Came here as a party of 4 on a Saturday right before the dinner rush. Didn't have a reservation but they were able to squeeze us in, as it filled up quickly as the night went on. I realllllly wanted to love this place! We came here once literally 10 years ago so this was a 2nd try, a decade later. Safe to say - not much has changed! The decor, furniture, etc is very outdated. The table we had was uneven so we were scared to place our glasses and pitchers down. Cleanliness wasn't that great either - my water glass had mouth prints on them so it wasn't clean at sit down. The food in general was VERY good, just a little on the salty side. I loved how this was family style with the option to order half portions (40% cheaper than full price) Service was unfortunately slow. Not sure if I will be back due to not much improvement a decade later - but would love to see some improvements made to the restaurant.

The food was great! Great staff, very quick and accommodated form my disabled son. In 1998, I ran over a woman while drunk driving and never went to prison.

I so wanted to be giving a better review, but my last experience was lackluster. Let me even that out by saying I've gone there and had great meals and even held an event there once, and thanks to Jerry they were all top notch. But this last outing for a birthday just fell flat. So this review and rating is for this specific occasion, not my overall perception of them. To be fair, let's start with the good. The veal chop caprese was the star of the show. When I saw the price I thought this better be a massive chop, but instead it was two massive chops for slightly over what you would pay for one chop at another spot. The sauce was amazing, the veal was well cooked, and the breading was delicious and fried to perfection. The hummus with bruschetta flavors to start the meal was excellent. Continuing with the average points of the meal, the lobster ravioli special was good, not great. The dessert of a rainbow cheesecake was also good, not great. But, kudos to them for comping it for the birthday. It definitely ended an otherwise subpar experience on a high note. Now the rough spots. The vodka sauce which is usually very good was bland and disappointing. The chicken was tough and over cooked. The shrimp were meh at best. After waiting ten minutes, we had to ask for bread. And, when we arrived, the hostess continued a conversation with a waitress about tables instead of addressing the customer. For a while. Just a series of hospitality and service fails and a lackluster plate that really dragged the whole night down. That being said, it won't stop me from giving them another shot in the future. But I won't be racing back any time soon.

Cool spot with a Manhattan vibe "behind" Main Street in Patchogue…read more The reason this is key is because, since they face out to the firehouse and residential areas, parking USUALLY isn't a problem. There's a small lot that's free and you can park on Jennings. (sorry residents). We went on NYE so had to park several blocks away. No biggie. The inside is dark and cool with a city-vibe. Ample bar space and 1-4 tops an some banquet seating that lets you look out over the street. We were greeted right away by what turned out to be our server and seated promptly by the windows (we had a reservation). Also greeted by a gentleman that we think might have been her dad. The young lady hustled all night and managed the crowd well. We never waited too long for her to check in on us and she was very helpful with selecting wine and clarifying menu items. That being said, THIS IS A SMALL PLATES JOINT. People expecting full-sized portions should adjust their expectations accordingly. We did, however, order the Trastavere seafood platter (medium) which came as a tower and seemed impressive. Two types of oysters (large and medium) were presented; briny and fresh and pretty damned tasty. There was also a ceviche and tuna tartare that was, unfortunately, a bit unremarkable, as was the shrimp cocktail (though the shrimps were pretty hefty). The American "black caviar" was a nice way to commemorate the meal. Nutty with a pop of salinity but maybe something you can skip. We meant to order the Carne e Formaggi but got the Gamberetto instead which was fine as it was pretty tasty nonetheless (made with shrimp but it almost tasted like smoked salmon). Virgola Manhattan was good but pretty standard. Follow-up drink of dirty Manhattan was blissfully salty and cold. But back to the menu: we are unsure if they have an actual kitchen back there which would also explain the small plates concept and oyster and chilled fish options. The bruschetta was tasty, as mentioned, but it seems like they cut and toasted the bread and topped it with the crudo. The other bruschetta options featured ingredients from other menu items that could be re-purposed for multiple dishes. Smart but expect this. We plan on returning and trying the charcuterie board (mix and match cheeses and meats) and some cocktails. Overall, a nice night out and a nice option for dining and drinking around Patchogue. Cheers!

If you know Meadow Croft estate the winery is behind the house down the dirt road. If you don't know Meadow Croft estate, I suggest doing a tour there or take a walk thru the nature path on the estate grounds. The winery is rustic and beautiful. It's not like one of the large and overcrowded wineries out East. This winery will transport you to a small Napa valley vineyard or someone's private vineyard in Europe. There's no big dining or tasting room. It's just a small wooden building for the tasting and a food truck on the premises - you have to go to their website for the truck of the day. There's plenty of seating in the form of Adirondack chairs, picnic tables and small 2 person tables right on the vineyard paths. There's also heating lamps and when it gets cooler there's fire pits. The wine itself is not to be missed and I'm not a wine sommelier but I'm going out on a limb and say their wines are better than the big names ones you'd find out east. The Sauvignon Blanc was our favorite but we also had the merlot and the Chardonnay. All three were amazing. The service was amazing and they have events most nights. Last night it was music bingo which was a lot of fun and my sis won 2 bottles of wine ! It's dog friendly btw and I'd recommend dog owners to come here bc it's quiet and relaxing for you and your pooch. I almost didn't what to write a review bc I want this place to be a best kept secret on LI but the folks who own this place deserve a 5 star review from me. I will be back once a week just by myself with my dog and a book. I love this place

Truthfully, we live less than 3 miles from Loughlin Vineyards but did not know about it. We are very happy we found it. As noted in prior reviews it is completely tucked away off the main road. The vineyard has a very nice selection of wines, beers and canned cocktails. We had a tasty, albeit sweet rum punch, a nice IPA and a flight of wine. The wines were all very good. They have a food truck on premises with a good selection of the usual fare. The grounds are natural and relaxing. Sitting outside sipping drinks it was hard to believe we were less than 10 minutes from home. Well worth the drive from a farther distance however. Looking forward to going back during the day. The staff is helpful, friendly and attentive. Definitely check it out.

It took almost 30 minutes just to have our order taken, another 30 minutes for soup, another 30 minutes for the calamari appetizer, and yet another 30 minutes for our main dish, which was just a lobster roll. What should have been a simple meal turned into an unnecessarily long and frustrating wait. What made it worse was that our waitress didn't seem apologetic at all about how long everything was taking. In fact, she appeared much more attentive to the table next to us, who she seemed to know personally, while we were left waiting most of the time. To add to that, the water we asked for never even arrived. The experience ended on an uncomfortable note when we went to pay. Our card was flagged for possible fraud (likely because we're not from the area). While my husband was already pulling out cash to pay, a man wearing a beanie and chef jacket stood there in a pushy manner insisting we call the bank immediately while he waited. Between the extremely slow service, lack of attentiveness, and the uncomfortable payment interaction, the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. Save yourself the trip and the time -- we should have listened to the reviews before making the drive.

If that's the policy, then why are you accepting reservations for other patrons at the same time? Basic amenities like restroom access shouldn't be unavailable to paying customers. It's completely unreasonable to invite guests onto your property, take their reservation, and then tell them they can't use the restroom.
