What a wonderful venue! We were a group of 7 who got tix on line to see the incomparable Justin Heywood from the Moody Blues. The theatre is large with very comfortable seats and nice legroom. I was able to drop my husband off near the front while I parked on the grassy lot. There were lots of people directing traffic. I also could have shown my handicap placard for an accessible spot. Security at the door were checking bags. The lobby is very spacious. Using a walker or scooter would have helped since it was so large. The acoustics were wonderful and I doubt there was a bag seat in the house. We had a wonderful time. Now that I got the lay of the land, I'd be inclined to go back for more great entertainment.

The Parker Playhouse is such a beautiful and intimate venue! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the classic charm and history of the theater. It's well-maintained, clean, and has that old-school elegance that makes any show feel special. The seating layout is great -- there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The sound quality is clear, and you can see the stage perfectly, even from farther back. It creates a more personal experience compared to larger arenas. The staff is organized and friendly, making entry and seating smooth and stress-free. Parking was also convenient, which is always a plus. Whether you're going for a concert, comedy show, or live performance, The Parker Playhouse is a fantastic

I recently went back to the Parker for a lovely evening out with my wife. We started off with dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (which is just a few minutes away) and then saw the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra. What a show! That combination of the beautiful theater, the stellar acoustics and that glorious big band music was absolutely delightful. And as usual, everything about the Parker was perfect. Parking was free and easy, the staff was super kind and helpful, the bathrooms were clean and the seats were extremely comfortable. We had a great time! Overall, still a very strong 5 stars. Highly recommended!

This is the best venue for entertainment in South Florida. The tickets are reasonable, the attendants are courteous and friendly, the seats are comfortable and it is a beautiful auditorium with great acoustic's. We are turning into regulars here seeing Neil Diamond review and the Motown show just this week and we have tickets for Paul Anka show this Thursday. WE also go to the Broward Center which is also very nice but I prefer the Parker. Parking is easy and there is also velar service. A great evening out.

On a Saturday evening I attended a comedy show at the Parker Playhouse. Free parking was accessible across from the venue in a dirt lot. Valet was also an option. Security was swift as I went through a metal detector. The ushers directed me to my seat & I thoroughly enjoyed my show. The auditorium was clean with pleasant view & acoustics. I enjoyed my time & I look forward to returning.

Tickets for show - received the next day.

This all started in July 2025. My friend and I clicked the Ticketmaster link on The Parker website to buy tickets for the Nate Jackson show scheduled for September 27, 2025. Unbeknownst to us, the link led us to a third-party site, StubHub. Of course, we did not know that until the tickets, or what we thought were tickets, were sent to our email address. Well, the show was postponed until February 6, 2026. Fast forward - I received emails from Chris at StubHub telling me to book my next tickets to see this person or that person. I was able to print out the email that had the ticket number and seats. Dressed and ready to go and get to The Parker, I was immediately pushed to the Will-Call window. The young lady in the window graciously helped us locate an email that has a barcode that allows the ticket to be sent to your Ticketmaster account. Another swift move out of the way (from a 100-year-old usher), stand here and call this number. There I stood, feet and knees hurting. On the phone with a StubHub representative who was not an American. I apologized for not understanding what she was asking me to do. She said she sent something to my email. I checked and checked, and checked again, absolutely nothing. The Wi-Fi signal was weak; my phone was searching and timing out. Search again and timed out. Now, the 70+-year-old usher says, "The show is starting." The email came through, but without a barcode. Do not pass go and do not collect $100. After 90 minutes on the phone and 40 minutes after the show started, we decided to go and have a drink. I mentioned the ushers' ages because The Parker gave them grace, but they did not offer grace to my elderly friends and me. You see, my girls who were with me that night are 70 and 75 years old. I am not tech-savvy, and Lord knows I was trying to retrieve the tickets for my friends. NO REFUNDS Shame on you, Parker Playhouse! Shame on you, StubHub!

Easily one of my favorite venues for a show. Comfortable seating, affordable drinks and snacks, a varied selection of performers, friendly staff, great sound and lighting. You can't go wrong with a show at the Parker!

Came in for the first time for one of my kids field trip. They had a science show. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The entire place look very, very clean and nice. Very nice experience.

We went to see Margaret Cho here. I love this venue because it is small so really no matter where you sit, you can see! My only major vice is the price of the drinks -although I guess everywhere the prices have gone up! The bartender, Bob couldn't have been friendlier and chock full of information. Told me howling the show was (90 mins); how long the opening act was (30 mins) with no intermission. The other issue there is no middle aisle in the theatre , so it is one long row from end to end...that's a little old fashioned and not great, if there was an issue in the theatre! You can valet ($25) or park on the grass yourself (which is what we did). All in all- a nice theatre to see a good program!

The Parker Playhouse, located in the picturesque city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a renowned 1,147-seat theatre celebrated for its intimate atmosphere and commitment to high-quality performances. Established by Dr. Louis Parker, a visionary in the arts, the venue has become a cornerstone of the local cultural scene since it first opened its doors on February 6, 1967. That inaugural night saw the curtain rise for the first time with a production of Neil Simon's classic comedy, The Odd Couple, featuring notable performances by E.G. Marshall and Dennis O'Keefe. The seating had ample legroom and unobstructed views, ensuring that we could easily enjoy the show from any seat. We saw a tribute band which was good, but the sound system was not done well.

I went there for an event- stand up comedy and it was great!! Staff was amazing and the show was great. I am not sure how it works if someone is trying to book an event there but it was a great place to visit. Valet parking was also available

Formal Complaint Against The Parker Playhouse / Broward Center for the Performing Arts - ADA Violation and $105 Refund Request To the Yelp Trustpilot Better Business Bureau Serving Southeast Florida and the Caribbean, I am filing a formal complaint against the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (EIN: 59-2657043), which manages The Parker Playhouse, for a civil rights violation and corporate negligence that ruined my guest experience. Business Name: Broward Center for the Performing Arts / The Parker Playhouse Address: 201 SW Fifth Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 Incident Date: September 26, 2025 Ticket Price: $105.00 Requested Resolution: Immediate refund of $105 for the ruined performance. Summary of Events: On September 26, 2025, I attended a performance at The Parker Playhouse. Upon arrival, I was unlawfully detained and interrogated by Ignorant uninformed unlawful Abrasive Guest Services Manager Ricardo Alfonso about my legitimate service dog. This conduct blatantly violates the ADA, which prohibits detailed inquiries into a person's disability or service animal. The interrogation caused significant distress and ruined the entire experience of the $105 ticket I purchased. Corporate Response and Refusal to Resolve: My formal complaint was addressed by Incompetent Unlawful Lazy Slovenly President & CEO Ty Sutton in an official letter dated October 28, 2025. Sutton dismissed my sworn account by claiming his office "could not corroborate" the violation, thereby condoning his staff's illegal conduct. This response reflects a troubling lack of accountability and negligence toward disabled patrons. No apology, accountability, or recompense has been offered. I demand an immediate refund of $105 to compensate for the performance ruined by staff misconduct and leadership negligence. I will not accept a credit or voucher. I trust the Yelp Trustpilot Better Business Bureau will intervene to fix ameliorate and secure positive resolution

Since there are only 4 rows of seats and the theater is small and intimate, almost any seat in the main section is a good seat. The seats are next to each other, so people sit tightly in this small venue. There are some side seats sometimes, but I do not recommend, since the angle of vision to the stage is not the best. Out of all the seats in the main area, I find seat B7 to be the best. There's a pole next to it and an aisle on the other side, so this is the one seat that is almost "private". The plays are mostly LGBTQ+ themed and based. The one I went to see called 10 Naked Men was not all nude. Actors stayed clothed most of the time, but the title sure got people excited about the show....LOL.... Hunter's the nightclub was kind enough to donate red and white wine as well as water for the show, so these beverages were complementary throughout the play. Not a strip mall stage wedged between a nail salon and a frozen yogurt shop. A real theater. The kind that feels like it was built for big voices, bright lights, and the occasional crowd singing along a little too loudly after a couple of pre-show drinks. That's the first thing you notice about the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Sitting right along the river in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the place just looks like it belongs there. Modern lines, big glass, clean design. But at the same time it still carries the charm and warmth you expect from a classic theater. It feels like a venue that was designed for nights out. Once inside, the layout works well. Sightlines are excellent. Whether you're down low or up in the higher seats, the stage is easy to see and you never feel like you're watching from a bad angle. But here's the one thing that caught us by surprise. The sound system struggles a bit when you get up into the higher seats. The speakers just don't quite reach that far with the same clarity, so the sound can come across a little muffled. Here's the pro tip. If you're sitting high, save the money and go cheaper on the ticket because the sound quality up there probably won't match what you'd expect from a premium seat anyway. The parking situation has actually improved. Getting in is easier now that they switched to the pay by plate app system. You drive in, park, handle the payment on your phone and head to the show. Simple. Leaving, however, is another story. Getting out of the parking lot after a show can feel like a bit of an adventure. This is where patience becomes part of the evening's entertainment. Give yourself time and don't expect a quick exit. We saw Darius Rucker last night, and even with the sound challenges in the higher seats, it was still a really fun night. Good music, a great crowd, and the kind of energy that makes live shows worth it every time. Here's the move if you're coming here. Go early. Grab dinner or drinks somewhere nearby. Walk over without rushing and enjoy the atmosphere around the theater. And when the show ends, don't fight the traffic. Take your time and let the crowd thin out. Do it that way and the Broward Center becomes exactly what it should be. An outstanding way to spend a Saturday night.

Volta has a grey big top tent and then they associate with lights so the tent changes colors which is neat to see at night time. The show is great for a girls night out, date night with a significant other or a day out with the kiddos. Just remember to find your free spirit.
