She explains that deep tissue isn't supposed to be as hard as possible but what needs to happen to truly relax the muscle tissue. It's a combination of deep pressure but also whatever other magic she works to get the job done. It gets so bad I can't even move. My husband researched and looked at many reviews and for Xmas (2 days ago) gifted me a massage with Gloria. He and I were both nervous trying a new massage therapist, as my pain is pretty bad and most massage therapist can't even begin to get to the root of the problem. But Gloria did just that! After an amazing 1 1/2 hour massage, I walked out without pain!! I was shocked. She pinpointed the root cause, explained the issues and gave me advice on how to help myself on my own. The room was cold, the draping was inadequate (just a thin strip of a sheet that didn't cover my whole body), and there were loud cleaning noises outside the room for much of the massage. It was so loud that it was impossible to relax. Checkout was chaotic -- they insisted I had a membership I don't have and seemed confused about how to charge me. Overall, completely unprofessional and not relaxing at all. My massage did not resemble a standard licensed massage experience in the U.S. Would not recommend.

At the beginning of each session, he sits down, asks how I've been feeling, and explains the changes in techniques as the pregnancy is progressing. And, as of a few weeks ago, my husband who has neck and back issues has also started seeing him (he commutes from Poway). At every appointment, Dr. Mike does a combination of techniques to get the best result. Getting adjusted hasn't always been a pleasant experience, but somehow Dr. Mike makes it completely stress-free. And he never pressures me to come in more than I need to. When I called once, earlier than my weekly appointment because I felt like I had pulled something, he told me to wait and see if my body resolves itself before coming in.
