Disappointed Long-Time Customer I've been a loyal customer of Living Water Carlsbad for years, consistently purchasing their most expensive plan and coming in multiple times a month to fill my six water jugs. However, after my most recent visit, I will never be going back. During my last trip, the employee/owner behind the counter had the audacity to yell at me for "overfilling" one of my bottles. The setup they have is specifically designed for customers to fill their own water jugs, yet I was treated rudely for spilling a tiny amount. It's comical, really, that a business centered around self-service would react so harshly over such a minor issue. Customer service should be a priority, especially for someone who has been a faithful customer for years. After this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Very disappointing. read more

It's nice to have an indoor place to go in and get your water. The place seems clean and great. The employee was able to help me get started. The only cons would be-there might be a fee to use your card and a certain amount required to use it $5-I believe. The hours there are open inside are a little limited and hard to make, for me personally due to my work schedule. Also, parking can be a little challenging since it's a busy shopping center. We want to preface that the astounding mistreatment we had to deal with detailed below, was all over a total sale cost of $1.75 in the end. Well, we just had the most ASTONISHING and AWFUL experience here! Wow wow wow. Soooo....I am a 70 year old woman who has had two back surgeries and both knees replaced in the past year. My son and his wife, who live in Carlsad, recently had a baby and as he has been recovering from chemo for some time, we came out from Santa Fe, NM, rented a house in Cardiff. Purified water is obviously critical for him and the family. As I have been instructed to not lift more than few pounds for years, I use sparkling water bottles (33 ounces) and simply fill many of them at once and store in pantry. I used to carry a five gallon glass bottle but now even the one gallon are too heavy. From the MOMENT we stepped in, the employee, clearly the son of the owners, was just breathtakingly rude, insulting and condescending. We wanted to simply ask.."Oh my...are you ok? Should we get you help?" First he said we couldn't fill them there as we had drank from them but we NEVER drink from them and they had also all gone through the dishwasher this morning. Water is always poured onto produce for washing or into a glass for drinking to keep them clean. He then started rudely ridiculing us saying it was NOT acceptable and only one gallon containers were allowed. !!!!! I have been to SOOOO many water stores in Santa Fe, NM ( a BEAUTIFUL one...much nicer), Westwood, Los Angeles, Carmel, Lake Arrowhead (many times), Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington...several in Vancouver, Canada..Chicago! We have never been treated this way, spoken to this way or seen such outrageous, disrespectful behavior from an employee in ANY business! He did what others have said...watched like a hawk...got upset if an ounce of water went out the top of the bottle...he harped on us the entire time! Then, when we explained that three and a half of the bottles=one gallon..he refused to accept it. What every water company from Whole Foods to specialty alkaline set ups has charged us. So...we had just over three gallons of water. He made my daughter remove the bottles THREE TIMES from our canvas bag as he sat there touching, rotating the bottles trying to find ounces...using his stupid calculator (such easy math!) and then acting impossibly put out and saying "We are the owners" (meaning parents who have a VERY entitled, disrespectful son own it...but when we asked his name he refused to tell us....) and you aren't welcome here. !!!!!! Our jaws dropped. Shocking. Then we went to pay saying we were just astonished and his insults continued. Then as another customer pointed out...tried to charge for a credit card use when they had not mentioned that upon entering saying instead, "It is the same outside as in but outside is only cash." I should add, there are NO signs of any kind indicating bottle size restrictions. Hahaha. Also need to reiterate that just as another customer stated, he constantly harped on us letting any water fall over the lip of the bottle. Never ever heard that from any water store. NEVER. My adult daughter said "Isn't it just recycled into your machines?" (It is in many high end water companies). He responded "No it's not and we want to make money off it. This is a business." Anyway...just the most astonishing experience I have literally ever had purchasing water and nearly the rudest treatment I have ever received in ANY store. To the owners...you could not possibly have a more terrible representative at your store if you tried. Unless he in fact learned all his manners and arrogance from you. In which case, time to hire outside the family. Never again. SUCH better options people! read more

I love this spot! I use to get my water from the Carlsbad Alkaline station but the lines are always incredibly long! A friend of mine told me about this location which is closer than the Encinitas location for me. Quick, easy, and efficient! Just what I need so I can jump back into my day. So I really don't like leaving reviews. I only leave a review if it's something terrible. That being said I do go to this place every once in a while. Sometimes it's months on end before I come back. I pre-purchsed their water package which allows you to come as you please and fill your wayer till you've gotten your quota. It's not very close and I usually have water from a service. But sometimes we run out durring the summer. This is one of those times. I came in since I still had plenty of gallons left on my prepay. When I got there they couldn't find my card. And we're rude about it. I gave them another name it could be with the same answer, "you don't have an account here" At this point I'm getting agitated. The guy at the counter, running his parents store tells me he doesn't even remember me. What does that mean? No I ask do you throw away cards that still have money (gallons) on them. He then tells me that YES they do. Apperently this has been an issue, because if you look at the pictures of the store here on yelp, you'll see the register and card machine with no sign stating thier policy. Now there is a one at the bottom of the PayPal sign. They says they can discontinue your card if you havent come for water in 6 months .Therefore taking the money you had prepayed for. At this point I'm pretty upset. When I started going there, there was not a policy. Now it is. As I'm trying to argue that point he tells me to leave. If you want toget water here, by all means get your water. But this guy I dealt with today? He just seems like he's working at his parent's shop, doesn't care to be there, and has no problem throwing our cards out and keeping the money..... read more

Expensive Regular water per gallon is 30 cents but here is 50 cents and the water taste like public sink water. They have not enough parking in front of the store. The owner would double their price when you finish and you're ready to pay so you pay $1.00 per gallon. I had two three gallons bottles and I had to pay $6 You are better off going to Carlsbad Akaline water in Carlsbad village they're way more cheaper than this place read more

I am a 64 year old veteran with sometimes severe disabilities. I have been going to living water 2588 El Camino real in Carlsbad for about 6 months. Recently I filled my five 5 gallon and one 3 gallon water bottles there. When I finished filling the bottles, I went to the counter to pay. Jason, the salesman, looked completely disturbed and said you left one of the waters running. I turned and saw that one of the spigots was barely trickling a tiny teenie weenie bit of water. I told him I sorry and I let him know that I could barely walk and that I was in a lot of pain. Then I hobbled over and turned it off. On that particular day I could barely walk but still went to do my chores as I refuse to give into the horrible pain that I am in almost daily. I take no medication. Sometimes when the pain is so intense, I tend not to pay full attention to what I am doing as it takes most of my energy to fight off the pain and concentrate on walking without falling down. Then Jason said you waste water when you come in here. You let the bottles overflow. I said that I am in continual pain and that I definitely did not do it on purpose and that if he had a problem in the past to speak up about it don't wait until 5 months have passed and then be angry and rude about it. I can't fix it if you don't tell me. He continued to harass me in front of other customers over a very small amount of wasted water. I had no idea that every time I went into this store that Jason was micromanaging me and watching my every move as my back is to the counter when filling my water bottles. In saying that, if he saw that I was not shutting the water off exactly on cue then he certainly had to notice the days that I could barely walk and was in debilitating pain. But not once and not ever did he offer help or offer an encouraging word. In fact, he never even said good morning or good afternoon when people entered his store. He only cared about a tiny bit of water spillage and whatever was on his cell phone screen. I don't understand how he had time to watch my every move when he was continually doodling with his cell phone only looking up to take my money. Poor, disrespectful customer service. I will find another water store where customers matter and are respected. read more

We LOVE this water. So happy I don't have to go to the village for water. You do not have to pay to rinse your bottles. You can get alkaline and RO purified.
