We left at closing, so I was able to get a solid picture of the bar. Screens running down, and even behind me for retro gaming.

I love this place. We've been coming here for a few years now and I'll never be disappointed. Wide range of music, incredible people overall. The video games at the bar keep us entertained while we wait our turn to get on stage. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and they're always cheering people on as they go up and sing. I typically come here as a hang out so I'm always getting beer, but if you like good vibes, music, and fun overall - I strongly recommend you come by.

Had a great time with my friends here. The staff is friendly and encouraged us to sing some karaoke. So much fun!

Was passing through town and was in the mood to sing some karaoke. My friend & I found this place and we put our names in to sing. We are both professional singers that were on tour. Waited several HOURS until my friend's name was finally called, but mine was sadly never called! People started singing a second and third time that had already sung, and my name was never called. I eventually gave up and just left without singing. Still sad about it to this day. And I would have brought the house down! Haha, other than that, it was a fun place! Good vibes, good drinks!

We were told they had a great bingo night and fantastic food and drinks. That proved to be an excellent recommendation. The Wayward is located in the heart of the quaint village of Sayville. It is a spacious establishment with a large bar, plenty of tables as well as booth seating . We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender Brian. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the food and drink choices. He took the time to note our preferences within the dishes offered. It was apparent to us that Brian and the 2nd bartender Meg were extremely hard working, friendly and efficient. We started with a few drinks. Nothing fancy. I had a rum & coke and my wife went with Prosecco. Both were good. For dinner I went with gnocchi with chicken sausage in a pink cream sauce Absolutely fantastic! The kicker was the large dollop of fresh mozzarella on top. My wife chose the Chicken Milanese with roasted potatoes . She noted that the chicken was pan seared, breaded , moist and delicious. She opted to get it without the tomatoes and onions that accompany it. The potatoes were amazing. (I snagged a few so I can confirm this!) Deliciously seasoned, crispy on the outside moist and creamy on the inside. The bingo was also great! Chris was a great host. The prizes were great , although we didn't win anything. All in all a great night! A pleasant change of pace . We fully recommend The Wayward whether it for bingo night or dinner and drinks . Fantastic atmosphere, great food, great service.

Not a lot of parking out front, but there is a rear entrance you can use that has a much bigger parking lot for your ease. Service was decent, we got forgotten about once right off the bat, but once we got things straightened out staff were helpful, kind, and attentive. Starting off with drinks, I had tried their gingerbread old fashioned and their boozy coquito. The old fashioned was nothing special, but I did enjoy the little gingerbread man it came with. The coquito on the other hand was very tasty, albeit a little bit boozier than I expected, but I don't often mind a heavy pour. Next up for food, starting with apps, I tried the pretzel which comes with a cheese sauce and mustard on the side. Just as good as you'll find it at any bar serving it up these days. For entrees, I had their signature burger and tried a bite of my girlfriend's steak sandwich, and she definitely came out the winner. Burger was good, but nothing that made it standout much from other good smash burgers. The steak sandwich though was cooked well and didn't all just pull out on the first bite, which to me is the key indicator of a good steak sandwich! Was overall a nice dinner and I'd certainly like to comeback and try more of the menu and I've often been tempted to stop by for their bingo nights, they always seem to have awesome prizes.

Such a gorgeous, hidden gem vibe with plenty of seating whether you want the bar or a table. The food was genuinely unforgettable, we were still talking about it days later. If you love bold flavor with a little heat, this is your spot. We got the Bruschetta (grilled herb crostini, mozzarella, plum tomato compote), P.E.I. Mussels (chorizo, cherry pepper, riesling white wine), Wasabi Calamari (sesame crusted, spicy soy ginger sauce, wasabi aioli), Shrimp Mezze Rigate (pesto, sun-dried tomato, asparagus, breadcrumb, ricotta salata), and Cherry Pepper Pork (pounded, breaded, pan-fried, lemon cherry pepper sauce, melted parmesan, green beans, roasted potato), every dish was packed with flavor. Don't sleep on dessert either: a chocolate shell you crack open to reveal mousse inside, we were fighting to get the last bites! Bonus: they carry LI Salted Spirits cans and cocktails right at the bar, so you can keep the tasting going. Plenty of parking, super friendly staff, and a great spot for everyone. Highly recommend, ten out of ten!
