Last 4 times I have tried to go here for the grill they said it was gonna take 30 minutes. No one waiting in the lobby each time. I don't know how they even stay in business if they want their customers to wait 30 minutes and over just to sit down I do not recommend this place any longer. read more

We ordered sushi there as well...that one was just oks i don't think they used sushi rice. The restaurant is casual. Food came out quick. Staff was nice. Would come back again. read more

First and last visit! Just 2 us walked in sat immediately, there was maybe 2/3 2tops and a party of about 10 people and only 1 server! His main focus was the big party and not anyone else! We sat for about 8 minutes before someone got our drink order he wasn't the server, big party got their drinks and their salads and was about to get their soup before the server finally came to get our order. Just as you think it can't get any worse it does!!! Soup goes to the party drink refills table bussed and entrees brought out before we even got our salads!!!! Soups finally came which took too long also, as he had a tray full for all the little tables, soup was luke warm at best! Salad and soup bowls remained on our table till we left! Now the party table is being bussed handed to go containers separate checks brought to the table closing out checks and the guy who brought our drinks finally brought our food out, food was barely warm, never got checked on the drink guy brought us boxes and our check. Worst service ever!!!! I hope he made a fortune off that big table cause he lost $15 from me!!!! 10 people or 2 people you never know what or if they'll tip but when you ignore me the way you did you get nothing! read more

Have eaten here numerous times in the dinning room. Service always good and the hibachi foods are excellent. I can't give a review on the grill tables as I haven't taken part in that. Portion sizes are very plentiful and served hot and quickly. A real gem in S. Knoxville. read more

This is literally my favorite restaurant!!! Definitely my go to anytime I want Japanese food. You can't go wrong with anything you order however if you like sushi, the French kiss roll is my favorite. The ladies vols roll is delicious too. Everyone is friendly, it's always clean and normally fast to get your food out. If you eat at the hibachi grill, they always make it exciting especially if there were kids at the table. I feel like they don't only give you a great meal but an experience as well at a great price. read more

My friend and I enjoyed our lunch the other day! Instead of the dinning room, we chose the grill room. By the time the chef arrived (with a mask) two men had joined our table grill. The chef was very creative and funny. Stag was attentive. The food was done to our liking. Having lived in Japan (and a bit spoiled to the style of eating) I was surprised and disappointed that they didn't have a " tatami room" (where you sit on the floor without shoes and eat at a low table), I do miss that. The chef & staff respected my food allergy and our food was done well. I had the scallops & shrimp (only 3 scallops was sad) and my friend had the steak & scallops. Me and my boyfriend came in to eat supper because he saw they had Ika on the menu, which is his favorite food. We sat in the dine in area (not hibachi) and had the best service we've ever had! I got the hibachi chicken and the teriyaki sauce on it was amazing, and he said his sushi was fantastic! We both had more than enough food for a couple more nights, and i love yum yum sauce. Without asking, our waiter brought 2 big cups with lids so i could bring some home with us. Will definitely be back! read more

In our ongoing search for a good food spot in the Seymour area, this spot was on the list to test out. We stopped in for an evening dining experience and wanted to share the visit (sorry no pics). Getting seated once arriving was fairly smooth, a good landing. With new spots we always approach the visit with a conservative ordering strategy knowing all too well things can go south quickly. We opted for one of the menu favorites of past customers .. the chicken, steak and shimp plate (we decided to share this meal just to be on the safe side). Here are the takeaways - so to speak .. Salad came with the meal - small cup containing iceberg lettace only drowning in dressing, a sad presentation. Clear broth soup cup came with the meal - barely warm and as my dinner partner shared it tasted like the instant broth pkg from Top Ramen :( Plate came with a large portion of food, rice drowned in soy sauce, chicken and steak in a sticky teriyaki sauce that covered every inch of the chicken (over cooked and dry), the beef steak and shrimp (2). We ended up thanking our lucky stars for splitting a meal as it was near impossible to stomach .. lots of sweet goo smoothering the real food - bummer. All in all, expensive for food that is sorely MIA in easy digestion (Tums worthy). Highly suggest you pass on this spot unless your taste buds are numb. read more

Take out | Dinner | $10-20 When I called in my order I asked for a shrimp and salmon dinner special. My husband gets home with the food and I have 4 shrimp and a tiny piece of salmon to go with two pounds of fried rice. I called to talk to a manager and was told that they had it rung in as a lunch combo and they wouldn't do anything about their mistake. This is the worst service I have had in a long time and now after spending nearly $50 on this i have to spend even more money on lunch today! I will not be ordering from here again! Saw the not so great reviews but decided to make my own decision. Wow do I regret that ginger sauce in salad was awful. Soup tasted like worn leather boot soup. Chicken was dry steak was alright. We ate in the dining room. It's quiet and cozy. We were seated right away on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, our service started off on the wrong foot when the employee who seated us didn't understand English. He told my wife that the red wine she wanted wasn't available, so we both ordered tea. When our English-speaking server arrived with the tea, she cleared up the misunderstanding. She apologized, took the tea back and replaced it with the glasses of wine we wanted, and everything was great from there. The menu is extensive. We both opted for Hibachi meals. I had shrimp and scallops. The food came out quickly, one course after another. Included in the meal, is soup, then salad, then the protein along with a side of fried rice and Hibachi sautéed veggies. My shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly, and there was plenty on my plate. It's quite a good deal for the money. Took our family of 9 tonight to celebrate daughters birthday. Food was absolutely amazing! It's like dinner and a show if you sit at the grill. Weekends nights are very busy, be ready to wait...but so worth it. Service was great, yes you may wait...be patient...its worth it. Chef made a special cooked rice "cake" and put a candle in it as we sung to her. Such a thoughtful, special touch. Onion volcano very cool. Hibachi Chefs are so great to watch. The service is good, the food is great, and the prices are even better! The hibachi chefs do a great job entertaining and interacting with the customers as they cook! I have been back a dozen or so times and every time it's been a hits with my friends and family! The only downside is the amount of time it takes to gather all the food for the chefs to prepare if you eat at the hibachi grill and not a table. Definitely a great place for a poor college student to eat! Pro tip: eat at the grill and you'll get a LOT more food than sitting at the tables read more

The Little Tokyo Café has the best take out services for Japanese food. My two son's order the chicken and shrimp hibachi for take out, the food was very tasteful with fresh flavor. Our to go order was ready in less than 15 minutes, it had lots of fresh vegetable and gourmet brown rice. read more

We had a delecious dinner on the grill side of their restaurant last night. We started will the Crab sushi appetizer. We also had several dinners of shrimp and chicken with rice for our entrees. Service was outstanding and the food was fresh and very nicely prepared. read more

Went here on Sunday November to eat at the grill however was a 20 minute wait. We live less than one mile from this location and have been eating at the grill quite regularly for the past couple of months. Since the grill was busy we decided to try the dining room and needless to say it was a horrible experience. We waited for over 40 minutes to receive our food in the dining room which wasn't busy at all. When the food arrived it was cold and the mixed vegetables that are supposed to come with Hibachi meals only came with 6 pieces of zucchini. if you eat at the grill, you get a full arrangement of vegetable, rice and meat. I asked the waiter about the other vegetables that are supposed to come with the meal and he went back in the kitchen and brought me out a small plastic dipping cup half full of onions. If you would like a good dining experience, eat at the grill. You will be very disappointed with the service and food in the dining room. read more

We chose this hibachi restaurant, because our weekly favorite was closed... And what a disappointment this was. There was an extended wait to even be greeted by our server and our drink orders taken. Our sushi sat out for a long period of time, and then we had to ask for it to be brought to the table. Needless to say, the sushi was warm and soggy. We never received our Eel sashimi and told our server, but we were still charged for it. Rude, unprofessional staff, with no level of customer service. Little Tokyo is Japanese cuisine restaurant and they offer take out, dine In, and wasabi style dinner where they cook in front of you. I ordered take out on a busy Friday afternoon. Busy means it's a good place to eat but I would have preferred the cashier to have told me I would have to wait 45-55 min to get my food BEFORE I paid... she told me after I paid and I was just stuck there. Honestly I would leave less stars. Very upset with our recent trip trying to eat at the hibachi grill. We came in and waited for 30 minutes while they tried to seat 13 other people at the large hibachi with us. At no point did they say that we were waiting for 12 others. At no point did they ask us if we wanted to place an appetizer while waiting. They didn't communicate that they were trying to sit 13 people, nor ask if we wanted to switch to the dining room instead. The lack of communication to their paying guests was very lacking.
