Finally found a truly effective massage! I have 2 rods in my back, scoliosis, diastasis recti after 2 c sections and love exercising - I'm a personal trainer, yoga teacher & lead retreats. I know how to exercise in a way that works for more sensitive bodies BUT, with structural issues in my body, I still need some extra support. I was feeling 3/10 this morning and afterwards Felt 9.5/10! Good enough to run which has been feeling harder for me lately. Gloria talks with you about your body, what you do/dont do, really aims to get to the root. She explains that deep tissue isn't supposed to be as hard as possible but what needs to happen to truly relax the muscle tissue. It's a combination of deep pressure but also whatever other magic she works to get the job done. Highly recommend and I'll be coming back regularly to keep my active body feeling good and able to stay active! This was the missing piece I needed because I already work on all the movement, strength, mobility, emotional/stress release/spiritual thru mindfulness, etc, but sometimes we just need this extra targeted tissue release. I never write reviews, but I have one word. WOW! I have been in chronic pain for over a decade. Most days my pain is pretty much a 7 or 8 out of 10 but on bad days, like 2 days ago, on Christmas, my pain was easily a 13. It gets so bad I can't even move. My husband researched and looked at many reviews and for Xmas (2 days ago) gifted me a massage with Gloria. He and I were both nervous trying a new massage therapist, as my pain is pretty bad and most massage therapist can't even begin to get to the root of the problem. But Gloria did just that! After an amazing 1 1/2 hour massage, I walked out without pain!! I was shocked. She pinpointed the root cause, explained the issues and gave me advice on how to help myself on my own. I have had over a year of pain and stiffness on my shoulders, neck and lower back. I was recommended by a friend and requested a 60 minutes Deep Tissue massage from Gloria. After 30 minutes on the table, I already felt such a relief! The stiff pinching and tightness disappeared. Recently visited Gloria at her new Carlsbad location. She is still the best masseuse I've ever encountered. Her new location is convenient, spotless, bright and calming. Plenty of parking. I have bulging/herniated disc's in neck area. I just told her general area and after 15 minutes she identified all knotted muscles and went to work. She is very knowledgeable on what to look for when massaging you so she educates you on why your muscles are in the state they are during your massage. Highly recommended. Gloria has helped work out some tough spots that I've been struggling with for a while. She is able to do deep tissue massage which I love, and yet is sensitive enough to feel areas of inflammation. I definitely feel much more relaxed and in less pain after one of her sessions. read more

I chose this place because of the great yelp review and it's convenient location to where I had been doing some shopping. Very nice salon, very nice masseuse. Massage was just ok. I paid for a 90 minute full body deep tissue massage and asked that my neck and shoulders be targeted especially. It was more like a Swedish massage, enjoyable but not what I needed after a very long international flight. I asked several times for more pressure but was not accommodated. There may be a language issue. The lady I spoke to on the phone to make the appointment spoke and understood English very well. The masseuse did not. I won't be back. read more
