I have never had to leave a negative review in my life. As a business owner I understand the difficulty's involved in having a seamless and pleasant customer service. however after several attempts to come to a resolution on an issue I feel this is my only option.
Went into the Lenexa store purchased over $6,500 worth of parts.
seen a set of TMI door panels in the clearance area. The box said they would fit my build (84 gmc truck) I asked the counter sales people and manager. They confirmed they would fit my build. So at this point I decide to purchase not only the door panels but also added a TMI dash, and TMI seat.
we install the dash, and seat(had to make the mounting bracket, purchasing would take 3monthes to get) then went to install the door panels. Soon as we remove them from the box we notice the instructions say 67-72 Chevy truck. Obviously they were boxed wrong. So we contact LMC they say no problem send them back and we will refund you. But we can not sell you the correct ones since we no longer carry TMI products. So I contact TMI. They say they can make the door panels we need but it'll take 16 weeks to receive.... so now I'm stuck with a TMI dash, and seat that we have installed $3,000 worth of product. And don't get the correct door panels to match for 3 months.
we told the customer service representative on the phone and in email that the only reasonable solution is for us to modify the panels and request a refund. The customer service agent said they doubt we would get a full refund but we can address the situation when we get to that point.
we are not new to the automotive restoration world so we make the decision to move forward with modifying the incorrect door panels to make them work. it took us about 6 hours to modify the fiberglass, leather, lock rod holes, handle brackets, and the template to install them. 6 hrs at our rate is $500. (we requested 1/2 that $250) as a store credit so we could apply to our future purchases. I think this is fair.
after several emails LMC has decided that our trouble at their expense is only worth $100 gift card to their store.
if this is how you value your customers time, their builds quality, and their company's image you can keep your $100 and lose our business. You are no longer the only game in town.
sincerely disappointed customer,
