We just completed the installation of new floors as part of updating a condo that we just moved into. From the very beginning, Duane at the Palm Desert store was wonderful and so helpful from our first trip into the store. If Duane wasn't in on a particular day, Kevin and Martin were great in picking up where Duane left off. It was very apparent that they worked as a team. Every time I had a question, one of them could help me. The 4 days of installation were he to and dusty to say the least but the two installers were two of the most hardworking guys I have seen in ages. They would work 10 1/2 - 12 hr days with only a lunch break. They worked so well together and at many times one would tackle one portion of the house while the other tackled another area. At the end of the project they cleaned up the patio area very well which was their work area for cutting as well as each room as they completed the floor installation. They will try to sell you whatever it is that they have in stock. Even if you give them the model number (358 pine baseboard) you are looking for, they will tell you they have it, and when you waste your time and gas to drive there to pick it up they will tell you that they don't have it but you can have something else that is not even remotely close. This business was a bit hard to find. It's tucked away in a business complex with quite a few business that didn't halve clear signage. Once we found it (close to the 10 freeway) we ventured inside. We were there to find out about the flooring in our recently purchased home. We've had some lifting of our tiles that had nothing to do with the quality of the flooring. The young man working alone explained to us how our floor was put together, and how we would need to repair it if we needed to do that. I was pleased with the customer service. The young man did take a couple of phone calls which was fine with us. He was working alone, and we understood him taking care of two customers at the same time. It gave us time to browse the floor samples and daydream of a different color flooring in the event we needed to replace our current flooring. Great product but the employees lied to us straight out. We bought some flooring and was told that we could return unused product. Get back to the store and was told no. Discontinued item. No one said it was discontinued or that there would be a problem returning it. Find any other store, but not this place. Then lying that they said it was a final sale. I would have remembered that and not "if you dont need all of it and its unopened bring it back"so there is a flooring store across the drive. Shop there. Customer service once you leave the store was non-existent for me. I picked out a product last Saturday and was told someone would call to schedule and inspection and installation cost valuation. I've called every day since to try and facilitate this to no avail. I left in person messages for Martin and with Martin directly twice and was told, i'm/he's with a customer and Would call right back . The call back never came. We recently purchased flooring for our second bedroom/office from Lumber Liquidators. We also contracted to have the floor installed thru them. We were trying to get a floor similar to our Master bedroom. We did just that. When it came time to move forward with the project, I contacted the store and spoke with Martin. He handled our transactions very professionally. He is super friendly and helpful. We were also very happy that the flooring went on sale right before the purchase. Our project was rather small....the room isn't very big. We weren't treated like small potatoes!!! We are so happy with the floor, it looks beautiful. I just purchased my first home and knew I wanted to try out click in flooring but had no no clue where to start. I looked at a couple places, even ordered some samples online. I ended up going with Lumber Liquidators, not just because of their competitive prices but because from the first time I was there to now the 5th time I've been there Nick has been beyond helpful. Nick was very knowledgeable and didn't waste my time. Nick was very helpful in finding the perfect floor for my house needs. He also was very nice even though I called a couple times with some questions while I was installing the floor myself. I would recommend this store to anyone needing new floors. After seeing an ad on TV touting the great Labor Day sale, I trekked on down and purchased 210 feet of Brazilian Walnut for a home office renovation. The manager explained to me this was a closeout and will be shipped from the factory and be available for pickup in 21 days at the Palm Desert branch. Since it seemed like I good deal I put my project on hold and waited patiently. September 23rd I get a call explaining they "oversold" that product and I should come get a refund. LAME! They didn't even offer to substitute an in stock material or work with me. I'm disappointed with LL and their poor customer service! *** Update 9/27/10: John the Palm Desert LL manager phoned and let me know he located my Brazilian Walnut after all. According to him it is being loaded on the truck from an east coast warehouse and I should expect to see it soon. That's great news! I'll update the story (and overall ratings) after I get it installed. *** Final Update 11/11/10 Wood finally installed on the floor. Looks very nice but I got an earful from my handyman who installed it. He complained of significant inconsistencies in the width of the plank, irregular groves depths, and a couple other nits which I scrutinized and concurred with. It made installation much more labor intensive and ultimately a bit more costly. Wouldn't say I'd buy from LL again. 2 stars is generous. read more

Pretty WONDERFUL! YAY! My husband and I just recently decided to move forward w/getting our entire upstairs carpeting replaced with solid wood floors. As we are on vacation in the desert area (from OC), we got the address to several floor places and were BY FAR, the most impressed with this Lumber Liquidators (now known also as LL Flooring). It was hard to find this store as it is literally nested at the farthest end of retail complex - but a VERY WORTHWHILE find!!! We thought that we would simply check their stock, their prices and be on our way, but Mgr Jonathan was a friendly "coach" who truly became a reliable consultant and gave us incredible ideas, insight and counseled us to think beyond our initial thoughts! What a treasure! And his associate, Martin was equally available to us. We feel much more confident in making this expenditure with LL Flooring. They offered reliable options and creative solutions (which Jonathan showed pictures of!) for our house. And, the BEST PART? They seem to specialize in MADE IN USA products! Nice! read more

Walked in here and was completely ignored by the staff. Even standing right in front of their register, and I got no help. The two men in the store focused on the other customers without asking if I needed assistance. I walked out and went across the way to Maxx Industries and got excellent customer service. By far the worst consumer experience I've had in 10 years. Don't bother calling, because if they answer the phone at all, they will put you on hold for 20+ minutes before you finally hang up. Don't go to the store because there will probably be a sign in the window that says they will be back in 30 minutes...even though they probably will not. Don't order floors because their invoice will be wrong over and over and over again, and it will take forever for the materials to show up--if at all. Don't make an appointment for the installation, because they will not keep the appointment. Don't expect the installers to finish the floors if they show up, because they won't and you will be tripping over uneven floors for weeks...possibly months. BUYER BEWARE!! Service started off well but after one of their floor boards separated they completely disappeared. Could not get the store or their corporate office to even respond to my requests to rectify, (suppose to have a 50 year guarantee, but could get 8 months guarantee). Product would be good if they could back up any defective planks problems with as much enthusiasm as they had in the sales process. I was trying to get my floors done by Home Depot but I can never seem to find help there. I saw a commercial for this place so my husband and I drove to Palm Desert from the high desert. We were helped right away it was great. They were very knowledgeable and friendly, I even got a credit card for 18mo 0%. When our floors came in we had to sit them box open in the room that they were going to be installed in for 14 days so they can adjust to the temp and humidity in our home which was kinda annoying but I guess that's normal. The installers came and they were awesome moved out all my furniture (my husband is a busy man he doesnt have time) we had to pay for that though but they were very careful and also did a great clean up when finished. Ok my few complaints about this place is why I didnt give 5 stars : 1st you have to pick up your own materials when your order comes in, thank God I have a husband and a truck. 2nd we had to go there twice because the new guy forgot to order us all our materials we needed which slowed down our installation process. Imagine big boxes of wood sitting in my living room and a 3yr old constantly touching them. 3rd the price, we only have 250 sq food living room and the price just kept getting higher and higher, then after they install you have to pay for that too, It was confusing because I didnt understand why that was not included when I picked up the materials for the 2nd time. So I guess I'm kinda at a 50/50 with this place. Oh ya they forgot to put me on the call list to set up installation so I had to end up calling them. read more

The customer service is very poor. I have been told that they would call me back multiple times over the course of 3 weeks and they never do. I suspect my flooring is in the warehouse by now but again no one is calling me. I got my floor very cheap on sale. I will not use or recommend Lumber Liquidators store #174, Palm Desert, CA for future flooring projects. I have received better service and information on previous projects. Installation team shows up to 2 hours late. The first day on the job the supervisor began making changes to the scope of the contract without first discussing it with owner. It is obvious he did not visit the work site prior to the first day on the job. Staff does not return calls timely if at all. They remove kitchen appliances; however, they do tell you that they do not return the appliances. I am disappointed with the poor service and I do not trust what they say is quality information. read more

First of all they saved me more than $2000 on the material that was better quality than the competitors that I had gotten estimates from (6 others) saving money when you are a senior widow on limited income is a very big deal. Added to the fact that I know nothing about flooring to start with ! Stay away from this "corporation." They are the least helpful, most dismissive corporate run-around I've experienced lately. In the middle of a home renovation project, they stopped selling the flooring we had used. They have 1200 sq ft of it in their warehouse, but refuse to sell me the final 200 sq ft as their "corporate" decided not to see it. After repeatedly being disconnected from their, and I love it, "Customer Care" line, I finally reached some clown who seemed to take delight in telling me no, over and over again. When asked to speak to his manager, he said they would all tell me the same thing, but they were all in a meeting and then hung up again. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! read more
