Soon the pain was simply intolerable. I was accustomed to walking about five miles a day with my aging, but still feisty and very strong rat terrier. She can be a handful if you don't watch it. It got to the point where I just couldn't walk her anymore, and I couldn't take my morning walks even by myself. Something had to be done. I found Dr. Rizk and got evaluated and became a candidate for hip replacement. To be honest I was a little nervous maybe even reluctant about the procedure. I had all kinds of post care and quality of life questions. Each and every question was answered with affirmative responses, and so I went into the procedure with a bit more ease and came out on the other side even better than I was before. I dont have the debilitating pain, and reduction in motion from the original condition, and my quality of life is restored. This was my second knee replacement by Dr. Rizk. I had my right knee replacement 5 years ago. I had all the the shots in the right knee that seem to help with the pain when walking. When my right leg at the knee started to bow out I knew it was time have the knee replaced. I started asking questions to various people that had gone through knee replacement surgery. I was given different doctors names and most were located in the Big City of Houston. I choose Dr. Rizk of Beaumont because my wife's parents had their successful knee replacement surgery done by Dr. Rizk. Almost 5 years later I was having a lot of pain in my left knee. I tried the shots, however I was told by the doctor the left knee was bone on bone and knee replacement was the only option left. I then contacted Dr. Rizk who preformed the knee surgery. At the time of this writing I am proud to report the left knee replacement was successful too. You might say this has become a family affair because Dr. Rizk also performed my wife's right knee replacement also. I had water on the knee, swelling and discomfort. The doctor refused to treat me without my consent to an ultrasound for which they want to charge me a total of $1250! basically telling me i can accept that or leave without any treatment and wasting my time and money on the consultation. i wrote on the initial paper work that it was water on the knee which i expected to go and pay a couple hundred dollars for maybe a prescription to help that problem. Instead I got slammed by a doctor who is so fearful that she will be liable for something that she has absolutely no consideration for my actual well being on the whole, which does include my financial well being. forcing me to accept the ultrasound or not be treated because of her fears that i could have a blood clot in the leg, of which i had no other indications or symptoms of other than the swelling. i had already informed them fluid on the knee was the problem, and was then confirmed by the ultra expensive ultrasound which i did not need! so to sum it up, this is the problem with healthcare in america. I wanted to go in fully expecting to pay a reasonable price for what i needed done, but once i was in the patient room, i was held hostage and forced to agree to services i did not need, because of a doctor that refuses to consider anything but her own fears. guess i should just go to the emergency room next time.

I am a new patient with Dr. Frances and my initial visit was the result of major spinal pain and…read moretrying to rise, sit and bend over was a major and excruciating experience. went to see if there was any possibility of identifying the " ROOT CAUSE" of the issue(s) as I had years prior been in a mega truck accident and inflicted massive damage from the coccyx thru the neck vertebrae and for the past 5-6 years of medical treatment, primarily in the form of Steroid injections, which helped but now not a bearable situation so the visit. Dr, Francis had some tests run during the initial visit and as an initial action prescribed some medication via injection to aid in temporarily reducing the pain along with a prescription to reduce swelling and pain as well. (MRI ordered) Within the 3-4 hour stated time period to enable relief that did happen as explained and the prescription medication worked with the swelling. MRI results for the spine were reviewed with him today (4-4-2024) and the spine is a mega mess. Absolute phenomenal experience in the up-front examination and discovery followed with interim medications. Follow-up visit today resulted in a very in-depth review of the MRI results and subsequently provided me with a very clear and concise understanding of the written and visual MRI reports. A schedule is currently being coordinated with Dr. Frances, Houston OakBend Medical Center and myself for a very limited invasive surgery. Could not have been a better medical experience with an extremely competent Physician and staff. Footnote to this is, yes, you may have to wait sometime during your visit(s) but as stated in his medical facilities he "will see every patient himself" vs like the majority of medical visits whereas you may never see an actual DR. but a highly competent and Certified/Registered Nurse Practitioner.
