I have generally found the employees at Advanced Autoparts to be very helpful when I have had problems with my car or needed a part, a lightbulb, or assistance in knowing what's going wrong. They will often install whatever bulb I purchase for me if it's easily accessible. They can also look up parts for you, or guide you to helpful YouTube videos for repairs, etc. read more

I stopped by today because it was behind the gas station at Sam's Club. All you have to do is read the other one star reviews and realize that I've dealt with the asshole Scott the manager. a piece of garbage. If this man hates what he does, then he should've studied . He gave me a part number that on the shelf, but absolutely refused to even come out behind the counter to help. If this location had the only part in all of Kansas City for my car or truck I would rather go buy a new one then buy a part from this asshole. read more

Scott the manager is an absolute disgrace of a manager. Walked in wanting to get rid my old oil, had a big ol sigh and said "oh great more oil" directed a young lady to the back show me where to dispose of it. Came back to front returning transmission fluid. I was unable to return my items due to Scott's attitude about it. I've been a customer here for many years, but today's encounter prompted me to write this review. I've been having problems with my battery dying repeatedly, despite the fact that it still tests as good and is only six months old. The tow truck driver suggested I get an Optima deep cycle battery to solve the problem. When I contacted Advance Auto Parts, I spoke with Greg, who was friendly, helpful, and professional. After confirming that they did have the battery in stock and that it was compatible with my vehicle, he installed the battery in about five minutes. Went in today to replace a battery because one of their associates told my daughter that it had a bad cell after they tested it 2 weeks ago. Since I believed it was under warranty I asked the person behind the counter to look it up and it was. She proceeds to test it and it comes back OK. We tell them that we were told it had a bad cell and the manager Scott steps in and pretty much says that my daughter was lying about it and that battery cells don't fix themselves. Well at that point I had to step in and give Scott a piece of my mind. We are both "banned" from the store like that's the only parts store around. We drove down the street got everything else I needed and saved 10 bucks on the oil. Scott needs some customer service training. read more

Just Stay away if you order online and need to do a return. They only return to original payment and will not give store credit even when you tell them the card does not exist anymore you bought this on due to being hacked. Now I have 50.00 in limbo somewhere but needed new headlights that were only 6 months old. What a joke!!!!!!!! read more

My battery was totally dead (bad cell according to AAA service) Costco, O'Reilly & AAA didn't have the battery and they wouldn't install it in BMW 325i due to special tool needed for set up, thanks BMW. My last hope was Advance, they had the correct battery & Greg and his staff were able to get it installed and they had the tool or instrument thingy needed to reset all the electrical stuff. I was just in and out so maybe 5 stars is generous, but I didn't have any complaints. I was offered assistance immediately and escorted to the aisle to choose the product that fit my needs. I made my choice and he made a gentle suggestion for a high mileage version of the same product, which was truly more suitable for me. Wow. I went here because a friend told me they will run a free diagnostic test when my check engine light is on. They did, and they were extremely helpful! Just got excellent service from Advanced Auto Parts at I-35 and 95th St. Their website was super easy to use to find the battery I needed, they were open early at 7:30 so I could call and find out if they had it in stock, then I drove up there and they installed it for free on the spot for me. I was only 20 minutes late to work after a dead battery. That's a win. read more

How do you consistently mess up getting something as simple as an oil filter, when you have a computer in front of you with all the answers. Literally every time I ask for a simple part I end up having to take it back and go to their competitors for the correct one. Save yourself having to take your wrong parts back and just go somewhere else. read more
