I purchase a 6 inch baby Kenyan sand boa on Monday (it is now Friday) and he has passed away from IBD - EXTREMELY INFECTIOUS, all animals in that shop need to be quarantined. Do not buy reptiles from here unless you want to get attached to them and lose them in a week. I've also seen lots of reviews about their snakes having mites. I would take the mites over the suffering I had to watch. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE PLEASE. read more

My only complaint is one of the sales people tried to push a higher priced heat lamp with a stand for my pet when a clamp light would do just fine. Sales people should consider the budget of the buyer before making suggestions. Yes the heat lamp with a stand is nice but it didn't fit my budget or my living situation. A simple clamp lamp worked for me. This sales person tried to come up with reasons for suggesting the heat lamp but again, a simple clamp lamp worked just fine. This place is awesome! They have everything you need. I have a bearded dragon and I get her mealworms from here. They last a very long time and they get big and juicy. My bear die looooves their mealworms. I used to go to petsmart bite third are skinny and die off quick you. I think for 100 mealworms it was $14 which isn't bad because it cost $8 for 50 at petsmart. Overall, this place is a one stop shop for reptiles. However what I like the most are the people who work there. They educated on the animals and will even have a feeding time for their tarantulas and let you watch. I would definitely recommend! read more

Too bad Yelp doesn't have a no-star rating...... We visited LLLReptile & Supply in Peoria, AZ on 5/29/2023. We were looking at their tarantulas/slings and noticed no less, and I am not exaggerating, 10 tarantulas slings that were dead. The enclosures at LLLReptile & Supply in Peoria, were sitting on a heated pad, under bright lights and were dry as a bone. We pulled out the small enclosures with the dead slings and notified the staff. The young lady was very apologetic but this is a reptile pet shop and they should be better taken care of. It's just sad the slings were left to die. As tarantula collectors we have been in a lot of reptile stores looking for tarantulas and only one time have we seen a dead tarantula in an enclosure, but 10 is absolute neglect. We will never shop at LLLReptile & Supply in Peoria again. read more

Our local reptile store near our house closed down and we've been searching for new one when we came across LLLReptile. The employees are so friendly and helpful and we can always find what we are looking for. They helped guide us with building a vivarium for my 3 adult dumpy tree frogs. They are also one of the only stores that has the Whites tree frogs! My boyfriend and I went in on Sunday and found 2 new babies to add to our family! We get mice/rats here for our snake as well and have always been pleased. We will definitely keep coming back and recommending them to everyone! read more

I don't even know where to begin. I started off loving this place , my boys immediately fell in love with this place and so did I because the staff was so kind and helpful. I first visited the store a little over a month ago. My son fell in love with a Greek tortoise. Such a cute tiny little tortoise. I knew a little bit about tortoises but not too much however the staff helped me with telling me some information about Greek tortoises and I did some research of my own once I got home. The next day we decided to get our little tortoise and bring him home. The staff helped me with showing me what was needed. From the heat lamp, fluorescent light , the enclosure, the bedding . I purchased everything at LLLREPTILE. The enclosure was big however the person who helped us said it would work well and our tortoise would grown into it so it would last many years. We spent about $600 for everything. I didn't care .... We had a new little tortoise that we planned to keep for a lifetime ... fast forward to today, my tortoise Bowser is dying. Shell is going soft, he won't open his eyes, won't eat , barely moves. About a week ago I called the store , a gentleman asked for me to come in and to bring in Bowser which I did. He immediately felt the soft spots on Bowser and he suggested I give him calcium powder which I have been giving him . Later that day I posted on a tortoise forum as well FB , I come to find out ... the enclosure I purchased was too big, the heat lamp was the WRONG one , the fluorescent light was WRONG , the thermometer gauge was the WRONG one. Which all are very important keeping a tortoise alive . I purchased all of these items because that is what was recommended to me by the staff. I was informed because of the light and heat lamp and too big of an enclosure Bowser was not getting enough heat, enough light (apparently the light that I purchased that was recommended to me was useless) and in to big of an enclosure. All of it wrong. Now I'm dealing with a tortoise that is slowly dying. I just wish I would have never put so much trust in people. I blame myself for believing I was getting correct information. I should have done more research before taking the staffs word for what I needed. There is nothing I can do at this point . There is a 3 day policy , it's already been over a month. Lesson learned. The LLLReptile & Supply store in Peoria is like no other. Cooper, Josh, Justin and Toni work hard everyday to make it such a welcoming and helpful environment. My fellow reptile keeper and I have gotten several reptiles including a leopard gecko, green anole, green iguana, fire skink, sand boa, and almost all of our reptile husbandry supplies from this location and these awesome guys. All the animals in the shop are super healthy and well looked after and the shop itself is always clean with great music playing. We get all of the feeder insects/mice and powdered gecko food from this location as well as all of our reptile supplements. We have never been disappointed with the atmosphere of the shop, the customer service, the product selection, or received any broken or damaged products or ill animals/feeders. My recommendation though, is to be sure you keep an active, running total before going to check out and review the pricing on the check-out terminal before tendering payment -- ALWAYS get a receipt. Well intended as the staff very well may be, I am sad to report several back to back instances of hurried (presumably unintended) oversight both in relation to charge against marked price, as well as correct classification of bulk feeders (namely, wax worms in lieu of calcium - unnoticed until later, due to packaging in an unmarked cup). In conclusion: Double check running total before tendering payment, do not take word for law in respect to packaged feeder supplies without verifying the classification of the insect(s) first. read more

The place is usually alright. I haven't bought any animals so I can't speak on that but I come here to get my feeders. They're usually fine, sometimes missing a foot or have club feet. Yesterday when I went in for my frozen rats the medium I got have a cut open neck. Blood pooled inside the plastic bag it came in and the body was covered in blood. I don't really want to feed my constrictor a rat covered in fresh blood. I called in asking if I could get a replacement and they said it's common for feet and tails to break off when the rat hits something. This rats neck is still intact by the spine. At first the guy on the phone was going to take my information down to get a small rat. But I needed the medium so when I said that he said "oh we won't get anything for 2 weeks and we can't do cash back returns either" Didn't offer to hold my info for 2 weeks either so that's pretty lame read more

Peoria shop is a nice size (I live in San Diego and typically go to the Mission Gorge shop). It seemed understaffed though; when the doors opened in the morning, there was one person at the register and one person with the cricket bin feeding animals. I watched a hype child of about 11 insist on holding a tarantula. The staff member feeding the animals said no. The staff member at the register said the girl could hold the tarantula. The child and her mother had no tarantula experience. The poor tarantula was dropped twice. read more

Disappointed that depending on who you talk to you get a different answer. My son and I came in to get a pet for him, we asked about bearded dragons and how to care for them. The guy we talked to was great, gave us a lot of information to think about. We decided to go back a few days later to get one and all the stuff we needed. There was a different kid working that gave us completely different information. At first we thought great we have more information to help us be successful bearded dragon owners. My son went around the store selecting items we talked about the first visit. The last thing we needed to do was decided which little dragon was going to come home with us. We brought our supplies to the counter, we were told half of the things we had were wrong.I asked why we got such different information, sadly this guy chose to say some not very kind words about his co-worker. While I understand that every person has their own level of knowledge and experience, belittling a person who has different ideas in a professional setting was not cool. read more

Just went into store. Prob 10th time I've been there to purchase feeders. Today one person was working. 20+ people in the store. Stood at front counter for over 10 min with at least 4 other customers ready to check out. He got a phone call and continued to chat and walk around the store while literally ignoring everyone who was physically in the store trying to spend money. I said excuse me there are several people ready to check out and said he was on the phone while walking around. Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've spent about $200 there in the last two weeks and needed a UVB light and more feeders but apparently they don't care about selling. Chatting on the phone while not making any money must be more important than actual customers standing in front of you. read more
