My impression of LIttlefield's is one of confusion. It didn't help that my reason for visiting Littlefield's was to meet with a friend to practice our French. I was already attempting to think in French most of the time. Before our visit, I did my due diligence and checked out the website, Yelp, and Instagram. Their website doesn't show any menus. Yelp showed some delicious sandwiches, and Instagram showed some cookies so I kind of planned on finding those when I got there. However, when I got there, all I saw were trucks for tacos, ice cream, and snow cones. I didn't want to take forever looking for other food trucks, because my friend was waiting and I was still thinking in French, and afraid to ask for clarifications about other businesses. I considered a quesadilla from Veracruz, but the novelty from Veracruz has worn off, as I've had their food tons over the years. I turned to Besame, and decided on some ice cream and a brisket Kolache. The ice cream was served first, because they had to warm the kolache. I realized I may never have had Besame ice cream before. I ordered the strawberry, which was mildly sweet and tasted like real strawberries, with a crumble running through it. The kolache was ready a few minutes later, but when I bit into it, it was still cold in the middle. I realized they must have been reheating frozen kolaches. I don't have anything against freezing food - you should see my freezer at home! Still, it made it feel like an afterthought, and not a special treat to go out for. After ordering all this food, I gathered Cookie Rich cookies that I wanted to try may have been sold out of the Besame trailer, but there was barely any signage about it. The sandwich place that looked so good must have gone out of business. The real draw is their pleasant patio and yard. My friend had her son with her, and she thought he'd want to play in the yard, but he didn't. Speaking of her son... She ordered him a snow cone which came in a cute but impractical take-out-box style container. Warning for any parents trying to serve young children! Being August in Texas, sitting on the patio was only enjoyable for a short amount of time. Attempting to practice French was quite awkward when we got into it. I've never heard a toddler say they want to go home and nap, but we were both secretly relieved when he announced that! It might help to add parking is limited, but I at noon on a Sunday I found some street parking just across the street. I'm not sure if I was supposed to park there, but it was in front of a house with a "for rent" sign in front so I don't think I was inconveniencing anybody. If I were in the area and wanted tacos, ice cream, or snow cones on a patio with a playground, Littlefield's might be the place. In our case, Littlefield's was a bit of a flop. read more

Solid place to get a bite or sip while I'm moseying around Austin. There is a cozy parking situation and abundant street parking in the neighborhood. Veracruz and Besame have all the food and sweets for your selection, and there is a great turf of grass and field to let kiddos play! I stopped by Friday afternoon while my kiddo was at bike lessons by west Enfield park and walked over and was the only one there! There is no WiFi, so I had to tether with my cellular data, but the shady and sun makes this a great place to read or study and get some quiet time or just relax! Service was standard and quick getting a hibiscus tea from Besame, will def go for ice cream next time I have more time and appetite for sugar! read more

This place is surprisingly a favorite for my toddlers. I say surprising because there's really not much of a "playground" but instead an open area with a tunnel, trees, blocks, and a chalkboard. An open invite for running around and imagination play. We like to come for lunch, I will usually order from Veracruz and bring my littles lunch with us because she prefers her food from home. She can stay easily entertained for over an hour running around. I like that we can bring picnic blankets and lay them out. We will bring crafts and share with whatever other kids happen to be there. Only major downside for us is the tiny parking lot shared with the apartments next to them. Parking is very limited in their lot- make sure you are in a spot Actually designated for littlefields! read more

I came here on a Wednesday morning with a runner friend after running 9 miles in Tarrytown. The area has a nice patio and is dog-friendly. The area itself is however two food trucks: one serving breakfast and coffee, and the other serving tacos. My friend and I got 8oz lattes and the biscuit breakfast sandwich. My latte and breakfast sandwich together cost about $15, which I guess is standard for Austin but still pricey. To be honest, I wasn't a fan. I thought there would at least be an egg in the sandwich but the original sandwich consists of sausage, cheese, and honey. So without the sausage, I was just left with Kraft singles-like cheese and honey that looked an odd red color. The biscuits were super dry for my taste, so I wasn't a fan. I do like the space overall for meeting people over a cup of coffee outside. February in Austin is the perfect time to do such a thing! read more

While the space is very much geared toward families and young children with a large play area out front, the Vera Cruz tacos and Besame treats are for all. We went on a Sunday morning and it was overflowing with families. Only complaint was that waiting for food and drinks at all of the trucks was minimum 25 minutes. We ordered the tacos at Vera Cruz and they lived up to their reputation - definitely some of the best in Austin. Besame had delicious coffee and blueberry lemonade. They were also kind enough to let us sample their ice cream, which we will definitely be back for. read more

It's so cute! I went when it was a little bit colder but they had heat lamps out and it was fine. The workers were all very nice but my only complaint was that it was a bit pricey. We also had tacos from Veracruz, which were a little underwhelming. I think Veracruz's other round rock and downtown location are much better. This was a cool little spot near the UT campus to get some coffee while letting the kids play for a while. The place is quite small and got fairly busy by 9:30 am on a Sunday. The parking was also fairly limited in the lot but it looked like street parking is allowed here. In terms of food and drinks, we had some iced coffees, a cinnamon roll and tacos from Veracruz (the taco truck inside the same property). Overall It's your typical spread for a coffee truck type setup. In terms of layout, it was very nice to have the picnic tables at the edge of the play area so that the kids could frolic about on their own. Based on the signs at the location it looks like more savory options will be available soon so if tacos isn't your thing then you'll still have some stuff to eat soon! read more

We went on a chilly December day, but there were (surprisingly) still a good number of people there that morning ordering at the 2 food vendors (the sno-cones are out of season), sitting, and playing in the small green space. Lots of young families with kids. We enjoyed the coffee drinks we got from Fleet as well as the breakfast tacos from Veracruz. Wait times were reasonable, and it was nice to enjoy our breakfast by an outdoor heater overlooking the park. Littlefield's is an inner city oasis for families with young children. It checks all of the boxes: An enclosed and shaded (critical!) play space. Ample seating throughout the space. Also coffee and food options, albeit limited. The main downside to Littlefield's are the wait times for drinks and food, since it's basically one truck serving tacos and the other coffee drinks (with some savory bites) for the entire site. All in all it's a nice spot to hang and let the kiddos play while you sip your drink in relative peace. read more

Only a few parking spots in the lot, but a good amount of residential street parking nearby. The coffee is from Fleet, which is third wave coffee. I was pleased to find that the tacos are from Veracruz All Natural. We went on a Friday morning and there was no line! Order at the kiosk or through a QR code on your phone. I got El Tradicional, which came with egg, potato, refried beans, cheese, and bacon on corn tortilla- all my favorite items in a taco! The red sauce is spicy and smoky, and yummy! This is probably one of the prettiest coffee shops I've ever been to. It is an unexpected location in West Austin and it's tucked away just off Mopac. It has a beautiful courtyard setting and fantastic Fleet coffee. The barista I spoke to was very friendly and helpful, and gave me some tips about when it is quietest there at the courtyard. The coffee shop itself is a very small building with window service (like a food truck, but more refined). They have pour overs of the day as well as daily espressos. I had an Americano that was beautifully rich. They also have a small selection of pastries from Sour Duck market. There are two other similar little window-service buildings there, one that sells snow cones, and the other is Veracruz All Natural. I love Veracruz tacos, so I'll have to come back and have one when I'm not in a hurry. I will definitely be back as soon as possible! read more

It's right next to a neighborhood so expect children - there's a whole yard for children and dogs to play. Parking is in the street in the neighborhood. The coffee is fleet coffee, I got a mocha and it wasn't sweet enough for me personally. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good though. We didn't get tacos because the line was about 30 people deep, it was a Sunday morning to be fair. The design and plants are beautiful here. There will be kids. There will be dogs. There will be a long wait, and it will be pricy. I appreciate the concept of creating a fenced off area for young children to run around while the parents have coffee, but it was chaotic when I was there. At one point two dogs started fighting and knocked a child down two steps. If you can get there first thing in the morning (on a weekend) it's possible to have a quiet cup of tea, but within 30 minutes it will be hopping, within an hour it will be PACKED. People aren't sharing the large picnic tables due to the pandemic, which means you may have to stand for a while before something opens up. Found street parking and had a fun afternoon meal while my toddler played and explored. Our lavender matcha lattes were oh so creamy and delicious. Tacos were well-portioned but lacking in finesse. Veggie quesadilla was packed with veggies (spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, shredded carrots) and surprisingly, our favorite food order. Less one star because considering the prices, service should be better. We put in more than one order of tacos and had to input our phone numbers each time. Yet we never got a text when the food was ready, so our orders just sat in the window for awhile. I tried out this place with my girlfriend and dad for breakfast yesterday morning and it was a pretty good experience. I had passed this place several times and decided that I need to give it a shot. The property was what originally caught my eye and definitely the highlight here. It's a beautiful space, well designed and kept clean. Parking was a bit tough and very little available in the lot as they share with apartments, so you will probably have to get street parking a bit down from the place. I was coming here to try something new, so I was a bit disappointed when I came here and found out that they just serve other places food. They serve Veracruz tacos at one truck and then in the coffee shoot location they have Rosen bagels (limited options). I like both of these places, but was looking for something new. Also I felt the tacos I've had at other Veracruz locations were better. Overall, it was a good experience and I liked the vibe out here. Would probably come back sometime in future, but more for this than the food. read more

It's kind of a magical place. It is all outdoors but mostly shaded. There is a large area for kids to play on astroturf. The food and drinks from the two food trucks are really good. The seating is mostly under an arbor of flowering vines. There is very limited on-site parking. read more
