We came here with high hopes as the reviews looked good. When we arrived, we were pretty…read moredisappointed. This place is very run down and dirty. There were several toys that were broken, worn, or missing. Pieces of trash and small toy parts were on the floor. My toddler picked up a small piece of plastic off the floor and thankfully handed it to me instead of putting it in his mouth. Parents were not required to remove shoes in a lot of the play area, so kids were crawling and playing on a dirty floor. Several of the toys in the toddler section were visibly dirty. Overall, was bummed. They need to replace a lot of the toys and have staff walk the floor more often to check for small pieces of trash and broken toys. Staff was nice. We won't be back.

They use Brightweel where they tell you if they changed her diaper, they send you pictures, she naps comfortably, and they give your child plenty of snacks throughout the day along with breakfast (I drop her off early in the morning) and lunch! They go outside sometimes to play with chalk, plenty of toys to play with, they play out in the big main area, color, etc....and she is well taken care of. They ask about routines. And overall this has been an amazing experience and they watch your children as if they are your own! My daughter will snuggle up with them because she is comfortable and well taken care of. I use the flex day care because we don't need full time day care, only when my husband and I had to work at the same time! As a worried working mommy I am so blessed, grateful, and relieved I found this place! They are the best!!

The slide isn't always staffed, but when it is, it's super fun... even as a grown up :-) They have a rock wall, track for walking/running, and offer fitness classes. My mom likes doing the circuit of machines up in the weight lifting area. There's lots of cardio equipment. I usually prefer the free weights and non-circuit resistance machines for my workouts, and I've found everything I needed at this YMCA. Staff and members are all friendly, and I've never felt uncomfortable working out here. Sometimes you end up weighting for weights or machines, especially during peak times, but that's pretty much how it goes at any gym. Membership is $50/month for one person, or I believe $80/month for two, so a bit of savings. Considering everything you have access to with a membership, it's honestly not a bad deal. I have paid as much or more for gyms with way fewer amenities, let alone for a yoga or pilates studio. Definitely a good option.

I will say it is a bit pricey, but they have financial assistance for people who are needing it, and when I lost my job we paid based on how much we made so cost doesn't have to be a factor preventing you from going to an inclusive community center for all ages. The YMCA in West Boise offers a great experience for any newcomer to the gym or long time veterans who are just coming in to work out.

Pulled him out put him another pre-school where he's done great. Day 1 they told my wife we should test him for ADHD. I was like it's his first day ever of school how do they know? But we asked our pediatrician anyway. He said he is high energy and they can't test a kid until they are older. He told us though he would surprised if he had any issues talking to him during the checkup. Said he was just a regular boy with high energy. We communicated this back to the school. They kept trying to force us to do 2 days a week had us come in to see how much "trouble" my son was. So I took work off and my wife and I went in with me. We stayed the entire class. Was my son perfect. No he was barely 4. He also was testing some boundaries. They asked him to do things he didn't always do it if he didn't want to. Afterwards discussing this I said I thought there were some moments and explained what works for us at home, but he seemed fine. They said that day he was really great and usually it was worse than that day and still pushed for 2 days a week as it was smaller class and he could get more focus. I said we were fine and we would keep working on it. Finally they called my wife to get him as he was "danger to the class". They had her come pick him up in the middle of the day said they had him on video biting a kid if she wanted to see. She said yes. They showed her the video. She saw him and another kid playing a little rough and they fell over she then saw he did put his mouth on the kids arm. My son at the time when he hurt his older sister would kiss her on the arm. I don't know but he did it lot. My wife explained this they said. Know the kid was bit. She asked if she could see the kids are if there was a mark. They said no and there would be no mark as the kid was wearing a jacket. My wife says the video that kid had no jacket on. They were like still he bit him and there's no mark take him home. My wife asked if they could apologize to the kid first. She had my son apologize and she saw no mark. Now my kid was barley 4 could he have bit this kid. Yes of course. Was he really a danger and needed to be sent home? No! Maybe if there was He cried most the rest the day and kept saying he was terrible (never said this before). He kept this up every time he would get in trouble for months it was the saddest thing. I asked him to show me on my arm what he did when I got home from work. He kissed my arm. Again I am not saying he couldn't have but what bullcrap to treat a kid like this. I immediately pulled him out. Took a couple months to get him find another school we liked what they said and they had opening. We did get him in somewhere else and we explained the whole thing to them. They said they were sure they could handle him and would keep an eye on things. After a couple months the staff there said he has the best social skills in the class. He is doing great. Is he hyper and pushes boundaries yes. And they work on it with him. Has he been violent. They said he and some other boys sometime do push but usually he doesn't push back unless they really keep bothering him. The format of curriculum at his new school is better for him. But they said he is doing well and excelling. The difference in how they reacted to him and the feedback was night and day. I would not recommend Leap Ahead pre-school to anyone avoid like the plague go somewhere else even if it costs more. Stay away!!!!

I graduated from Rocky Mountain High School years ago, but my experience there still affects me…read moretoday. Throughout my time at the school I was subjected to severe bullying from other students. I was regularly insulted, called names, and told to kill myself. Physical assaults happened multiple times a month, and in my experience the students responsible often faced little or no consequences. One example that still stands out: a student sitting behind me stabbed me in the back with a pencil during class. I yelled because it hurt, and I ended up receiving in-school suspension for swearing while the student who stabbed me received no punishment. Situations like that happened repeatedly. When incidents were reported, I was often told my parents would be informed, but later I learned they were not. The most painful part was the feeling that many teachers and staff simply didn't care. In one case, a teacher told me I should drop out and that the most I would ever achieve was being a waiter. Comments like that from someone in a position of authority were incredibly damaging. School should be a place where students feel safe and supported. Instead, my experience was that bullying was ignored and sometimes the victims were punished. The environment had a serious negative impact on my physical, emotional, and mental health. I hope the school has improved since I attended, but based on my experience I cannot recommend it. No student should have to go through what I experienced there.
