The latest appointment in the day is 1-3 pm which is difficult for our work schedule. When we opted for the 1-3 the service person called at 11:30 saying they were on their way! That seems too far outside the windows to expect customers to quickly adjust. They also give a base-line, per-call price but dot give an estimate before working. They also invoice for their services. Once the work was done it took 2 phone calls and 2 hours just to know how much we owed for the fix.

Three of My Trees Needed a Pro. Better Call Sal!…read more A very Large Cedar tree did not make it through the winter. I think it was about 30 feet high. And I had a 20 foot tall Pecan tree that died also. When Sal's crew arrived, they informed me I also had one more dead Pecan tree. The trees were a bit crowded, so when the men finished thinning out, the overall effect was very pleasing to the eye. And the crew ground the stumps down, filled the holes and cleaned everything up. It is hard to tell Sal's crew were ever there bringing down those tall trees and reducing it all to mulch. When the crew found the third dead tree (a Pecan) they quickly estimated a price, but it was over my budget, so I told them "next time". Sal's guy agreed to knock off $200, and get it all done so this job would look great, and the problem was off my list. I was not angling for a discount but it made it worthwhile to squirm for the extra. And I realized they were so right when I saw the finished result looked just beautiful with all the trees attended to. Sal, I am glad your guys can "think of Their Feet". He came out and repaired some things, and when he left I turned the system on and had a different station that wouldn't turn off. He responded right away but said it would be two weeks before he could come back out. So I had to turn off the system at the main cut off at the street, and water by hand for an hour and a half each time until then. When his team came back out, they repaired some more things and left with the same issue, same station wouldn't turn off. He came out himself to check it and told me he thought someone, like the lawn mowing company we use, was going behind him and messing with the on/offs for the stations. However, that's not possible, since the lawn company hadn't been there between the time Shane's team left and when I discovered the issue wasn't fixed 3 hours later. In the end, I asked for just the last $145 of the $600 total we'd paid him and he stopped responding. $600 paid and we still had the same issue we started with. Friendly guy, but this seemed unethical by the time he started pointing at the lawn company and taking our money without returning calls or texts. Be very careful!

Last time when he gave an estimate for putting in some new sprinkler heads, he also fixed and adjusted a row of mini sprinkler heads for the garden bed and did not charge for that. This time, Jesus placed new sprinkler heads for another part of the lawn, and changed out different spray head types a couple of times to my liking. He has the patience of Jesus. The estimates are reasonable, and Linda, who coordinates the jobs and takes the payments, is very responsive and quick to reply to questions. Overall, I recommend them for affordability, communication/responsiveness, and timeliness.

Once they did, their service was spotty, never knew when they would show up, so I had to keep asking. A couple months in, and they stopped showing up altogether. After 3 weeks of nothing, I emailed and was given another apology for them forgetting I existed. Another 2+ weeks go by, same exact thing. So I cancel my service with them, but I had one more day paid for. They came out and mowed their last day. And then they charged me for another month's service today. And good luck trying to get them on the phone. They never answer. If you leave a message, best you'll get is a text. Feels like they're scared to talk to their customers, and I see why.
