Walked into a Uncle Bob's and was pleasantly greeted by staff and Uncle Bob himself. (I will disclose that I have known Bob since first grade, but had not seen him in over 38 years). Their piercer is in every day they are open (go figure). He was honest and didn't have the materials I need to fix my jewelry piece and says he didn't want to attempt to replace it with something else because my ear was irritated. Here comes the best part of businesses I love. The piercer referred me to another tattoo and piercing shop. Businesses who realize their limitations and take the best interest of a potential customer are truly the best. They were not afraid to lose business and genuinely cared.

She was silent for many seconds and then said that they don't take appointments, walk-ins only. I was confused because on the website it said appointment only, and to call at noon to make an appointment. So I was like I guess they changed their policy. I drove over 30 minutes to get there, and when I walked in I was declined service because they do not take walk-ins. The lady that "helped" us could not have cared less, even when I told her what the worker had said to me. I suggested that she have a talk with the workers because, and I quote from her, "This happens all the time". How can your workers not know what to do in situations like this, especially when policy is on the website and likely have people in everyday for piercings. So she said try calling again tomorrow. So my aunt called them at 12:04 today, the following day, to get our name on the list to call back and make our appointment at 1. They called her back and said they were fully booked up for the day, and would only be able to have an appointment for one at 1 o'clock, which was the time that they called her back. The lady was rude, and not helpful, they clearly do not care about helping people or getting business so do not go here. There are plenty of other great places to go with much nicer and more helpful people. The management clearly seems to be lacking, so don't waste your time, money, or gas to try and go here.

I got my plumeria tattoo in July 2022 and it took two hours and was $180 plus tip. I got my balloon flower tattoo in Dec 2022 and it took two hours and was $220 plus tip. As you can see, her rates have gone up so it's best to keep an eye on her instagram page and be on her email list for updates. For the booking process, each time I would submit an idea while her books were open then she would approve my idea if it fit within what she wants to tattoo. Once I got approval, she emailed two links for putting down a deposit and choosing when my appointment is. This process is easy, then you eventually get a couple emails/text messages telling you instructions for the day of the appointment and aftercare. Parking near the studio is rather hard, but I've always been lucky that my partner drops me off. You can definitely find street parking, it just may be a bit of a walk to the studio. You text the given number saying that you're here and go up once Ash says she's ready. The rest of the process is pretty straightforward after that. I love this studio since you always feel safe and respected while getting a tattoo! I have suggested Ash as an artist to other people multiple times and will continue to do so.

I don't know a whole lot about piercing but you most certainly don't pierce with a needle and cork and stick a hoop in there. After doing research on why it hurt so bad I figured out getting a hoop is highly discouraged as it makes the healing process super difficult. The front desk worker was very nice and helpful and I can not speak for the tattoo part of this shop but the piercing is awful. You definitely get what you pay for here. Go to Mythos instead.

There have been a few times where I have come in to get new jewelry (went to the beach and the waves literally unscrewed my piercings..) and all of those interactions have been pleasant, including Zoe just giving me some of the little ball thingies. I went again in March 2023 to get my bridge done. Once again, Zoe did a visibly very good job, and it was a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, he did not actually do a fantastic job. He put in a curved bar instead of a straight one. For reference, you are supposed to use straight bars for bridge piercings, to prevent them from tearing or rejecting. I was, however, advised by other piercing shops and people with more experience than me to leave it in until in healed, so I did. A couple months go by, and it healed up fine. Not the best, there were some times I would wake up and there would be a little bit of blood caked on the piercing, but it was visibly good. I ended up going to a music show at the Whirling Tiger, and got hit in the face in the pit, tearing the piercing a tiny bit (I would like to state this one is entirely on me, and it would have likely torn even if it was a straight bar). It wasn't too bad, and I kept it clean so it could heal fine. Time went by and it just didn't heal, because the shape of the bar was causing too much movement. I eventually went to Artfully Insane to have it looked at, since they are right by my home. They were honestly shocked at it. Not only was the wrong type of bar put in, it was apparently hand bent. Basically, there was a 100% chance of it getting torn, by the shape alone, but because of the imperfections in the curve, it was a miracle it had not been rejected or gotten infected. I really wish I thought to get a picture of the jewelry before the man in there threw it away. I now will have to wait two months to get it repeirced, while this heals. There is a chance now, too, that I can't get it repeirced for a while or even ever, just because there is a chance of abnormal scarring because of the imperfections in the bar. I am not giving them the lowest score, because aside from this, my experiences have been fine. Zoe is a very nice guy, he did a great job on my septum, everything is affordable, people are friendly, etc. etc. etc. My last experience was not fantastic, so maybe find another place for surface piercings.
