly reviewing the latest guidance and working on ways to keep students and their families safe. For me, this has provided incredible piece of mind. In a time of a lot of change and chaos, Northview has been one of the absolute best things we've found in moving to Boise and we will forever be grateful for the foundational love of learning they have helped to spark in our son.

It looked like such a nice…read morefacility and it was so close to my home and based on the tour and what I was told by the director it seemed like very high quality care. After my 4.5 month old daughter enrolled we started seeing issues right away. -Before she started daycare my daughter never had any diaper rash at all. Her first day she came home with very bad diaper rash to the point it was almost blistering. After it healed over the weekend we sent her in again and she got diaper rash immediately again. We brought in ointment and had to talk to the staff several times about making sure to change her diaper regularly. -SAFE SLEEP: I've seen babies sleeping in swings with blankets over their faces each time I come in and when I ask about it they say they don't keep the babies in there once they go to sleep but there are multiple babies in the swings sound asleep whenever I go in. Also when I came and got her I saw she was asleep in a swaddle even though she's over 4 months old and rolling. -LACK OF TRANSPARENCY: Building on the above, when I asked one of the teachers where my daughter slept she told me the swing or bassinet. I asked my husband to instruct them not to put her in a swing during sleep when he dropped her off the next day and they told him they don't put babies in swings for sleep (even though I saw it with my own eyes). Then I asked them about it again the next day and they said they only put babies in swings to get them to fall asleep then move them within 5 minutes (even though almost every time I came in there were multiple babies sound asleep in swings or bouncers AND blankets covering faces). Then when I brought it up with the director she said some parents ask to put their babies in the swings and she allows it and she said that her training said it's ok to swaddle babies that can roll (it's not). -The papers they give with what happened during the day are never accurate, for example we send 2 bottles and they say she had 3 bottles (I'm terrified where the 3rd bottle came from - was it another moms breast milk?) There were other small concerns not worth mentioning but the whole thing felt like a bait and switch from my tour. I set up a meeting with the director, Miss Patty with the intention of unenrolling our daughter based on the issues we saw. During our meeting Patty seemed very receptive to my concerns and spent an hour talking to me about how if I decided to keep my daughter enrolled then she would make sure there would never be an issue again and it would be "a new daycare" when I returned. I told her I'd need to talk it over with my husband but that I appreciated her receptiveness. The next day i got a call from Patty saying that after talking to the owner (patty's sister I believe) they decided my daughter wouldn't be a good fit. That was fine with me since I came to that conclusion anyway but alarming that they think parents that look out for their child and other children's safety is not the right fit. To add additional transparency that I think is worth knowing, I later learned from a former employee that almost all the reviews for this place are from employees or family friends. Do not rely on them.

As a mother who works full time with no family in the state to care for my children one can see how this would be problematic especially with an 1800 month tuition for two children. As a nurse I understand illness and addressed this prior to being my children here and I was reassured they wouldn't be sent home every time they had a cough.. but this just isn't the case. The teachers have been really great to my kids and I can tell they love them very much and I appreciated that. I'm super dissapointed in the cold encounters I have had with both Patty and Ashley. They have a chip on their shoulder and treat parents as though they have done something wrong with how they approach issues with the kids and that's not how any parent would like to be treated. My boys are well behaved and well mannered and they are not to be looked at as a "problem" and it's not the environment I would keep them in despite the good experience we have had with their teachers. On more than one occasion they have been short staffed and the teacher to child ratios have been below state standards. They need not seem to be prepared when dealing with this type of business.
