I was hosting a holiday party for family and friends last Friday night and realized that, realistically, I would not have time to properly clean my apartment for such an occasion in light of everything else I had to do. So I contacted Kevin shortly after 10pm on Thursday night. He promptly responded and said that he and his wife, Gladys, would be at my house by 3pm the next day and would be finished cleaning by 6pm. I was so relieved to have found someone to help me as it took a huge burden off of my shoulders. I gave him my address and thus our appointment, his HIS words, was "confirmed." The next day, I texted Kevin around 2pm to give him some tips for finding my apartment since it can often be confusing for new visitors. He didn't respond. I didn't think much of it until 3:30pm when I still had not heard from him. Up until this point, I had given him the benefit of the doubt since traffic in L.A. can be a disaster on Friday afternoons. However, seeing as how our appointment was scheduled for 3:00pm, 30 minutes is quite a long time to make somebody wait without contacting them to let them know you are running late. So I called him. He didn't answer. I left him a voicemail. A few minutes later, I texted him to point out that he was over half an hour late, and to ask if he was still planning on coming because I was really relying on him to help me out as he had given me his word that he would be there to do so. No response. My boyfriend, who lives with me, also tried calling him from work after 4pm. No answer. He left a message as well. By 4:30pm, I realized that I was screwed. I had not planned on cleaning an entire apartment by myself along with all of the other preparations, and my holiday party was starting in just a few short hours. Had I known he was going to leave me high and dry, I would have tried making alternate arrangements far earlier in the day. Now, it was too late. That was 3 days ago. Kevin still has NEVER RESPONDED. He never returned my phone calls or my text messages. This is the kind of business he runs. Extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRELIABLE! How hard would it have been to apologize and let me know he couldn't make it, instead of sitting there and watching me call/text him and flat out ignoring me? I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE TO SOMEONE WHO DESERVES IT AND WILL TREAT YOU AS A VALUED CUSTOMER! There are plenty of great cleaning services in the Los Angeles area. Don't waste your time with someone who, in all reality, is extremely dishonest and irresponsible. He and the cleaner he brought with him for the job were friendly and professional and efficient. I was around the house myself and they asked questions on how I wanted certain things done, which I appreciated. And when I asked him to go over a couple small spaces (that had started out pretty dirty!) he was happy to do so! I enjoyed hiring a fellow Chapman alumn and I think it's very cool that he will be offering a laundry service as well. They had to refinish all my kitchen cabinets because the original guy (let's just call him Tim) used demo cabinets that cracked and died due to water splashing (they are kitchen cabinets). The cost was a lot less then having someone come in and reface the cabinets, which is what they essentially did. They were on time every step of the way. The work was done professionally.
