If I could add a few more stars to this review, I would. I wish I would have met Raschel when I got my first Boxer back in 2001. He was a good dog, but oh-so-challenging to manage. I honestly thought Boxers were a stubborn, high energy breed that were hard to manage, and that was that. He was a love around the house but boy would he bark at other dogs. One word to describe Raschel is "magical". In the beginning, I saw the magic happen when my girlfriend's dog joined our walks several years ago. It was amazing to see his transformation into a well behaved and loving dog. When we finally got our puppy, a Russell Terrier, I wanted to hire Raschel. I knew I was in for a dog that would have lots of energy and I wanted to start our puppy and the family on the right foot. Words can not express just how much appreciation I have for Raschel and what she does. I started training after realizing that I did now know how to handle the reactivity coming from my 3 year old chihuahua. Ruby would bark or growl at dogs walking by, she would growl at people if they got too close, she would pull on her leash during walks, and was scared to be surrounded with people in public settings. Raschel was able to help me understand the breed, Ruby's boundaries, triggers, and how to best manage them. My girl is not perfect. However, by doing all my "homework" of practicing the skills I've been taught, Ruby has learned that as her leader, I will set her up for success allowing her to be a calm, neutral dog. Ruby still has a long way to go and training will be a huge part of our life together but I can confidently say that she no longer pulls during walks. I can't say enough good things about Raschel and her training program. My dog, Tater, is 2 years old and mostly very relaxed, but he was pulling me all over the place on our walks and his barking was starting to be really disruptive. I'd worked with another trainer, but never really bought into her approach, which was mostly about MAKING the dog do what you want. Raschel's approach is so much better! She teaches you how to 'talk dog'--how to communicate your expectations for behavior clearly to the dog in a way that makes the dog want to do it. You definitely need to commit to practicing the skills she's teaching you, but it is so worth it to do that. After 10 sessions, Tater doesn't bark at home; our walks are really pleasant/he heels; and we have a much better relationship together. It's so much fun to be able to work with him in a way that's not punitive.
