I went back the 2 days later to get another pair, and the clerk told me they don't have boxes. I said really, I was there yesterday and got them put in a box. She says no we don't have boxes. I showed her where on the counter that the clerk got them from and she reluctantly pulled one out. Gave me a very dirty look and said we usually don't put them in a box. So rather than apologizing and say we usually don't put them in a box, She put them in a box and reluctantly handed them to me along with a very dirty look. I was very put out by the no apology and a direct lie to my face.

She answered all of the questions I had and encouraged both positive and negative feedback, which I thought was absolutely incredible. She offered me a cup of coffee, which I took her up on. There is a great array of truly quality souvenirs and just because they are quality doesn't mean they are not affordable. They had gifts for all budgets. I ended up getting a few things while I was there, and will be back tomorrow when I have more family members with me. This is the place to go if you're looking for something unique. Went to the Marquette location and was surprised to see a 3% surcharge on all "card purchases"…read more Surcharges for credit cards are common but this store also includes Debit Cards in that policy. Not a fan and when I asked to reverse the charge and that I would pay cash the owner/manager seemed not pleased. We go here frequently and I will have to remember to bring cash in the future. (We went to 6 other stores in Marquette today, used debit card at each place, and none of them used a surcharge.

I wasn't sure what to expect since I tend to be wary of tourist traps, but this shop is more of a specialty shop as it carries a wide variety of items, from candles to jams, to clothing and magnets. It's very well done. There's three sections in the store, as it has to expand within the historical building it occupies. The first section has the most variety as it sells small items like candles, dish cloths, lights, etc. The second section is clothing focused. The third and most personally interesting sells food. They have homemade fudge and turtle cookies, as well as candy station. There's a wall of jellies and jams, including UP favorites like thimbleberry jam. The people manning the store are super friendly as a huge plus!

Had an excellent time on my birthday seeing the shrine . Spent some time talking to the nice lady…read moreat the bookstore . A priest happened be on the property and we had our stuff blessed , he even blessed our dog . The folks we talked to up there were warm and VERY friendly . We learned a lot .
