It's a great way to let go of life's normal stresses and meditate or try to rest your thoughts during your visit. I first tried out acupuncture after hearing from a friend that it helped her so much with stress reduction and relaxation. I thought hey, might as well try it out. I started back in October and have been going on the regular ever since. Heather is the owner and acupuncturist. I love her - she's friendly and sweet, makes you feel comfortable, and knows her stuff when it comes to any question you might have about your body and if acupuncture can help (it usually can). I always feel wonderful after my treatments and my knee pain is virtually gone now. Many health insurance plans allow for half price treatments for a certain number of visits, which makes it much more cost effective. Heather can answer those questions too. Also, the rooms are cozy and warm. You have the option to listen to soothing music, which I prefer to drown out other sounds and it's good white noise. She often has an additional heat lamp going. I believe it helps to accelerate the release of heat from whatever area is causing you trouble (in my case my knee). For those of you fearing needles, these are nothing. They are about the thickness of a strand of hair so you barely feel anything. What you will feel is relaxed and relieved of pain afterward. When I have a tricky spot that's been problematic, it will feel tingly as the needles unblock the acupuncture point. Trust me on this, it's amazing. I highly recommend it!

I really appreciate the Chinese massage that accompanies the acupuncture. When I leave I feel nice and relaxed and pain free. They do accept some insurances, so take advantage of that if you can. It has made the decision for me so much easier! Their location is also perfect for me - right off 104 in Webster. I usually make my appointments in the evening and can go after work on my way hope. Super convenient. Initially I was wary of acupuncture, but then you experience things in life that make you open up to something different. Dr. Bonnie starts every session with a brief consultation where she asks how I've been feeling, if I have any concerns or particular issues to address, and during it all she takes notes. She then creates a customized acupuncture plan to address my needs. The session lasts just over an hour. Dr. Bonnie also offers other services - I think she has a massage therapist who works with her, and they also do cupping - but I have only worked with her for medical consultations (to review bloodwork results and talk about vitamins and supplements) and acupuncture. In terms of the office, it is easy to find, right on Rt. 332 just outside the north end of the village of Canandaigua. The office is in an old brick building that used to be a trolley terminal. There is street parking in front of the office and also parking in the back. Inside the office there is a small cozy waiting room and there are at least 4, maybe 6, rooms outfitted with massage-table-type cots and side tables and chairs. Usually you meet with Dr. Bonnie in this room then get on the table for your treatment. I definitely recommend Dr. Bonnie for acupuncture, and also feel she is a great naturopathic resource if you are also looking for someone to consult with in addition to a western-style primary care physician.
