We used Founders for a wedding reception and absolutely loved our reception. The location is beautiful, and everything was handled very efficiently. For appearance, location, and execution of the event, I would give them five stars. I didn't really enjoy the planning with them because the staff is a bit unapproachable, definitely impatient, and frankly, just a little too snooty to overlook. I was grateful to have a wedding planner who handled most of the contact with them. I'm a people person, and I can tell you, you won't get the warm fuzzies from this crowd. Food is handled by their catering company, which is technically separate, but Founders provides the beverages- sort of a strange dichotomy- and they don't really have a great selection in terms of wine and beer. They are also slightly higher on those items than most other comparable venues. For planning and customer service I give them two stars. I would like to point out that the servers were excellent and very friendly to our guests, but they were provided through the catering company that did the food. We also enjoyed working with the caterer to plan our menus, but again, she works at the catering company rather than for Founders Hall itself.

Since they are only 1/2 mile away from my house and I used them in 2013, I thought it would be easy to do so again. I was wrong! I walked in their showroom and two women were sitting behind the counter. I began a discussion with the Owner, Liz, on what I needed. She came out from behind the counter to show me what they had available by pointing those things out on the showroom floor. They no longer rent umbrella tables (understandable), but Liz kept referring to tables she and her husband ordered at a trade show that were supposed to be in that week. She said she thought they held umbrellas, but wasn't sure. She said she would have to talk to her husband to confirm and get back to me. Liz stated that the minimum order for delivery is $200. After going back and forth on different scenarios that included tables with and without umbrellas, we arrived at an amount just over the $200 minimum in either scenario. When we began to discuss when I would need the equipment delivered, she was clear in letting me know that delivery would be tricky because my $200 order couldn't delay a $600 order because they would lose money. Without warning, she asked me, "Well, what kind of car do you drive?" When I told her it's a convertible Camaro, she asked me, "Well, what kind of car do your kids drive?" Um, none of your business! Is $200 the minimum order for delivery or not? She went on to say that if I knew someone with a truck or SUV, I could have them pick up and drop off the equipment. After the above discussion, we went back to the front desk and she started giving me delivery and pick up dates. After having decided on a delivery and pick up date, she reneged! She said that the calendar was tight and they would be moving some things around and she would call me to let me know 1) whether or not the tables held umbrellas and 2) when they could deliver and pick up the equipment. She said until then, she couldn't give me a quote. I left. This was on Tuesday. Fast forward to Friday...she never called me. I called the store and explained my situation to the woman that answered the phone. She said she would call Liz and get back to me. She called me back and let me know that the tables weren't coming in. She then asked if I wanted to place a partial order by getting the balance of the equipment I wanted (chairs, tablecloths, hi boys, etc.) with them and I could get the tables somewhere else. I kindly declined the partial order. ! I found that to be very tacky! Liz didn't even bother calling me back to let me know the tables weren't coming in. I'm not surprised as she was very dismissive of my $200 order while I was in the showroom. I called "It's My Party Rentals" in Alpharetta. Although they didn't have the tables with umbrellas, they referred me to "Suburban Party Rental" because she thought they may rent them. I called Suburban Party Rental, and they have the tables and will be delivering my entire $300 order from Marietta (approx. 10 miles away).

Review of Roswell Historic Hall: A Bride's Nightmare…read more I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the service provided by Roswell Historic Hall during our wedding reception on April 27, 2024. Our experience was far below the expectations set during our initial meetings, leading to numerous issues that marred what should have been a joyous occasion. Shuttle Service: The shuttle service was a disaster. Despite scheduling pick-up times, the shuttle was over an hour late. Elderly guests, some requiring walkers and canes, were left standing for long periods. Many guests ended up walking to the venue, crossing Alpharetta Highway, which was unsafe and unacceptable. Additionally, several groups of guests waited over an hour for the shuttle to leave after the event, with the driver nowhere to be found. My father and other guests had to personally search for the driver behind the bar multiple times. Police Officer & Staff: Despite paying $500 for a police officer, no officer was present. This was a clear breach of our contract, and I demand an immediate refund. Initially, there was no bartender at the cocktail service, leaving guests to serve themselves. My friend had to ask for help with the margarita machine, only to be told to calm down when she needed assistance. The waitstaff were largely absent, choosing to hang out in the kitchen and tent area instead of serving guests. Food and Beverage: The quality and quantity of the food were extremely disappointing. The charcuterie display was tacky and insufficient for our 160 guests. Many guests, including my daughter, went hungry. The cocktail hour spread fell far short of what was promised. I had to ask for more food to be put out, which should not have been necessary. The champagne toast was another fiasco; I had to text you to start opening the champagne despite our prior discussion. Decorations and Cakes: The cookie table was not placed as agreed and was nearly empty when I checked it. I had to restock it myself, which is unacceptable. The cakes were displayed without any decorations, and the cake topper was not placed until I did it myself. The cake was not distributed to guests, resulting in a $700 loss as many guests did not receive any, and we had no leftovers to freeze for our anniversary. Organization: Throughout the evening, I had to make numerous phone calls and texts to address issues that should have been managed by your team. My husband and I repeatedly had to go behind the bar and kitchen to locate servers and items, causing unnecessary stress and disrupting the flow of the evening. You even approached me several times to ask if you could leave, despite knowing the event was not going well. Overall Experience: In summary, the level of service provided during our wedding was unacceptable. It tarnished what should have been a beautiful day and caused unnecessary stress and disappointment for us and our guests. The numerous failures in meeting the agreed-upon expectations have led me to demand a 30% refund of the total amount paid, which is $5,310. I expect a prompt response and resolution to this matter. I strongly urge you to address these issues to prevent similar experiences for future clients. This was supposed to be one of the most memorable days of our lives, and the service provided by Roswell Historic Hall was a complete failure. Message me if you'd like to discuss my experience.
