We would not recommend Litz custom home builders. We waited 13 1/2 months for Litz to complete our home. While we knew it would take time (they had a backlog) we never expected the lack of attention to detail or the poor communication. There we're exposed nails in many places on the roof. We asked that it be corrected and Litz sent a young man out to do the job. The young man tore shingles trying to remove the nails, and then just left. In the end we hired a roofing company to do proper repairs. Litz did not seem to care enough to see the job through himself. He sawed off doors for clearance, didn't smooth or paint the sawn areas. He installed the wrong doors. He installed the wrong thresholds in the bathroom doorways. The concrete on the porch and sidewalk cracked soon after settlement. He botched our showers. We wanted shelves and no niches, we got niches with no shelves. When we accepted some of his mistakes, he couldn't even say thank you. They left permanent marks on our expensive flooring. Many of the cabinet doors rubbed against each other and some of the sliding drawers were not installed correctly. They couldn't be bothered to sweep the debris from under the stove before installing it. Missing screens. We asked for the missing screens and he supplied them, however they appeared used and one was even damaged. We ended up with a fan in the wrong room because his communication person did not tell him we wanted to talk about the placement. In the end he began adding extras to the bill. $100 for a water line they forgot to install. $500 for a garage door opener (never discussed) and they couldn't even bother to put the bulbs in the unit. The basement toilet rocks, it seems like the flange is a bit too tall. Too many problems to list. We paid a high price for poor quality. Not the first house we had built but definitely the worst. His only concern seemed to be about getting paid. Please beware of this company. read more

Beware of this company if looking to build a house. They sounded very accommodating early in the process but nearing completion their communication went south and they decided to omit several agreed upon items that were in the contract. On top of the poor communication leading to them refusing to complete several items, They stated they would repair a few, soon after closing, but it Never happened and then they actually made up a bunch of lame excuses on why they wouldn't. They lied about reseeding the lawn when asked about correcting the landscaping. Initially they said it was on the list to be tended to when requested service in May 2020 and was told they would after Covid was over. Then when I asked again in October they said it was reseeded in March which is a lie as no evidence of seed on ground and wife never saw anyone putting down seed and never any new grass developed. Agreed upon a set of barn style doors for master suite bathroom, for $1900 upgrade/modification in contract, ended up getting complete garbage installed. Sliding doors are smaller than the door opening among other ridiculous issues. They came twice to correct them but ordered wrong sized doors each time. Finally the builder conversed with me via his worker's cell phone and would not try to listen to one word I was telling him. Instead of taking my advice and ordering the right sized doors, he continuously yelled and shouted me down stating you couldn't order a door that was taller than 80" and that " he was the builder" so he knew. Finally after it came to curse words on both ends of call, he hung up on my wife while trying to deescalate the situation. He then just left the two incorrect doors leaning against my garage without telling me, essentially leaving his trash/litter on my property. I called Lowes afterwards and within 5 minutes, I was quoted the correct width and height doors and a lead time of 19 days to deliver. Guess this builder is not as knowledgeable as he thinks he is and he belittled us in the meantime and wouldn't listen. Instead he has now decided to not complete the 1 year warranty items because he got his little feelings hurt. Now to arbitration or small claims court. Just think, this could be you if you go with a Litz Custom Home. Have fun. read more

I Victoria Williams and husband had our beautiful custom retirement home built by Litz Custom Home. We started the process in 2020/2021 during the hype of COVID. The owner Keith Litz and staff worked very closely with us in making sure Litz delivered the most beautiful rambler/rancher home with a basement in Hughesville, MD. I highly recommend anyone to have their home built by Litz. I can't say it enough about the craftmanship, professionalism and workmanship everyone displayed during the entire process.
