I recently had American Plumbing Heating & Cooling out of Bow, NH, to replace my hot water heater…read more While the onsite staff's workmanship was spot on, and they were amazing to deal with, my overall experience was soured by the gentleman handling inbound calls at their office. The company charged me $65 for a new drip pan that I never received and $250 for a permit that was taken out five days AFTER the service was completed--three times the actual cost of the town permit, which is only $75 in Amherst. According to the town's ordinance, permits need to be pulled prior to any work being done. It was only after I confronted the company about not pulling a permit that they attempted to backtrack and obtain one 5 days after the completion of this job. When I requested a refund, they informed me that I needed to have the town inspector come and inspect their work before they would issue a refund for the $65 & not for the permit. This inspection is not a requirement, with or without a permit, yet they are refusing to refund my money. While their onsite team did an excellent job, the dishonesty of the office staff puts a bad name on the company. I DO NOT recommend American Plumbing Heating & Cooling due to these deceptive practices.

Something lets go, there's the sound of rushing water, and the whole downstairs fills up with steam. It was so thick I couldn't even see a foot in front of me in the basement as my plumber, Darren Powers, talked me through on the phone how to shut the furnace down, and which valve to turn to get the water to stop. Man! What a mess.... Darren was such a help to me. Though he had been up since early that morning working a job when I reached him at around 7:00 pm, he came over as soon as he could around 9:00 pm and worked on stabilizing things until about 10:30 pm so nothing else would happen. Because it was Saturday, he wasn't able to come back until Monday after gathering all the parts and equipment needed to fix the furnace and burst pipe line. I've known Darren for years, and he's helped me on many occasions. Each time, he came as soon as he could, did great work, and cleaned up the resulting mess after. I've trusted him numerous times to come in to do his work even when I wasn't home. And he's always been more than fair with not only his prices, but also his time. It doesn't get any better than that. Thanks, Darren. You're not only a great vendor, but I'm glad to have you as a friend.

The worse Experience I have ever had with a contractor. He started a $9k job with me on a new home…read more He got his $2500.00 Starter check. He came and worked 2 days, (about 8 hours total). He said he needed a $6500.00 check to pick up the furnace. I gave him that $6500.00 and never saw him again until the day in court several weeks later. I had to hire a new plumber and it cost me an extra $8000.00 to finish the job. He lost the case in court and the court awarded me $ 8500.00 but have yet to see a dollar. He was arrested and we now have a new court date for him to make payments. Run from this contractor!

The owner picked up the phone (how often does that happen these days!) and after a few quick diagnostic questions, he set the service call for 8am the next morning - WOW! The service rep arrived on time, found the problem and had it fixed within a 1/2 hour. He was very polite, made sure to clean up after himself and didn't make me feel inadequate about something I probably could have fixed myself had I looked deeper into the problem for more than 2 seconds. Most amazing was the bill- I wasn't taken advantage of and actually found it to be a bargain. I will definitely be using these guys for my future plumbing needs!

Had Eastern Pipe Service do a pipelining service on our sewer pipe out to the street, which was…read moregetting clogged all the time the pipe was in bad shape there were lots of roots in it and it was about a 65' run. Alex and Joe were the operators that did the job very pleasant to deal with and professional. They completely cleaned out the pipe and did the lining service which came out great. I'm very satisfied with the project took about six hours and I have a complete video of the pipe from beginning to end after it was finished and it looks great nice and clear. Not all pipes are candidates for this type of service and I didn't think ours would be, but it came out fine and less than half the cost of traditional pipe repair. I highly recommend them.
