I had been a regular customer of LMR tires and generally had a positive experience with them. However, recently my car broke down just outside of Pleasant gap. I called LMR Bellefonte and asked if they could help. They recommended that I tow the car to their Centre Hall location and helped me contact Half Moon Towing for help. After get a ride to work in Altoona, I contacted LMR Centre Hall by phone. They said the transmission had failed. I asked if that was something they could fix. They said I would have to contact the dealer. I did and it was going to cost more to fix the car than it was worth. I contacted LMR again by phone and asked if they had any suggestions and they were less than helpful. I asked if I could leave the car in their lot while I figured something out. It took about a week to get a new car, but after contacting several junk yards none, wanted the old car. I went to LMR a couple of week later to get stuff out of the car and get the key bob. One week after that I finally found out that if I could get it to the auction in Mill Hall, they would sell it. At that point I again called LMR to keep them informed. At that point they informed me that they had had the car impounded and that it would cost $400 to get it with additional charges each day. I was very upset at that point. They said they tried to call me but didn't get an answer. They had old cell number, that I no longer used. They had my address, but did not try to send me any notification by mail. I will never work with them again and I am investigating any legal action I might take. read more

Coming back from PSU, my car started making a horrible noise. I called AAA, and the nearest AAA-rated garage was closed (it was after 5pm on Friday) and wasn't open on Saturdays. While the clueless AAA receptionist asked me where I'd like to go for service (HELLO??? I'm over 250 miles from home, what do I know????) she said LMR Tires was only 4 miles away, they were open until 8pm, and would also be open on Saturday. We got there, and they looked at the car. Revved the engine, couldn't replicate the noise. Took it out for a test drive and for about 15 seconds, the noise came back. Brought it back to the shop, checked it out, couldn't find a source of the problem, maybe something shook loose for a few minutes, or the hood prop wasn't snapped back in properly (I'd recently had an oil change close to home). But they gave me the thumbs up to drive home. No charge for their time. 250 miles later, the noise never returned. But they found a new customer if I'm back in the area and need service. read more

I took my van there to have some tires work done. The mechanic broke the hub cap and not only didn't offer to pay for it or replace it, didn't even say he was sorry. Even after complaining to the owner, the only thing they did was give me a certificate for a free oil change. It cost me $40 for a new hub cap to match what was on the vehicle. read more

Took my car to the Bellefonte location for inspection; the car failed and needed new front brakes and rotors. I called and made another appt for Saturday 10/3/20. I was told the labor and parts would be about $225-250. I dropped my car off the night before (Friday night). Saturday came and no one called to tell me my car was ready. I called and they told me "unfortunately, we didn't get the parts and have to keep the car until Monday". I told them this was not acceptable because I only have one vehicle; additionally, I am a single, medical professional and I work at 8 am on Monday. Brandon said he didn't know what to do because my car was up on the racks, and he didn't know if they could put it back together to give to me. About an hour later he called back and told me it was taken care of; I picked up my vehicle, and they charged me $342... why? because they installed premium brakes and rotors without asking/notifying me. To add insult to injury, I got in my car (after paying) and there is a huge grease hand print near the visor on the driver side of my Jeep, where the mechanic clearly put his hand to get in/out of my vehicle. I took my car to the LMR Tires in Centre Hall not Bellefonte. I took it in for service because my car was shaking and my tires were rubbing terribly every time I made a sharp turn. I was charged $318. Guess what? They didn't fix a damn thing!!!! My car continued to vibrate and my tires were still rubbing every time I made a sharp turn. I sent an email to Chris Lykens (owner of LMR Tires) and expressed my dissatisfaction with the service at his Centre Hall location. He responded promptly to my email, apologized, and offered to rectify the problem by having my car reserviced at FREE OF CHARGE. I took my car to have my car serviced again based on Chris Lykens promise to service my car for FREE. Chris lied!!!!! I was charged $275.00. The incompetent idiots managed to fix the shaking of my car, but they still COULD NOT manage to fix the rubbing of the tires. Not only that, but a day after they serviced my car my car started screeching. Two days later, my oil light kept coming on informing me my oil was low. Impossible! I had a complete oil change two months before. It turns out my oil was low after all. The morons at LMR are just that MORONS. Now, I have scheduled for my car to be serviced with real mechanics. These mechanics will be able to correct all the damage those bumbling idiots inflicted on my car. As for Chris Lykens, he's an EVIL, LYING piece of scum who has an IQ of of a toilet. He's a thief, crook, and con artist. Take my advice and take your car ELSEWHERE!!!! I plan to file a complaint with the BBB against Chris Lykens. read more

If you come in for service you are better off leaving your vehicle and coming back later. I have been here a few times for inspection, tires & oil changes. I had an appointment after work for tires I was there for 3 hours before they touched my car. Inspection one morning and it was an hour after my appointment time before they pulled my car in the service bay. I had some work done one day, dropped off the car asked them to call me when it was finished. I finally reached them on the phone 7 hours later to see if my car was done and the girl I talked to said "I don't know the mechanic that worked on it is gone." I later found out my car was done 2 hours after I left. They do good work but need a much bigger garage and more staff. This place is always busy and the prices are reasonable. read more

Long story short, they broke my side marker lights and ended up filing a case against them through the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The owner and employees are dishonest and unprofessional. I would have to strongly disagree with the two previous reviews. I have had my vehicle as well as several of my family's vehicles worked on at Lmr, including exhaust, tire, inspections, and minor engine repairs. All of these have been completed correctly andin a timely manner. To address the complaint of the tires going bad, this is definitely not the business's fault. If you drive on your tires for a year and a half wIthout ever checking your tire pressure, you are asking for problems. (I assume that the tires wore unevenly.) In any case, this is no fault of the guy who installs the tires. Especially if routine tire rotations are not kept up with. I would recommend Lmr Tires to anyone with any sort of mechanical needs for good work at a fair price. read more

I've purchased tires at LMR on two occasions, and our daughter went there for brake work. LMR's price for tires is competitive with the.coms, and their service is outstanding. My daughter's brake job was done on a Saturday, on time, and at a reasonable price. I intend to go back to LMR for tires and service. I recommend LMR. read more

I got a flat on interstate 80 in my brand new van. I changed the flat and did a quick search on my phone for a tire place to get my tire fixed. The closest place was LMR tires in Bellafonte. I called ahead and told them my predicament. Chris and Robert were fantastic. The shop was clean, everyone was polite, and they fixed my tire and put it back on and replaced the spare and even aired up all my other tires to factory specs. Bought tires at the LMR in Lamar, PA and 3 of the 4 were shot after 1 1/2 years because the tires were over inflated.They had lots of excuses and were difficult and rude to work with. Absolute WORST place I have ever dealt with. Took my truck in for 4 new tires. After picking it up and attempting to drive it home, it almost shook apart. Tires were not balanced and the truck was hopping and shaking all over the road. I called them they told me to bring it back. An hour later they said they balanced them but couldn't take it for a test drive because they were too busy. Another attempt to drive home, still no better. After 2 weeks and 7 trips back and forth to this dump my truck still vibrated something fierce. Adding insult to injury they got grease ALL over my seat which I had to pay to get cleaned. I ended up taking it to the dealership where they got my tires balanced the first try. LMR can't even balance a set of tires?! Mechanics were rude and ignorant. Got new tires, the mechanic over tighten the lug nuts. Couldn't get two of the lug nuts off they striped out. Had to take vehicle back to them to use special tool to remove them. Two years later took vehicle back to get tire fixed. They over tighten the lug nuts again with the air gun. Couldn't get known of the lug nuts off this time. I wouldn't recommend this garage and I am not taking any of my business back to them. I get a flat tire along side of the road and I can't get lug nuts off to put a spare tire on. LMR tires is a local business that I'd love to give my money to for every service. Unfortunately, they are awful. I've had them forget about my vehicle, forgot to complete a service, and recently, I waited 40 minutes for them to begin service on my vehicle, despite scheduling an appointment time. I realize unexpected issues come up with earlier appointments, however, it seems more likely they overbook appointments. LMR is more concerned with making money than customer service. I have free tire rotation for the life of the tires, since I paid over $500.00, but I would rather take my vehicle to, literally, anywhere else. If you have all the time in the world, feel free to give LMR your business. read more
