We are new to Eugene and were in need of a few electrical issues to be resolved. We contacted several companies and they were all three-six weeks out. Then I reached out to Live Wire and spoke with Adam, who was a good communicator and had told us he could send someone out the next day to at least wire our hot tub, and perhaps have time time to finish a few other things we needed. So, the next day we waited for someone to arrive that would call before arrival. Well, Tim and his apprentice did come but did not call before their arrival. Tim (the journeyman) immediately told us he only had time to do the hot tub and nothing else.. Ok, we were fine with that! We showed them the hot tub and let them have their go at it. Tim acted frantic from the time they arrived and was not the most friendly of people. Of course, we are not paying for a friendly service, but it does help to have a little better disposition. Moving on, and leading up the visit Adam, advised us that the trench that was dug was not to code and that it needed to be 18" deep or at least near that to be code... So, my wife and went out in the rain with shovels and a pickaxe and dug that trench down to 18". In comes Live Wire (Tim) to wire the hot tub. When we went to check on the progress they were in the process of completing the work; the only problem was that the junction box that Live WIre was placing was NOT TO CODE!!! So, we dug a trench to meet code and then the Lic. electrician comes in and places the box not to code. What is wrong with this picture? Five feet from the hot tub that's where the box belongs! not 3 feet. Funny how we were spoken to about the "code" but the electrician seemed to forget about it. Next stage: After Tim realized his mistake (because my wife told him the box was in the wrong place) he stated he had no time to correct it and left in a hurry leaving his Ipad and telling us that we would get a call the next morning from the office to reschedule our appointment. Fact is, Tim called the following morning after I sent him a text telling him his Ipad was here at which time he informed me he had rescheduled us for another 5 days out. So, Live Wire comes to our house makes a mistake and instead of saying they would be back the next day to correct their error they instead leave us with no power to the hot tub and probably are going to bill us for the hours of incorrect work. When I spoke with Tim in the morning I told him that it was completely unacceptable to push us out when this was clearly an error on his part! Conclusion: During the call, Tim told me he would work late to come back and finish the work to which I was totally fine with. Then he called shortly thereafter and asked if he could come at 11 am. Yes, of course, that would be great! He came on time and indeed hooked up our hot tub and rescheduled us for the remainder of the work needed. Does this makeup for the error in the first place? I was pondering that until today when he returned to finish up our needed work. He did call to let us know they were on their way and arrived in a timely manner. However, as strange as it seems they completed the work and JUST LEFT! We did not even know they were gone until we looked out the window and saw the truck was gone! Good old friendly Tim and his apprentice were long gone! No, we are done, did we get everything that was needed, thank you or even a Good Bye! I can't wait to see how this bill is going to add up for the work completed. I hope they add a discount for the poor service that Tim provided. There is more to doing work than the work itself. Tim should recognize that customer service is a part of his job and perhaps he should take some communication classes, or at least adjust his attitude for the short period of time he has to interact with customers. I am only giving 2 stars because, well I am not sure why. but I will leave it at that. read more
