It ran a little rough for a couple months with no real issue but decided to get a professional to adjust the air and etc. So to start the tech who did the service over tightened the thread on the drawer assembly cross threading it and causing it to leak an insane amount two days after service. An emergency tech comes to tell me that it probably was like that from the manufacturer (even though it was running fine before the service and I personally installed and inspected the drawer assembly two months prior.) He proceeded to tell me that it would cost $500 or more to have it fixed... gave them the benefit of the doubt just to be ignored and blocked by them. After installing another drawer assembly, I thought all would be good. But the tech did not tighten the set screws enough and the oil burner had fallen out of place causing a bunch more combustion issues. Also had to buy a stand for the burner to prevent it happening again. The oil pressure was also jacked all the way up( I assume by the emergency tech because it was leaking) instead of telling me any of this I had to fix it on my own. I was going to let it go until I was ignored and blocked. I get companies have to make money but it's the bare minimum being honest. And if you were an honest company you would have helped fix the problem you caused instead of gaslighting me and saying it will cost 500-700$. Especially when the part is less than 80$ and takes less than 10 minutes to swap.

Our house had hydronic heat on the first floor, but electric baseboards on the second. We wanted to get rid of the electric heat, and solicited several quotes. Jay was great, discussed multiple options, but was honest and up front that the tech guys would have to come out to really evaluate the feasibility and design of the project. Good indication of integrity up front. Tyler, the co-owner and lead installer, came out several days later to do a more thorough evaluation. Extremely courteous, professional, polite, and accommodating. Highly knowledgeable as well. Explained all the options and designs, and their pros and cons. No sales pitches etc. Just the facts. Really made the effort to preserve the character of our older style home. When his team started working, all very courteous, professional, knowledgeable. Showed up with masks and booties to protect our floors. Worked quickly and efficiently. Tyler was there the whole time, welcomed any questions, described exactly what they were doing and why. The finished product is superb, and blends perfectly into the house. All the work was done with the outmost attention to detail. When we ran the heat last night there was a problem, it would not shut off. I called Tyler, he called me back within 15 minutes, and was at our house within a half hour. The problem turned out to be an old defective valve in the pre-existing pump (which he could not have known about at the time). He worked to diagnose the problem and fixed it on the spot. Really cannot ask for anything more. Tyler and his team are superb. They should be teaching seminars on customer relationship building. Lastly, about the price. Are they the cheapest HVAC contractor out there? No. But their quote was very competitive. You may pay a little bit more than the cheapest bid, but you will not find his level of perfectionism anywhere else.

Plus, this guy who was unrelated to this business ended up showing up like 2 hours late or always changed the arrival times. Cool dude tho. The company charged me $65 for a new drip pan that I never received and $250 for a permit that was taken out five days AFTER the service was completed--three times the actual cost of the town permit, which is only $75 in Amherst. According to the town's ordinance, permits need to be pulled prior to any work being done. It was only after I confronted the company about not pulling a permit that they attempted to backtrack and obtain one 5 days after the completion of this job. When I requested a refund, they informed me that I needed to have the town inspector come and inspect their work before they would issue a refund for the $65 & not for the permit. This inspection is not a requirement, with or without a permit, yet they are refusing to refund my money. While their onsite team did an excellent job, the dishonesty of the office staff puts a bad name on the company. I DO NOT recommend American Plumbing Heating & Cooling due to these deceptive practices.

This is an honest, recent review of a local HVAC/Plumbing company . We want to support local…read morebusinesses if possible. That being said, our 1st experience with this local business didn't go very well. We initially contacted them to have a small valve replaced at our boiler as it was dripping. I asked for an estimate of the price upfront, and was informed without seeing it, they were unable to provide that. I also sent a picture of the valve that was leaking and still no estimate. When they arrived, they were cordial and professional. After taking a quick look at the valve, they also decided to replace the check valve adjacent to the dripping valve, even though it seemed to be functioning perfectly. They proceeded to complete the work and were essentially leaving the driveway in approx. 30 minutes. During our conversation with them, we asked them to stop at the front door before they left. They basically said "we will write up a slip and it will be mailed to you" We assumed that at the very least we would get a paper receipt of what was done before they left. Well, they left without giving us a price, a work order, a receipt, anything. I had to call the office and asked what the total bill would be. Later that day they got back to me and quite honestly, I almost fell off the chair. $540.00 for less than 30 minutes and a simple shutoff valve installation. I was informed that $212.00 was their minimum just to come out to a home. We were never told any of this up front even though I asked. They indicated that the valves (one of which was not required, but "suggested") cost them over $200.00. This may be true, but we were able to easily find the replacement valves in both HD and Amazon for $65.00, for BOTH valves. Since we had originally sent them pictures of the valve to be replaced, they knew beforehand what they planned to use as a new valve, but never informed us that it was far more expensive than what a typically valve would be. The valves seem to be overkill for such a simple replacement, but we as the customer had no opportunity to not have them install it should we have decided that. The installation seems professional, but the price was sky high for such a simple job. Being a local resident, we were assuming in good faith to build relationships with local businesses, but that is obviously not the case. Its clear to us they are driven solely by money, not customer relationships. Also, there is no indication from anyone what the warranty is on the work performed, its all just a total mystery working with this company. Since then, we reached out to (2) separate contractors who indicated there is nothing at all unusual or difficult about this routine job and they confirmed (what we had researched before we ever contacted Sarette), which is that the absolute most this should have cost was $250-$300. Sarette installed the valves they chose, but gave the customer no option, no opportunity / choice to refuse this installation if we wanted to. The installers were fine, but whomever is responsible for the final cost should understand that you may have gotten the bill paid this go-around, you have lost what would have been a loyal and repeat customer going forward. An expensive lesson for sure, but a valuable lesson all the same, that not all businesses see value in their customers, just the bottom line. We understand its a business, but frankly we felt taken advantage of by this company and would not use, nor recommend their services again. A very frustrating & disappointing experience.

Last week our heat went out on a very cold night--when I called a technician came out the next morning but didn't have the part and had to go back to get it. (We live 40 minutes away). He came back and replaced the control board which had failed. The entire job while here took less than 45 minutes and the part not labor was under warranty. What I didn't know until after he wrote up the invoice was that their overtime (weekend) rate is $300 an hour--more than double their $145 regular rate! And I was charged for four fours of work because of his travel time, which was also clearly rounded up. So a $1200 bill for a warrantied part on a relatively new furnace that they installed and serviced. Feeling totally ripped off!
