Carolyn is detail-oriented, patient and smart. Our wedding had a lot of customization and details that required a planner that was highly organized. Wedding planning for an engaged couple is practically a second job in itself, but Carolyn made sure that planning was seamless and stress-free. Every single phone call, email, and meeting was managed efficiently and with ease. She is also very mindful of your stylistic needs while remaining within your budget. There will be no surprises when it comes down to your final numbers, as Carolyn clearly lists out your costs, using excel sheets comparing different vendor quotes, for you to consider. Furthermore, she even highlights these differences in a quick summary email to make the price analysis more efficient for you. One very important factor of our wedding was the food and stylistic presentation. I wanted mini beverage pairings with mini lobster rolls, mini gyros, etc. Carolyn handled our requests seamlessly with our caterer and every single idea was executed flawlessly, and deliciously. To show you even further, how Carolyn doesn't miss ANY detail, the day before the wedding, I asked Carolyn to place custom blankets on my seat and my husband's seat as a surprise to my husband. The blankets had quotes we say to each other. Low and behold, they were sitting nicely on both of our chairs. There are many planners, but not every planner can catch every single detail. This is going to be long, I apologize ahead of time. I knew the day I got engaged that we were going to hire a wedding planner. I had no idea what I was doing and didn't have the time or energy to figure it out. A friend recommended Lauren. We had an initial phone conversation followed by a preliminary meet and greet and I was sold. It was like I was talking to an old friend from college. We hired Lauren on spot as a full time planner. She helped us with EVERYTHING. She planned my engagement party, helped us pick vendors, scheduled meetings, attended meetings, helped with etiquette, listened to me rant and rave etc. Now, I am organized but she put me to shame. She managed all of our contracts, payments, meetings. She even reminded me of comments I had made about different vendors. My wedding wasn't your typical wedding. I decided to be a pain in the butt and get married the weekend that NATO was in Chicago. Everyone was freaking out. Should we postpone the wedding? change the location? Not Lauren. She had a back up plan for her back up plan. She provided everyone involved in the wedding a 10 page schedule. The schedule was literally down to the minute, starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday. She also made 3 different versions of the schedule for me: one for vendors, one for the bridesmaids and one for the groomsmen. She was so accomodating. She made our modern elegant light yellow and hot pink theme as gorgeous as I could have dreamed with black linens, yellow napkins and accents, and all hot pink orchids. The week of our wedding she sent the most detailed timeline down to every 10 minutes for the entire weekend. She gave copies to every single person involved in the rehearsal and bridal party. Everyone knew exactly when to be where, what time to be ready, and how the day would work. From the girls spa appointments and catering, to the mens golf outing, to the rehearsal flow, to the dinner and speeches and av equipment, to the morning of the wedding having every millionth vendor prepped and on time. She is just incredible. She was worth every dollar we spent on her because with her expertise, contacts, and negotiation skills saved us at least that much money. More than that, she gave us piece of mind. My father said it best when he said "Lauren was hands down the best investment we made for this wedding". She got all of our belongings from the wedding (cards, gifts, extra shoes, top of cake, leftover wine, veil, etc) back to our hotel room all set up, and left us the sweetest note. If I could give no stars for this company I would. We began planning our daughters wedding in the summer of 2019. The planned date of the wedding was August 29, 2020. Our daughter and her fiancé met the wedding planner, I will call her B, and they seemed to get along. We hired B, and at that time she was pregnant. We were told she was taking some maternity leave and would be in touch with us to keep things moving along. Well we did not hear from B for 4months. No one from the company contacted us and said we have someone that can pick up the ball from here. So we waited for B to come back to work, 5 months later. Then the pandemic hit. At that point nothing had been done. No meeting with any vendor, tasting, nothing. At that point the bride and groom were not sure when or where they could have their wedding so we cancelled with LK Events. I spoke to Lauren the owner and because of the lack of service given to us, she said she was willing to give us back some of our money. None has ever come and I spoke with Lauren a couple of times with regard to this. This was just a terrible experience from the start. No calls or checking in for 5 months. Do not use this company. Hiring Nicole from LK Events as my day-of wedding coordinator was the best wedding investment I made. Being the control freak I am, I knew I wouldn't need much help with the actual planning, but wanted someone to handle all the day-of stress and details. Especially with a lot of family coming in from out of town (and not necessarily used to getting around in a big city) Nicole was a godsend. She created and provided customized schedules to vendors, bridesmaids and groomsmen. She confirmed everything with vendors the week of the wedding (and put out several fires that could have been HUGE issues had she not been on top of them beforehand.) She and her assistant helped friends and family members get taxis from the church to the reception, made sure everything stayed as close to the schedule as possible (while staying calm and collected dealing with a major catering issue that threatened to throw the entire evening off and managing my impending freakout in the process.) She even tracked down my husband's ipod that he left on the trolley that we needed for our entrance to the reception. We had so much fun working with Nicole of LK Events on our wedding for the last year and a half. Lauren Knuepfer (the owner of LK Events) was seriously a rock star, we LOVED her! I highly recommend hiring LK Events to help plan or coordinate all of the details of your wedding day. In all honestly, my husband and I were originally skeptical about hiring a wedding coordinator. We had spent months planning all of the details of our wedding and we really thought that we could handle it all ourselves. However, some of our close friends and family members recommended that we look into hiring someone to help with coordinating the day of wedding so that we could relax on the big day, especially since we had hired so many vendors (florist, DJ, caterer, photographer, videographer, transportation company, etc.). So, reluctantly, I picked up the phone and called a few different companies. I am so glad that I called LK Events! From the moment I spoke to Lauren, she made me feel really comfortable and I knew she was the right match! Lauren is an absolute dream to work with. She is very friendly, reliable, detail-oriented and extremely organized...the perfect combination of qualities for a wedding coordinator. Not only did she create a timeline to help keep our day organized, but she also helped us with some of the remaining details that we hadn't finished, like picking out linens, etc. She really made us feel as though we were her only clients...we met a few times to discuss the details of the day and she also returned emails and phone calls promptly. Having worked in the catering business herself for 4-5 years and having worked at countless weddings, Lauren was able to offer lots of advice on things like decorating, vendor pricing, and etiquette. The weekend of the wedding itself, she and her assistant coordinated with all of the vendors to make sure everyone set up properly and arrived on time, oversaw the wedding rehearsal at the church, and generally made sure that everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding. I know this sounds silly, but I distinctly remember needing a pair of scissors to cut a tag out of my dress and "poof!" there was Lauren handing me a pair. She thought of everything! She even went above and beyond the call of duty by helping the groomsman orchestrate a surprise for my husband and I at the reception, unbeknownst to us. At the end of the night, LK Events made sure all the loose ends were tied up (top of cake saved, etc.) and made sure all of our belongings made it back to our hotel. All of my bridesmaids were talking about how fabulous Lauren and her team were on our wedding day so I know LK Events will have new clients in the next few years in my group of friends. LK Events is truly the best in the business. I worked with Allison and she was truly the best thing that ever happened to us. Without Allison and the team my wedding would not have been as amazing as it truly was! Allison was so organized, helpful and thought of every little thing that I would have totally forgotten. She also really helped me with delegating tasks and managing the vendor relationships. She set up all of my meetings to make sure everything was on track to run smoothly. She also sent us a very detailed agenda the day of so we knew exactly what to expect. When our venue had a change in Sales Managers she was on it to reassure us that everything was going to be perfect (and it was). She has great relationships with everyone in the business and she'll give you her honest opinion of who she thinks you should use. She was so prompt with answering questions and we asked her advice, she always had amazing ideas. I can't say enough kind things. read more

Lauren recommended her colleague Lara and she was a wonderful addition to our wedding team. She was reassuring, confident and proactive. She had many useful ideas, contacts and tools to help us stay organized. The venue we used kept saying we didn't need a coordinator but nothing could have been further from the truth. There are a myriad of details and minutia required to make a wedding go flawlessly and without Lara and her team it would have not gone nearly as well as it did. I can't say we achieved that fully but luckily nothing that changed how perfect the day was for everyone. LK and Lara were flexible, had excellent resources and made us feel as if there was nothing they wouldn't have done to make the day special for our bride. The MOH was just saying today that Lara and her 'minions' kept reassuring her she was doing great and it was exactly what she needed when she was worried she was letting the bride down. I am terribly late in posting this review (it has been a whirlwind since our vows, but things are FINALLY starting to slow down!), but better late than never! As an uber busy student, I knew I needed a full planner for my wedding, and after a family friend recommended LK Events, I happily signed on to work with Nicole. SHE IS THE BEST! My husband and I had a particularly drawn out road to the wedding day (for real- it ended up being a two year process) and Nicole was there every step of the way. Not only did she have terrific recommendations for vendors (I have to say, I ended up with the BEST team for my wedding, better than I could have ever imagined and people I hope to continue having contact with), but she was an incredible person as well, and I enjoyed her personality as well as her fabulous professional abilities. I owe her a giant thank you for such a wonderful and love filled journey, and a wedding day that people still talk about (and one that I feel just as joyous about four months out as I did the day of...probably even more so, actually!). I cannot recommend LK Events and Nicole enough, and I would give them 5 gazillion stars if Yelp would let me. :) read more

Lauren planned our wedding from the get go after we had picked a venue and she did a spectacular job. We were planning from Boston for a wedding in Chicago and I only made 3 trips out prior to the wedding (we planned over about a year) and my husband only made 2 trips. We were able to get everything done in those trips including 3 tasting and a re-tasting, cake tastings, multiple florist appointments (including a sample), meeting the DJ, meeting the photographer, my hair and makeup trials. She had an answer for all our questions. She coordinated everything for the rehearsal dinner and the day of, and the wedding day was super stress free for both of us. She had a crazy organized schedule. We were able to do most of the planning via email and a few phone appointments. Every vendor that Lauren recommended was spectacular. We only had to talk to 1 DJ before we booked and 1 photographer. We also had the best caterer and baker for our cake. She was able to coordinate our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hr, and our reception without a hitch. When we weren't sure what the weather was going to be like, she did a dual set up, and then when the weather looked good, called us to tell us it would be outside, and we didn't have to worry about a thing. The day of the wedding was so stress free for me as the bride. I enjoyed every minute of my wedding and our pictures reflect that (we both look very stress free) and all our family and friends could tell how much we were enjoying ourselves. There were things that came up during the day, and I didn't have to deal with any of it. Lauren also found us vendors within our budget and worked with us to help us stay within our budget and had some creative suggestions about things that saved us a lot of money but we were able to do everything we wanted. She has great relationships with vendors as well and EVERYONE we spoke to loved her. Would definitely recommend her as a planner. She will make your wedding amazing and also make it the best day ever! read more
