Paid for a routine cleaning service. A couple months prior I installed a new oil burner along with…read morea few other components. It ran a little rough for a couple months with no real issue but decided to get a professional to adjust the air and etc. So to start the tech who did the service over tightened the thread on the drawer assembly cross threading it and causing it to leak an insane amount two days after service. An emergency tech comes to tell me that it probably was like that from the manufacturer (even though it was running fine before the service and I personally installed and inspected the drawer assembly two months prior.) He proceeded to tell me that it would cost $500 or more to have it fixed... gave them the benefit of the doubt just to be ignored and blocked by them. After installing another drawer assembly, I thought all would be good. But the tech did not tighten the set screws enough and the oil burner had fallen out of place causing a bunch more combustion issues. Also had to buy a stand for the burner to prevent it happening again. The oil pressure was also jacked all the way up( I assume by the emergency tech because it was leaking) instead of telling me any of this I had to fix it on my own. I was going to let it go until I was ignored and blocked. I get companies have to make money but it's the bare minimum being honest. And if you were an honest company you would have helped fix the problem you caused instead of gaslighting me and saying it will cost 500-700$. Especially when the part is less than 80$ and takes less than 10 minutes to swap.

Jay was great, discussed multiple options, but was honest and up front that the tech guys would have to come out to really evaluate the feasibility and design of the project. Good indication of integrity up front. Tyler, the co-owner and lead installer, came out several days later to do a more thorough evaluation. Extremely courteous, professional, polite, and accommodating. Highly knowledgeable as well. Explained all the options and designs, and their pros and cons. No sales pitches etc. Just the facts. Really made the effort to preserve the character of our older style home. When his team started working, all very courteous, professional, knowledgeable. Showed up with masks and booties to protect our floors. Worked quickly and efficiently. Tyler was there the whole time, welcomed any questions, described exactly what they were doing and why. The finished product is superb, and blends perfectly into the house. All the work was done with the outmost attention to detail. When we ran the heat last night there was a problem, it would not shut off. I called Tyler, he called me back within 15 minutes, and was at our house within a half hour. The problem turned out to be an old defective valve in the pre-existing pump (which he could not have known about at the time). He worked to diagnose the problem and fixed it on the spot. Really cannot ask for anything more. Tyler and his team are superb. They should be teaching seminars on customer relationship building. Lastly, about the price. Are they the cheapest HVAC contractor out there? No. But their quote was very competitive. You may pay a little bit more than the cheapest bid, but you will not find his level of perfectionism anywhere else.

He personally stands by his work, and has no problem with answering your calls. I know this because I've hired and consulted CARNIC for over 10 years, including having them clean my first boiler every few years. BTW, yes, I know it should be cleaned annually, but Jim does such a thorough job, it runs well for much longer than one year. I selected a modern design pin type boiler (New Yorker), I added a tank type hot water heater which uses a circulation zone for the source of heating the water (SuperStor Ultra, indirect heating), and 2 microprocessor control systems. Yeah, didn't need all that, but the controller which adjusts burn time according to outdoor temperatures was a key component which does not come with the boiler. Ray was recommended by our contractor. He evaluated the spare, determined that there was nothing wrong with it and installed it for a very reasonable price. It's better than the original. Then, I was putting heat tape on the piping and I must've been too rough with the pipes and something started to leak. I couldn't be there. I left it so that Ray could get in. He fixed the leak quickly. I told him I would come up that weekend to pay him and he asked me if I wanted him to turn up the heat because it was very cold. Great plumber! Great guy!
