I believe in ghosts because of this tour. This post is long overdue. I went with my family in Summer 2015 and it was a group of 5 of us. The reason I never reviewed because at one point I lost the photo which convinced me that spirits were real! I've finally found it The pick up location was at a local bar. Our tour guide was Graham? I remember him mentioning his educational background on the history of LA and that he had only lived in NOLA for 8 years. He was very accommodating with my cousin who was unwell and had to take a breather for one moment. Needless to say, he put up with my family's shenanigans. We toured the outside of a haunted building, the garden/patio of another building, learned about where vampire stories originated from. The last part of the tour included viewing an old 3 story building which used to be a brothel, ice cream shop, and an upcoming restaurant. One room was currently under construction but you were able to go inside the pink painted room. But I was too scared! We sat in the living room near the fireplace and Graham mentioned that many people took photos of one corner and has found interesting footage. So we did using our go pro we had on hand. In my photo, you can see a figure of a woman that isn't suppose to be there! There's supposed to be a plain shadow from the other dining room but instead you can kind of see the outline of a woman's face. And in the bottom right, you can see a baby's face??? Increasing the brightness may help see what I'm talking about idk.... Graham, the tour guide, is the one showing me the company iPad with other footage which tourists have submitted. I am the one he is showing to.. the pictures on the iPad are insane! I was afraid and was covering my face bc holy f like..... how did people capture this on camera!! Anyway, I forget which tour this was but I can imagine the other ones being just as interesting. I was nonchalant about ghosts but after this tour, I began watching Ghost Adventures haha. Graham was a great story teller. The stories he told showcased real people experiencing pain and suffering which just highlighted what happens to souls in their afterlife. He also explained the history of the buildings and the haunted chandelier in the dining room. I really enjoyed this tour! It was a great time and a wonderful learning experience on the history of New Orleans. I am looking forward to visiting again. read more

I have been on several different tours with several different companies and I was happy to find that this tour told different stories than others (expect the major ones) and I felt like there was actually more stories and stops. This tour is unlike anything I have been on because they actually take you into a haunted building in the French Quarter. No other tour company does that or at least not that I have seen. Our tour guide was animated, vocal and very informative with her information and questions she was asked. This is a great chance to learn some history, mystery and maybe catch a "ghost" on camera. The building they take you in is currently under renovation and the downstairs is a restaurant. It's three stories and the guide will give you the information of what happened on every floor. The top floor used to be a brothel and is extremely haunted by several spirits but, the strongest one is a girl who tried to buy her way out of the brothel life for her and her baby. You will learn the story on the tour. You are allowed to photograph, video tape, etc. The guide told us that they may do seance dinners or just dinners on the floor that the brothel was located on. If you are into ghosts or being scared then I would recommend buying tickets to that. I know I will the next time that I am in town. read more

I really loved this tour! Our guide was awesome! We had a smaller group (only 6 of us) so she got to really interact with us vs just telling us things. I loved her focus on history, believe me, her stories are creepy enough without adding any sound effects or silly costumes. She mentioned a few good books to check out when I said I was fascinated with the history surrounding the legends. She also took us into one of the buildings she was telling us about and described what other people have seen and told us where to shoot, although it was easy enough to figure out. read more

My boyfriend and I booked the ghost tour of the French quarters. The tour was pretty cool. Make sure you wear comfy shoes it is a walking tour. I'm a huge fan of ghost stories and what better place than NOLA to hear cool stories and see interesting places. I would recommend this tour group, even though it's promoted as a ghost tour it's really a French Quarters history lesson. Either way it was still a good time for a tourist. read more

This was the last full day of our trip and we decided to give the walking tour a shot. WARNING wear shoes you can walk/stand for long periods of time in. We took.the night tour. Luckily we didn't have a big group because I wasn't in the mood for that. Lazlo was AWESOME. He's very personable and likeable. John was great. Will was awful. We did two tours. First was with Will. He made us stop twice at a bar/pub/restaurant with NO historical significance to get a drink. He was DRINKING on the tour. So unprofessional I could no believe it. Second tour was with John. John was knowledgeable, had VASTLY more to say about the history than Will. And HERE'S THE KICKER: We ended up passing by an alleyway and John gave us a little spooky heads up about the place. He knew that we had a tour yesterday with Will and asked if Will showed us this place. NO!! HE DID NOT!! Because he was too busy drinking and wasting our time and money with boozy pit stops! And John was surprised because this place was of real significance. Never doing a tour with this company ever again. Or at least never ask for Will. read more

What better way to spend our first night in the Big Easy than a two hour haunted walking tour around the French Quarter! We gathered with our group after sun down and we met our guide Robi. He let us know that Livery tour do not hire tour guides, they hire qualified historians. Impressive. I was curious and did research on that statement by the way and that was a valid statement. Robi was so engaging and captivated us all with his energy and story telling style. Aside from that he was so knowledgable and entertaining. We received such rich history of the city, along with chills and an eerie feeling throughout the tour. It was a long enough tour yet not dreadful nor tiring. I was hoping we'd see some orbs as we took pictures at the designated haunted spots, but, as expected, no orbs. I had so much fun and I highly recommend! The next day we joined the Plantation Tour. Bus picked us up at 9am and we headed to the Oak Valley Plantation, about 45 minutes out side of NOLA. It was a really beautiful plantation and the best view would be the quarter mile 300 year old oak trees leading to the plantation. We were back to the hotel by 2pm. That tour was alright, I think the haunted tour was far more interesting and fun. My only advice would be: wear comfy shoes and bring water! read more

8pm Wednesday, October 18, 2017: We toured the haunted houses of the French quarter with livery walking tour guide, Cynthia, aka Cyn. We were lucky to have only 4 in our group. Cyn was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the true history and the ghost stories that accompany them. We loved it. It was creepy enough. We passed many tours where the guides were yelling to be heard. Cyn was very articulate with the perfect amount of drama. She doesn't yell, which made it personal. Loved it. Ask for Cyn. Remember to ask her to show you the photos of ghosts on her phone... For my upcoming trip to New Orleans I wanted to set up some tours, so I could learn more about the city, since it was my first time in the area. I was easily able to set up a walking tour of the Garden District by the e-mail format on the Livery Tour website. This was convenient, since I could exchange information with the coordinator by e-mail instead of phone, since I'm not always accessible by phone during the work week. And the coordinator is quick to respond. The coordinator gave me specific instructions on where to meet my tour guide, as the meeting location is in front of a house in the Garden District neighborhood, which is easily accessible by one of the main street cars. What was even cooler was that our tour guide, John Doheny, is a Seattle native so it was easy for us to chat with him as we were able to speak to him about Seattle and New Orleans, and how the cities compare. He was also very personable and funny. The walking tour is set for two hours, but John seemed to be okay with us going over time as there was never a silent moment between us since the conversation kept going -- and it didn't feel like a three hour tour, which ended up being the case. We really enjoyed walking around and seeing the neighborhood and, to learn of New Orleans' vibrant history and culture. You get to see celebrity homes, movie set locations, the Lafayette Cemetery, and Magazine Street. John was also very patient and willing to answer any questions we had, and offered recommendations and advice on what we should do for the remainder of our vacation. If possible I recommend asking if you can set up a walking tour with John, as you will learn a lot and enjoy his company. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time in Nola, and the walking tour of the Garden District was one of the highlights of our vacation. read more

Thankfully we stumbled across Lazlo and his sign for a ghost tour at the corner of Chartres St & Toulouse St! We talked to him, asking about the ghost tour, seeing as we had been looking for one to go on tonight. We told him we'd come back to meet him for the tour at 8pm, and we are so happy we did. It was a small, intimate tour group, which we definitely preferred to the larger, more crowded tour groups we saw walking by us. Lazlo was an honest, lighthearted, comedic, eccentric tour guide and right up our alley. He didn't seem rehearsed or boring/matter-of-factly but he definitely knew his stuff. The tour was a good mix between city history, ghost history, crime history, and some war history. Definitely plenty of ghost history on the tour! Also seeing as today was our first day in Nola, the tour was a good way for us to get our bearings as to places we wanted to revisit in the next couple of days in the city. The tour was interesting and the tone Lazlo set was very unique, relaxed, and sort of "off the beaten path" so to speak, which is us to a T. Far superior to the other commercial overpacked tours where you can't hear the tour guide saying anything. Went with this tour based on the claim that they're the only ghost tour company to actually go inside a haunted house. Erika was a very knowledgeable tour guide, although when we suggested her info on something she said about American horror story filming was possibly incorrect (we'd had a tour of that exact building that morning) she didn't seem to happy that we had, nor did she bring it up again with the group. There was around 30 people on the tour, which was too many in my opinion, and from the comments I heard a few times from our tour guide seemed like some of the group had joined ours when they should have waited back for another group. Where there was a fact to back up a supposed haunting (crime reports / newspaper article etc) it was mentioned, but if there wasn't anything in particular to back something up it was slightly glossed over, but Erika was more than happy to answer any questions about this. This isn't one of those showy type tours where the guide dresses up in costume & makes a theatrical show out of it - and that's exactly why I liked it! There's chat about ghosts, vampires, history & crimes along with lots of walking & standing so wear comfy shoes! Don't be put off by thinking the first courtyard stop is the inside tour - later you'll go into an old house that's totally worth it! My first trip to New Orleans so I wanted to see everything! I had a huge interest in seeing the cemetery We walked by a storefront that had a sign that said "cemetery tour at 12:30" so I jumped at the chance to go. I was a little skeptical as most guided tours are usually lame with someone sounding like they are reciting a rehearsed script. Was recently in New Orleans for a "weekend Getaway" and we sort of stumbled in on Livery Tours and our tour guide Mike. It was thoroughly enjoyable. We learned a lot about the history of New Orleans from the French to the Spanish to Louisiana Purchase and all the way to modern day. There were ghost stories, funny stories and a ton of very interesting trivia about this - how else can you say it? - quirky town. Even though we finished the tour in a light misty rain, none of our groups' spirits were dampened and it was a great way to spend the day. We started the day, before the tour with a big bowl of boiled crawfish and finished the tour with a few cold beers, The tour in the St. Louis Cemetary can back up a little as there are a lot of tours going on at the same time, but it was nice to see how well all the tour operators respected one another and I think everyone got great tours. She actually has a masters degree and she is a historian! She had a great vibe and energy about her! She was very informative and we definitely enjoyed being a part of her group! I went on the haunted houses your and did not stay the whole time because it was the worst. Not worth it by far. I really thought the haunted house portion would be fun; however, it was very poorly done. Also, the tour guide can make or break the tour. Bea definitely broke it. Basic summary is Bea was providing more of a personal narrative with very remedial story telling skills. She pointed out the tv shows that came to NOLA to ghost hunt time and time again. Most of her information was based on what random locals told her. The haunted house was actually now a restaurant with construction on two of the three floors. She briefly over viewed some of the story behind it; however, mostly just talked about her experiences. It was very boring and not informational. The tour guide also walked really fast with no regard for if people were keeping up. Seemed like she didn't care about giving the tour. It's one thing to have a personal interest in hauntings but that does NOT make you a good tour guide. read more

We came down to New Orleans with a huge group of our friends to celebrate NYE. During the week we split up into several small groups, intersecting here and there like the Venn diagram of aging party people we are. We wanted to do something all together before the end of our stay, and this historic ghost tour of the Quarter was it. Frank was our guide and he was awesome. Engaging, erudite, and a real New Orleans character. He had a great sense of humor, and even had the grace to pretend we were as witty as we thought we were after some voodoo daiquiris from Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop. (We weren't.) When he discovered a lot of us were theatre people, he happily peppered the tour with tidbits from theatre history. According to legend, Tennessee Williams was a militant top. My cousin and I booked a tour through Groupon, or maybe it was living social. We did the Vieux Carre Sashay which is a daytime two hour walking tour of some of the French Quarter and then over to St. Louis Cemetary No. 1. We lucked out because no one else showed up so we had a private tour. Our guide was a very knowledgable local young lady; I believe her name was Lorenza. She gave us some historical background, pointed our architectural features, and answered all the random questions we had. We did two other walking tours with different companies during our vacation but this one was our favorite! I would definately use them again. read more

Just went on the historic ghost tour with Erika as our guide. She was extremely knowledgable of the city, it's history and the ghost tales. We passed other "Vampire Tours" and "Witch Tours" and they all looked cheesy with the guides dressing up and acting theatrical. Erika walked us through most of the French Quarter while offering many stories and provided historically accurate information. We also went into one of the haunted buildings as well, which was great to see up close. She was able to answer all questions and provide information about the city. We did two tours with this company during our trip. Ghost tour- very fascinating. I lost count of how many locations we went too, but that isn't to say that they were forgettable. Our tour guide was funny, interesting, and engaging. We were part of As pretty big group, but she was very accommodating. French Quarter/St Louis #1- this was one of the best experiences all vacation. My wife and I ended up being the only ones on the tour. Mike was our tour guide, and he was awesome. He was originally from up north, but the way he talked about the city made you think he was born and raised in NOLA. The tour was incredible. This was my fifth trip to the city, but I learned so much on this tour. It was about an hour if French Quarter history, and then an hour in the cemetery. We chose this tour for the cemetery part, but ended up enjoying the French quarter part the most. In the cemetery you will see Marie Laveau's grave, as well as Nichola Cages future grave. read more

We attended the the Haunted House tour on Friday the 23rd at 8pm. Our tour guide was witty, knowledgeable, and she had a booming voice but the locations, the many other tour groups, and the heat detracted from the experience. Also, it appears from the pictures that you get to attend an actual haunted house. According to our tour guide, that's no longer allowed by the state. My expectations for the tour were high and heard that it was a great and scary experience. Half way thru we were disappointed, especially after learning we wouldn't be inside any building at all. If we toured one building, that would have been enough to bring it all together. We as a group spent $225 bucks on this tour and all of us were disappointed half way thru. Livery should consider the heat and location. Most other tour groups had tour provided fans and agendas. I would not recommend the haunted house tour. read more

The Ghost Tour was so poorly done. Extremely boring. Our guide Bea, seemed like a very nice woman, but she just went on and on -- taking 20 minutes to tell a 5 minute story. Several in our group were so bored they left half way through. They were the smart ones. In the whole two hours went to only 5 places. They stop at a bar (nothing haunted, no stories - just if you want to get a drink. There's 20 minutes of your tour right there) The haunted house you go inside is just an old bar with two top floors under renovation. So boring. Nothing ghostly, or paranormal about this at all.
