I can't say enough great things about this company. Before them, we endured a two-month long nightmare courtesy of the evil folks at Sears Home Warranty (PSA - please don't ever give them any money) and several other local HVAC companies. Absolute nightmares, up to and including my attic air handler torn apart and parts/equip strewn about my yard as a company left the work undone (after I waited for them to do the work for a month). I'd lost all hope of ever having working central air as summer heat set in on my family (including young children). I received four quotes from companies to come in and complete the job of the central air replacement. Not only were these guys one of the most economical, but also the quickest. I had a quote from them at noon on a Thursday. The project commenced at 830 am the next day and was done by 3 pm. Mid-way through the project they ran into an electrical issue (my hopes temporarily shattered again). In the matter of an hour, they'd called their electrician who came and completed the necessary work and left before I even had a chance to see him come and go. They are a professional and nice group of guys and came into the picture just as I'd lost all hope of anyone in this industry actually being professional and following through on commitments. From beginning to end of the installation of our new furnace, AC, humidifier and iWave, the team of Chris, Brady and Tyler were prompt, professional, knowledgeable and took the time while here to answer any questions we had. Chris provided us with additional information on what they were installing and offered us appropriate options based on our needs and the cost. His recommendations were very much appreciated. They also take time when they are here to educate you on important things to know about your purchases, esp. on the new WI-FI thermostat they installed and it's comforting to know they are just a 'phone call away' should we have further questions or issues. They were here for 2 full days and made sure to place cloths to walk on, wore booties and cleaned up the cellar area where they were working. They went above and beyond what we expected them to do so that our system worked properly. After spending 4 days in freezing temperatures and finding out that our furnace needed to be replaced, we wanted to find a better business to deal with than the company we were using. We found Live Free Heating & Cooling online and gave them a call to get a quote to replace our furnace, and needed it as soon as possible since we had no way to heat our home. Tyler was able to get to our house within 15 minutes of our call! He took down all the information necessary and got us a complete quote before the day was out, which was over $1000 cheaper than the other quote we received for an almost identical installation. He was also able to install the new furnace two mornings later. He and his crew were professional, friendly, considerate, and really cared. They put forth extra effort knowing that we were in a tough position not being able to heat our home in freezing temps. Their work was fast, clean, and they paid attention to detail. This past Thanksgiving weekend our 31-year old boiler started to become a CO generator. A friend of mine who is in the residential and commercial heating and cooling business in MA recommended that I call Peter at Live Free Heating & Cooling. Peter was at our home at 7:30 AM Monday morning. He took me through all the options explaining the benefits and costs for each. I had a price proposal by Tuesday and his brother Tyler showed up on Wednesday morning ready to work. Tyler and Brady had the old boiler out and the new one in the basement by 10:00. They then set about making all the connections. The boiler was operating by noon on Thursday. Peter showed up Friday afternoon for the city inspection and everything went well. We originally called Live Free Heating and Cooling because they had been recommended by a couple of different people. We were so pleased we did contact the company. We had a complete HVAC system installed with AC, as well as all new ducts, boots, etc. It runs like a dream. The owners, Tyler and Peter were incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, flexible, informative and excellent at all aspects of the job. We had to change the time frame for this work a few times because we had other contracts on our newly purchased home which ran longer than planned. The owners were very flexible and patient. They are extremely conscientious about safety with the use and installation of gas, and as a customer, I know I am in the best hands possible. My oil burning water tank went at 5PM on a Friday. After being told from the plumber that came to my house that they couldn't get a tank for a week and was left with just cold water ( $500 later ) !!!! I decided to go on line and look for other plumbers and referrals . I liked the comments on Live Free Heating and Cooling. My first contact was Jay who patiently worked with me all weekend and answered all my questions plus gave me a quote , which they don't normally do but I was anxious about the cost. Live Free was recommended by a friend. I called them because we wanted to install a new furnace and see if we could also install central air. They were at the house within 48 hours of my call. They reviewed the entire house with us. We were told that they could, of course, install a new furnace, and then to our delight, central air could be installed as well. We received a quote the next day, it was fair and we said that we would go with them. They started the job the very next week. They were so neat and clean, so respectful of our home. We have used the central air since the install and it was fantastic. I also had a Mitsubishi ductless system installed in my room that is located away from the main house. I love it!!! Woke up one morning to find out our boiler had completely broken down; leaked water all over the basement floor and started leaking CO2. Shut it down and called around to a few companies that morning. Live Free was the first to answer the phone and Pete was out that afternoon to assess the situation and give us a quote. During the worst freezing weather in the area, our furnace broke down. We contacted the company late Friday evening and a representative came over the first thing the following morning. Arrangement were made to have the furnace replaced the following Monday. Furnace was replaced that day. The level of service and professionalism we received was beyond compare! Had them replace an old oil tank. They were friendly, professional, did great work, and cleaned up after themselves. My only minor complaint is that they were scheduled for 8:30 and showed up around 10:30, which turned a half-day working remotely into a full day. A minor inconvenience.
