Stomach growling as I was walking down Viale Pasitea (the main thoroughfare in town), multiple good options caught my eye. After some Gmaps searching (sorry Yelp, again limited and some outdated data in Europe!) their beautiful IG-able interior + stellar reviews cinched the decision for me. It's both a restaurant and retail store--the latter carries local ceramics, kitchenware and home decor, many with botanical designs--capturing that quintessential coastal vibe--colors back to white. The former takes up the remaining three-quarters of the white-washed space with about two dozen tables seating about 40-50 people. Live vines hang from parts of the ceiling, pendant lighting fixtures printed with leaf patterns echo the botanical theme from the retail displays. The aesthetic rounds out with tiled floors, light wood furniture, and pillowed banquette seating mixed with individual tables, tying in designs from the home goods store. Food is new Italian--they do carry some traditional dishes though they also have a modern Mediterranean section of the menu that adds non-traditional ingredients or techniques. They also serve a variety of cocktails, fresh-squeezed or blended juices and smoothies, and coffee drinks. Lunch with an entree and drink will run you about €35-40, which is on the higher side though par for the course compared to other similar restaurants along the Amalfi Coast. I ordered the traditional fagioli cannellini, scarola, capperi, olive e calamari gratinati €26 (cannellini beans, escarole, capers, olives and gratinated calamari). This was creamy and tasty even though it had no cheese or cream, the calamari was cooked well, just tender enough, and coated with light breadcrumbs, which I appreciated as it was baked and not deep-fried. Having minimal familiarity with dish, I can only say I thought it was outstanding, good textural contrast, not too salty. Staff was the right amount of attentive without being overbearing, and though their English was limited, they strove to answer my questions on ingredients in a few of the dishes. The restaurant was pretty busy during lunch, but I never felt rushed. Loved the atmosphere and food here, would certainly recommend!

I've been in Europe for 3 weeks now and had my first ever gluten free cone in Germany at the start of my trip. I've yet to come across any in the states. I must say, best gluten free cone I've had. The cone is my favorite part and I love sharing the experience with my gluten eating companions. In addition to the cone, it was probably some of the best vegan gelato I've ever had. Wider selection of vegan flavors then most spots offer. I had the hazelnut and pistachio, both were absolutely delicious. The employees were very kind and friendly. Check these guys out in Pompei if you get the chance. There's a gelato shop on every corner but I'm convinced this one trumps all.

The inside of the cafe has a nice, cozy feel. Artistic and homey, with a genuine family feel. I immediately felt relaxed, like I could have easily spent hours there drinking coffee and reading a book. We were told that this shop was the original that created the famous limoncello that Capri is known for today, and the flavors of their limoncello were unreal! Fresh juices, perfectly balanced with sugar and finely crushed ice made for a true refreshing drink. We also tried some of their sorbets, and selected the Lemon and Watermelon from their vast selection. Again, the quality here is unmatched by anywhere else we've tried in our lives. We were pleasantly surprised by this unassuming roadside stand off the beaten path. The workers here are hard-working and friendly. They spoke some English, which made it easier for us to order. If we ever visit Capri again, we'll for sure come back here!

It was not on the menu but I saw someone else get some scrambled eggs with sausages and when I asked for it they said they didn't have any more sausages but could make me some eggs. So I asked for an omelette and they actually delivered exceptionally well! Quite a large fluffy omelette and they put ham inside! Absolutely beautiful meal. We cringed at the thought that we were met by a "barker" as we walked by with promises of "fresh juices" and delicious pizza, but being thirsty and hungry, we willed ourselves to enter this establishment right in front of the Villa Dei Misteri entrance of the Pompeii ruins. Our server was par for Italian customer service (no smile and no small talk) but that's a given with most of Italy. The juices were indeed refreshing but I think the OJ had add-on sugar on it because it was just too sweet. We were surprised by the quality of the pizza (our first in Napoles, the birthplace of pizza) and the freshness of the seafood in our pasta. No additional parmesan or red pepper flakes needed. For some reason, our server got us bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Maybe because we spoke English, hence she thought "American". Well surprise, surprise. I actually enjoyed the Quattro Formaggi (four cheese) pizza with the dipping sauce made common allover the US of A. FYI, bread service isn't free in Italy. A great experience. It fueled and refreshed us weary travelers to go through the rest of the afternoon and night in this quiet Italian town.
