This was my first visit at this restaurant and the food was very good and fresh. The customer service was also good it could use some slight tweaking but other than that it was pretty good as well as the experience

Food is really kinda expensive. It's basic. My recommendation is to only do appetizers and drinks here, there's better food in Auburn. I recommend the spinach artichoke dip for an app. They have lots of drink specials throughout the week-- Mondays are $4 Mojitos and $3 Draft beers. I know Wednesdays they have a martini special. Service is good! Sitting on the porch is fun when the weathers good. Inside is kinda Olive Garden vibes--definitely recommend the porch. It's huge, big bar. You can hear the traffic but not too bad.

I visited Auburn University for the first time this past weekend and was taken out to Live Oaks for dinner! We sat on a stunning patio with lots of space, twinkle lights, and a perfect sunset view - I loved the ambiance here, especially on a warm evening! The menu wasn't super diverse - lots of staple items such as pasta, chicken, or salmon. I opted for the chicken bacon and chipotle ranch flatbread which was very tasty, and I also tried some of my friends dishes (salmon plate and chicken florentine) which were decent as well. Overall the food here wasn't anything crazy special but the drink menu was pretty extensive! I tried the Pearl's Peach which was a mix of real peach pieces with vodka and peach schnapps - very delicious! There was long wait times for food and drinks here, but our kind waitress had apologized saying they were backed up. I'm sure going on another night instead of a Saturday would have quicker wait times, but it really didn't hinder my experience at Live Oaks! Overall, I would recommend Live Oaks as a good spot for parents/families visiting Auburn University as it does have staple items and a great ambiance that would make everyone happy!

I came on a weekend evening just to sit outside and have drinks. Unfortunately it got a little breezy and their heaters were out of propane so we asked to move inside. The waitress was nice and had no problem with this. My 3 stars are mostly because I didn't eat here so it was "A-Okay" based on what I went for. I will say the inside was much smaller than I expected and had a nice intimate, low lighting feel. It would be great for a date. The patio on the other hand has more of a big group, family type feel.

Salmon and Brussel sprouts were very good!

We had a wonderful experience at this Auburn bar and restaurant. The atmosphere, food, and service were stellar. Our party of eight was seated in the large outdoor patio. We started with several appetizers, but the Mac and Cheese Bites stole the show. More than a "bite", these unique creations looked like giant fried cheese sticks. Rectangular patties of mac & cheese were breaded then fried. They are served with a roasted red pepper aioli and a jalapeño honey mustard sauce. The latter was my favorite. For my entree I ordered the Blackened Salmon. It wasn't "blackened" by my definition, but is was still seasoned and prepared nicely. The large filet was cooked just right to me; firm but the meat easily separated with my fork. The Salmon comes with two sides, and I love that there is a wide variety to select from. I ordered Brussel sprouts and a side house salad. The Brussels were delicious. They were thinly sliced and prepared with pieces of smoked sausage. Very fresh and tasty. The side salad was very good, and what you would expect. A mixture of fresh lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, etc. The portion was too large for me to finish. The prices are on the high side for the average college student's budget. But, a nicer experience than the typical college-town restaurant and bar.

I didn't realize this was a strictly outside location, but it was such a nice day I didn't mind! There wasn't a wait at all, so I loved that on a Friday night, got seated, but I hated how long it took for my waiter to acknowledge our table. But once he got to our table I understood why. His name was Eric and he was new and he was so kind! We had a few mishaps, but he handled them great! The food took a long time, but it was because they were short staffed. I got crab cakes and spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer. They were a bit thin, but so good and way more sauce than other people give. And the dip was yummy too! To drink I got a tipsy tiger with tequila and they filled her UP! 10/10 recommend that drink. Honestly, the entree was the worst of the evening. The wait + the taste was not good. It was seasoned with nothing but pepper and the sauce was WAY too salty. It was a good dish, but not last night. My friend ordered asparagus and they gave her green beans??? And everyone's chicken was dry. I've heard great things, but nervous about going back because I spent so much for an average experience.

Super slow service. We were sat at the bar and there was no bartender in sight for ~15 minutes. She took a long time to take our order once she came outside. Can't complain about anything else. Nice ambience outside with lots of TVs and covered area

Complaints include a chipped plate and glass along with a very loud environment. We were seated away from the bar area but it was quite loud to the point it was difficult to hear across the table. The DJ could bring it down a little but the hard wood ceiling and floor bounces sound extremely well. Outside dining may be a good option for a more quiet night. It's a small menu and they were out of two apps on Saturday night:( All that said, the food is very good. I especially liked the burrata and the tuna. The beet salad could use a few more beets but the lamb and chicken were reported as good. Substantial wine list with many Italian options. Well made cocktails, shout out for the old fashioned. Plan on spending $100pp to do it right.

If you're planning a meal, I highly recommend requesting an outdoor table, which makes for a much more enjoyable experience. The noise level inside can be pretty high, although where you sit definitely makes a difference. The bar scene looks fantastic and would be a great place to stop in for cocktails and enjoy the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself was disappointing. Service was slow and inattentive throughout the evening. We had already finished our meals before our waiter finally stopped by to ask how everything was with our "first bites," which was a bit ironic. The food was just okay. The menu leans Italian, but some of the dishes missed the mark. The vodka sauce lacked the authentic flavor you'd expect, and the pappardelle had an unexpectedly heavy lemon flavor that overpowered the dish. To top it off, we were charged for a second drink that we never ordered. Overall, Olivine shines when it comes to atmosphere and views, and I could definitely see returning for drinks at the bar. However, the service and food quality need some refinement before I'd come back for dinner.

I was originally going to say that nostalgia should take you back to your youth without having to deal with the youth that are now frequenting this college watering hole. But I decided when it comes to 17-16, I can't find anything else wrong with it besides having to deal with college students. But you know what, when you have a great "college bar", you really shouldn't expect anything different. Therefore I will let nostalgia from the bar I loved in college negate any of those negative thoughts. Although, I'm sure our group stuck out like the old alums that still hit the bars when they are in town. What makes this bar a great college bar? First of all, the bar runs on both sides and there are always plenty of bartenders. Making it very easy to get a drink. Not to mention college town prices are AMAZING. Also because of this wrap around bar concept, it keeps people flowing in a "lap walking" form. So even though it gets crowded, it doesn't feel that claustrophobic. There is also an outside area in the back. So if you want to get out of the crowded bar, this is usually pretty wide open. Would I frequent 17-16 if it were in my hometown? Probably not. But when I do my once in a blue moon visits and know what I'm getting in to, I can't think of another late night bar in the loveliest village on the plains.

The risotto it was served with seems like it should be rich and homey. But despite a crazy amount of added dairy still tasted thin and flat. Can't tell you why. Wonky seasoning? None of the dishes reflected any familiarity with acid to lighten or balance a dish. Fried green tomatoes were pretty mid despite a quality remoulade and a bunch of pimento cheese.
