From day one, I was completely drawn in by the positive energy, welcoming community, and incredible variety of classes. Whether you're looking for a powerful Hot Yoga session, a gentle restorative class, or something in between, they truly offer something for everyone. The teachers are phenomenal--each brings their own unique style, passion, and heart to their teaching. I also love the workshops and special events they host. This past New Year's Eve, I had the amazing experience of welcoming 2026 with a midnight yoga and meditation class. It was the perfect way to set the tone for the year--centered, peaceful, and intentional. On January 1st, I took Merlin's class and was blown away. She greeted us with flowers, a note that read "I am love," and the most uplifting energy. Every class since has been a profound journey inward, helping me connect to myself in ways I can hardly put into words. I have been going to this studio on and off for about 3 years now. It's always been a great experience for me. They offer all sorts of classes for anyone's needs. My favorite class I have been going to recently has been a Flow & Restore class Wednesday mornings with Merlin. It's a perfect blend of breathwork, stretches along with spirituality and Yoga foundations. Merlin is amazing. Great energy and she has a very healing, relaxed vibe to her. HIGHLY recommend this class, as well as any other class this studio offers. The other instructors I have taken classes with are also amazing. Denise, Mi Han and Sabrina to name a few. The cancellation policy is very strict and not accommodating. I couldn't get in to the building on my first visit because i pressed 2 instead of the suite no. 201 on the intercom. So i missed the class and was charged for $20. I emailed to explain but the owner didn't believe me. I was frustrated on how unaccommodating the owner is for a first timer. After few back and forth, the charge was waived but left me a very bad impression. Today someone was struck by a train near 65 St. station. I was stuck on E train for over 45 mins, without network. I tried to text them about missing the class. The moment I got off the train, i called the front desk and explained the situation, she said sorry and instead of charging for $20, she will charge me $10. I was furious on how they run the business on trying to make profit out of cancellation fee for events that are out of my control. She asked me to talk to the owner, i didn't want to waste my time to repeat the same thing, that's not much to say more as I sent the service alert on MTA app to them. I should have bought just a single class instead of new members trial. That's my advice to anyone who wants to check out the studio. Don't commit to a monthly package until you try it out. Another inconvenient fact is the bathroom is outside of the studio shared with other suites on the same floor. The condition of the bathroom is comparable to those at train station. Originally I want to try a closer studio but i rather spend time traveling back to my usual studios (The Yoga Room and Hotyoga4YouRegoPark) with understanding and accommodating staffs. The hoops they made you jumped through to waive cancellation fee even for the first time is ridiculous as you can see from other reviewers. Not going back. It's a convenient excuse to say the cancellation fee is requested by the community and the business owner is getting the profit for charging a class plus cancellation fee . This place is in a very convenient location. Unfortunately, I stopped going because the yoga blocks smell like mildew. Its great they have everyone spray them down for hygiene purposes, but now there are smelly yoga props. They also charge a cancellation fee if you cancel within a few hrs of class. The charge goes directly to your card on file. I get it, but its not for me. My life is busy and I refuse be fiscally penalized for circumstances beyond my control. Lastly, they provide complimentary starbursts and other candies. Great, very thoughtful on behalf of the studio. However, not all class participants have manners and they make more noise than a camel with their sucking and chewing. Not conducive to relaxation! read more

I support small businesses through an activist group and have pushed bills to the council floor for commercial rent control and lease renewal protection. It pains me a bit to write anything negative. I'm guessing it was the owner that denied me a yoga spot over an email from 3 years ago. Granted it's his (or whoever's) right to do so. However, the text exchange was passive aggressive and the antithesis of yoga practice. Rather than simply state there were no seats available, I was accused of being adamant (how does one assess that from text?), quoted from a 2001 email where I said I was "not able to support [the] business anymore" (due to the severe covid restrictions being implemented) & told they were "simply honoring my own words" as if to punish me. It's the creepiest customer service I've ever experienced. The lockdowns were scary enough & my auto-immune disorder put me in a position to feel discriminated against. The 3-year-old email was my response coming from frustration & fear at the time. Obviously, things have eased up & we are more knowledgeable, but I guess this business isn't interested in ease, creating sanctuary, forgiveness, or calming the mind. As for the new location, I honestly don't have a critique and hope it serves the community well. Resonse to Joneil: I explained my situation via text already. I think it's interesting that my private email to your business is considered "lashing out." I did nothing to hurt the biz publicly. Everyone was on survival mode & fearing loss of work, not solely you. Three years later, you're still harboring resentment & I've moved on by signing up & giving you business. I think you're set on teaching lessons & handing out punishments, hence your karma comment & all your other responses to negative feedback. The studio refused to waive a cancellation fee on an OFF-PEAK class. I gently shared with them that I caught a cold and was still feeling sick. Management: would you rather members attend the class when they're feeling sick? [Edit] What I'm having trouble understanding is that, do I need to issue a doctor's letter to convince you that Im sick? When I woke up, I was still sick so I erred on the safe side and not go but was instead slapped with a cancellation fee that has still not been refunded. I'm fine not having it back and will just treat it as a one-off donation to the studio. It's completely unprofessional for a business to make such passive aggressive comments, to join a studio which aligns with my values, seriously? Though I must say, there are loads of professional, better service yoga and pilates studios in Forest Hills (and broader Queens) area that I can't wait to try so might listen to his advice after all. These people discriminate you if you look like an immigrant. I missed one of their classes, I called them to maneuver their cancellation on the website, they have different people on the desk with different temperament. So, if one is nice the other one hangs up on you . I kept e mailing them as well and called them to schedule classes because I could not understand how to schedule the online classes through membership. Meanwhile after paying $108 mind u not the new students offer $60 because I would forget to cancel and take the regular membership, my card was stolen so, I cancelled the card and totally forgot that I had used that card fr payment. So, it seems after the 5 th call one of the receptionist said that they had frozen the card because I failed to show up for a class and there was a $ 20 fee on it. I described them the entire scenario and requested them to waive the fee since it was not intentional and I would put in a new card. what ensued was a barrage of e mails , then I called them to explain the next guy says " if u don't want to pay your membership will be cancelled"! He hangs up the phone . Then after much thought I tell them that I do not want their membership , I have already paid for the 8 classes of which 4 classes are remaining , they can gift that to any of their " elite students". The next e mail says your membership is cancelled ! you should not set foot in our studio!- I should not expect "Thank you" from them?. pls stay away from these ungrateful, disrespectful people. read more

Ive tried this studio a few times over the years and always been dissapointed but there are few affordable alternatives in the area. The rooms are too small and crowded but this js not unique for nyc studios. After trying hald a dozen different teachers and classes I have yet to find a true vinyassa class where sequences are designed with consideration of the flow of energy through the chakras and taught in a tone that creates a meditative spiritual experience. Classes are taught like fitness classes not movement meditation and sequence stransitions often felt anatomically unsafe to me. There is a lack of sensitivty or awarenss among instructors about engaging with students in empowering ways that do not illicit shame. Im concluding that students that frequent this studio are either just looking for some flexibility or have sadly never experienced the power of a well designed yoga class informed by a deep understanding of the mind-body philosophy that is yoga. read more

I really love this yoga studio. The atmosphere is so open and welcoming, this is a place of genuine yoga practice with an emphasis on mind and body (not the hot girl's pilate place!) I do drop-in classes for $25 which I consider a treat to myself when I need a day to relieve sore muscles and meditate in their hot studio. They also have hot yin yoga classes which are especially good for meditation; you do poses that stretch your joints and meditate with essential oils. Perfect way to find that peace to start the week. Have been to a few classes so far. I appreciate having some schedule flexibility (lunch time express, live-stream). I do wish they had a session before work (e.g. 8-9am). Classes were okay, but I do think instructors can do better to accommodate for new or beginner yogis, unless this business does not want new customers. There are no stipulations on the levels for each class, and therefore instructors should give modifications for the more advanced yogis, as well as the beginner yogis. I was in a class, where the instructor Yashmani led a class focused mainly with variations of headstands or yoga arm balances, which I cannot do (yet). She did not offer variations for beginners nor did she ask if there were any newcomers or anyone new to yoga. Each variation she gave was even more complex and suited for the advanced yogi. I don't mind that she gave these variations for the advanced yogis and they seemed to enjoy these challenges. On my own, I tried to do some variations based on what I could recall (these were not offered by the instructor), but when we went into yet another complex pose. I paused to drink water and she remarked that 'people 'can't just sit there and watch. Yet really, your instructors should be encouraging others and offering modifications so that beginner yogis can improve / deepen their practice. Just my two cents. read more

I'm so thankful for this studio! The name says it all. It is bringing life and breath to the community. At this studio every teacher brings their own special techniques, style, and personality. The talent, passion and dedication of the instructors here have kept me coming back for 2 years. I especially connected with Instructor Mi Han. Her guidance and breath work has greatly excelled the zen in my life. The studio has opened my mind to many styles of yoga as the classes are unique and fluid. I was practicing in Manhattan for 10 years at the best of the best. When i moved to Queens I never imagined I'd find a studio I'd love just as much. Aesthetically it is not your typical Manhattan space, but this small business has the most incredible instructors. I highly recommend the Yin yoga class with spiritual, yoga, and math teacher, Dena Coduri. She teaches Yin & Flow @LivingYoga. Dena's classes focus on postures that deeply open the hips, spine, pelvis, and inner experience. You are slowing down, paying attention, chanting mantras, and cultivating a true understanding of yoga. The class focuses on longer holds that are not meant to be comfortable and you are invited to explore physical and mental balance outside your comfort zone. It's all about a heightened sense of awareness which creates more space in the body and the mind. Science says - " Our issues are embedded in our tissues." The origin of our pain lives in our body and all the wisdom we need to heal is within us. Dena guides you to find refuge in your body, in your yoga practice. We all want to be at ease, soften, move gracefully, and find our peace and our own sweet spot. Hit or miss. Most classes are lovely, with instructors who are pleasant, supportive, and create a peaceful space to practice. Unfortunately I was very put off by Denise's class. Her style to call people out and forcefully announce to the group when you weren't doing something well made me feel anxious and embarrassed. At one point she somewhat sarcastically, almost in a mocking fashion, "explained" to me what a stretch is while I was getting confused and nervous during her commands and criticisms of my posture. I really did not appreciate that. I left the class feeling discouraged, where yoga usually leaves me feeling enlightened. She seems like a nice enough person, and I do think some people genuinely appreciate this abrasive style of instruction, but I personally think it is the opposite of what yoga practice should be. Yoga practice should be meditative, and I felt shamed and picked on. I will avoid her class in the future. read more

I love this little studio. I've been moving around from school on long island to living in queens and haven't had a minute to get back to practicing yoga(it's been a few years). I tried a few places but never felt like it was "the one", some places are too pretentious and others I just didn't like . I also wish I didn't take 2 years to actually sign up at this studio but I'm so thankful that I finally did. They have 2 studio spaces that can probs hold a max of 10-15 people in each one(maybe more). Their yoga instructors are really great and they definitely take your needs/issues into consideration and will give you options for other poses if you can't do the advanced one. Being a small studio is definitely a benefit because it's a more intimate experience. It's not like you're in a class of 40 and your yoga instructor won't have a minute to correct your form or assist you. You definitely get the personalized help and assistance you need. I also hate going to a studio that's filled with rich snobs and everyone watching/judging everything. This studio is a judge free zone and everyone is treated equally! I get there ring the bell no one answers. I call no one answers, tried to knock no answer. too irritated traveled all the way spent car fare. Time to amend my words, and I'm more than happy to do it! After the pandemic, all my yoga studios in the city closed down :(, besides the fact that I'm still working from home most of the time so I needed to find a studio that was close by. I decided to give Living Yoga another try. Since I was still on their mailing list, I received their updates and I was impressed by how much thought and effort they put into opening the studio as soon as they were allowed to do it. Reading all the safety measures they were taking, made me feel at ease. My first class was with Mi Han and I absolutely loved it, it was like going back in time to the pre-pandemic classes. She made me feel grounded and relaxed. The studio is totally renovated, now it feels airy and bright. I've taken classes with every teacher and, so far, I have liked them all. Of course, I have my favorite teachers, but I enjoy the fact that there are enough options to make my practice varied and dynamic. I still haven't tried warm/hot yoga, because that's not my thing but I'm willing to give it a try in the near future. read more

I signed up for the $25 intro week and found their classes enjoyable. However, one of the instructors wasn't too friendly. I came with a friend and we were both newbies. We tried our best to position our bodies as instructed, occasionally glancing at other people to make sure our poses were correct. However, the instructor decided to scold us, saying "Don't just look at other people and try to copy their pose, you're doing it wrong." She could have simply correct us, but instead decided to humiliate us because we were new and couldn't get the pose right. Newbies beware. read more

I've been taking private prenatal yoga lessons with Mi Han Chiu for the past several months. It's been a fantastic experience! Mi Han is knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly kind. She helps her students cultivate a strong mind-body connection through a focus on the breath, and I leave every lesson feeling meaningfully more relaxed and comfortable in my body. I'd recommend that anyone -- pregnant or not, beginner or advanced -- take a class with Mi Han and watch themselves grow physically and perhaps even spiritually. read more

My friend and I have never done yoga before, and we signed up for the $25 introductory week, where you can take unlimited classes. Our first class was a hot yoga class on a Wednesday night at 7:30. The class was very full, and the room was a little cramped (to me), but it wasn't awkward at all. The instructor, Alyssa, was really amazing and patient with remembering that there were two new people in the class, and had no problem kind of walking us through poses or helping us perfect them. We're definitely going to take as many classes as we can this first week to see if this is going to be our "home" studio. P.S.- Parking was very convenient as well! read more

Really love this place! I started with the intro week ($25) and have been practicing ever since. The studio is clean, which is a MAJOR factor when considering a studio that offers bikram. You have options too - Bikram or "dry" yoga. Rei, the owner, is often in the studio such a easy-going spirit; she inspires you to continue your practice. Each month has a theme so you feel like you're working toward something, not just getting through a session. My only wish is for earlier Tuesday & Thursday classes so I can fit into my schedule. This studio is tiny even for New York standards. Students and teachers are very friendly and know each other. I was used to the yoga studios in the city where you practice and leave. It takes some adjustment and getting used to for me. The teachers are friendly. I've been to this studio many times now. I like it a lot that I would give it a 4 stars. I take one back because many teachers here makes you do too many sun salutations to warm up. I have a wrist issue. It's so painful to be doing aunt salutation many times. There are many ways to warm up in yoga. Some variation would be nice. read more

I loved this place. The staff was so friendly - I bought a 1-week new student pass, and by the 2nd class they recognized me. They were welcoming, helpful, kind, and just brought a great feeling to the studio. The classes were great, but a little long -- they usually started a little late and went a little late too. From the time I left my apartment to the time I got back, it was close to, if not over, 2 hours. The class was great, but sometimes an hour and a half is a little longer than I have considering how little time I have between the time I get home and the time I have to go to bed. A few shorter classes (say, around 1 hour long), would be great. There is a 45 minute class in the morning (and during lunch), but since I work in Manhattan, I have to be showered and on my way to work well before the class is over, so... The place is a good price for yoga, unfortunately, which is still a little steep for me, but I'll definitely go back! Also, I took three classes with Rei, and I can't tell you how lovely she is!!!!! Definitely try and take one of her classes if you can. read more

Living Yoga seems like a really cool yoga space. I've been once so far, and took a really great class with a great instructor. I got a strong sense of community among my fellow attendees, which was awesome. Just a couple downsides: -The schedule is verrrrry limited. There are absolutely no morning classes that are feasible for someone with any kind of day job (earliest class is at 9-ish and over an hour long). The evening schedule is equally limited, especially since I don't like hot yoga. PLEASE, Living Yoga, add some 8am classes and more 8pm options! :) -I hate hot yoga, and in general I really prefer yoga studios to be on the cooler side. I appreciate it must be very difficult to maintain everyone's preferred temperature when running hot yoga in the same studio as regular yoga, but I was sweating bullets and slip-sliding all over the place in my vinyasa class. Minor complaints only, though. If the schedule works for you, definitely check them out. read more

Living Yoga provides a welcoming environment for anyone who wants to practice yoga. I walked in without ever having practiced before. The instructor, Denise La Pointe, made it a point to walk me through poses and is always encouraging... even on my worse days! Other instructors have been great, as well. I've never had a bad experience in the three years I've been practicing at this studio. Recently, the studio's ownership changed hands. It's now lighter and brighter than it was before, and is still kept incredibly clean. The new owner is friendly, available and invested in the success of the studio. Where are 10 stars when you need them??? This place is my sanctuary. I couldn't have asked for a better haven in Forest Hills. The classes are marvelous, the instructors are so caring and passionate about their craft. For a challenge take Kadia or Charles. Really they get you so sweaty it is unlike yoga I've taken anywhere else. For a different style and a very hands on instructor take Latesha. She is a little talkative so it doesn't feel as "zen" throughout the class but it is a welcome change for me and unlike some other classes I've taken. In the summer I have to avoid because I don't do well in humidity and they don't turn the AC on in the classes I've been to. I've never tried the hot yoga. Small studio so don't arrive early because there is nowhere for u to sit or hang out. No real lobby space. read more

This place has pretty much saved me from going postal the last three weeks. Been working LONG hours at my job and I've been coming to the studio to do lunch time yoga and it has saved me. Living Yoga is everything that I would ever want in a yoga studio. I am always intimated walking into a new studio for the first time because it's usually such a tight-knit community, that sometimes it's hard to break through. Not here, not even for a second.
