You can obviously buy a $215 kit online and do the headliner yourself if you have the tools and time, but I was willing to spend $600 for them to do it and I was glad I did. Looks great now. What I was told would be two day repair for my timing chain turned into a month-long experience with my car sitting in the shop. Communication was inconsistent at times, and I often felt in the dark about what was really happening. The shop initially quoted me around $2,600, then revised it to $4100 and offered a $800 discount. The total ended up at $3,908. During the repair, I was told that my dowel pin had broken in the camshaft, which required additional work. I receive a text message saying my car was ready for pickup. I came paid my balance in full. Less than a hundred feet of leaving out the parking lot my check engine light was back on and problem still existed. Im thankful I caught it in time because it was a Friday and they are closed on weekends. So it would have been my word against there's when it came time with correcting the problem. When I arrived for pickup today, the shop stated they waived an additional $800 fee for a solenoid recalibration/replacement that was directly related to the timing chain work they had just performed. I feel strongly that this should have been included in the original service and not presented as an "extra" charge after I had already paid. To their credit, I really appreciated the friendliness of the two administrative assistants, who went above and beyond to help me. They provided me with a shuttle ride home when I dropped off my car, even paid for me an Uber to pick up the loaner vehicle, and made sure I had a loaner car for the month while mine was being repaired. Those accommodations meant a lot during a very long process. The shop also test drove my car for 40+ minutes before releasing it, and the check engine light has not come back on yet. I appreciate that they ultimately covered the $800 charge, but overall the experience left me questioning trust, timelines, and transparency. If you use this shop, know that while they will work with you and provide support, you'll need to ask a lot of questions, push back on extra fees, and keep good records. The repair seems to be holding for now, but the process was much more difficult and drawn out than it should have been.

I've been working on vehicles and restoring cars for decades, so I have a pretty good sense of when I'm dealing with a quality shop. Carson's checks all the boxes. The owners are great people--honest, knowledgeable, and clearly take pride in doing the job right. What stood out most to me was their integrity. They had no idea about my background and could have easily quoted me anything for the project I discussed with them--something I've unfortunately seen happen at other shops where estimates come in at double the book rate, or more! That wasn't the case here. They gave me a fair, straightforward quote based on book time and took the time to explain exactly how they would approach the work. That level of transparency and professionalism goes a long way. If you're in the Northland and need work done on your car or truck, I'd absolutely recommend giving Carson's a shot. It's really hard to find an auto shop that makes me feel this comfortable given I have little knowledge about cars. I needed 2 tires replaced and call other places in town to get a quote and it was hard to get straight answer from anyone. I just needed an estimation and nothing has to be set in stone but I felt like no-one could do that. So I asked Jeff at Revline for an estimate and had a few other questions he was able to answer them and that made me feel comfortable about making an appointment and order the tires I needed. I felt like the price he quoted was fair and the approximate time for the service to be complete was definitely reasonable. I highly recommend giving them a call here if you ever need any work done on your car. They will do a great job and won't waste the whole day doing it.

I paid for it and towed my car to another shop that I know is thorough. I just had to wait a week to get an appointment, which fine because I can't drive it anyway. Exact Performance wanted to change out the timing belt, but I'm not sure that would have fixed it. The car was having issues that didn't quite align with timing chain problems. It was a waste of time. Spend your money elsewhere.

I was definitely taking a chance with Exact and here is my experience: First Impressions: My brother recommended Exact when I was shopping around for brake repair a couple years ago. The shop is located on Johnson Drive, next to a new car wash. We dropped my car off right around 8:30. The shop is easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. Dillon was very welcoming and he confirmed what services I needed. The shop was nice and clean and Dillon was very organized. Communication: I appreciated the phone call before any service was done to my car. They allowed us time to decide what we wanted to do before continuing and Dillon was very understanding. He wasn't pushy like the dealerships and I didn't feel pressured to make any decisions. The price is nice: I did not get tires, as they were more expensive than I thought, but for an oil change and front brakes, my bill was a little over $200. Their prices on timing belt replacement and other maintenance work was way cheaper than the Acura dealership, which is impressive. Overall: I will be back. The pricing alone was it for me. Acura quoted me well over a grand for maintenance work, new tires, and brakes on my car. Dillon's prices were half of that, which I can handle. They do specialize in imports, so keep that in mind. The only down side was their tire prices, which are about the same amount as the dealer. I also appreciated the customer service and how genuine Dillon was.
