Excellent experience in Amalfi! This coffee shop is a true gem! The service was prompt! The cappuccino which is already great almost everywhere in Italy was particularly great here! The cornetos, pastry and everything else we tried was extraordinary! specially the Sfogilatela... a must stop in Amalfi I should say... it is perfectly located in the square in front of the church, just beautiful! Perfect to watch people walk around and do a little shopping after the meal!
Cioccolato Andrea Pansa is located in the main square in Amalfi. This small cafe makes their own chocolates as well as gelato. I settled on a large cup of gelato here. Large (5 euros and came with 3 flavors) - I went with pistachio, limone, and coffee. All of the flavors here were rich and creamy and tasted amazing. The pistachio was good, though I wish it had some real pistachio whole nuts in there like some of the other gelato spots. The limone was probably my favorite out of all the flavors and was very refreshing and had a great lemony flavor. Overall, the gelato is very good here and reasonably priced. Ordering is done from the side. If you would like to sit at one of their tables in front of the cafe there is a separate menu for that and an additional charge.
I knew gelato was Italy's gift to the world and usually Florence (the birthplace) and Sicily are the queens for these amazing dessert. Little did I realize this tiny little coastal town that is mostly geared towards tourists trap would have the real deal of delicious gelato! When you first enter the town area from the port and intercity bus stops, ignore alllll the fake gelato places and you can spot them easily with their neon colours and towering piles exposed to the air. Andrea Pansa has their gelato done right... sealed up in metal containers and only using milk and real ingredients. The owner or store manager was so pleasant and let us taste their many flavours. All incredible ... hazelnut, pistachio, lemon, espresso, chocolate, vanilla with chocolate shavings, and many more. It is so hard to chose but their lemon, espresso, pistachio, and my personal favourite Della Nonna Adrianna (chocolate pearls with crunchy cereal in a ricotta gelato). The lemon is another winner as it uses the Amalfi lemon which is bright and sweet that cuts through the creaminess. I was so shocked on vibrant everything tasted and pure to the ingredients. If I could order cups of everything I would... and probably would if given a chance to go back!

A little bit on the pricey side but such a cute little boutique cafe in the plaza with a great view of the church and city. We ordered gelato here (came with three scoops). The almond and hazelnut flavors were absolutely divine and gelato was nice and creamy! We also ordered an americano which went well with the sweet ice cream. It was so nice to just sit and relax here. read more
Ambiance: in Amalfi Square; 50 ft from the church. Busy but nice. Service: awesome, quick. Food: flavors are amazing!! So clean, not sugary but lightly sweet. Especially cafee espresso gelato was amazing with vanilla chocolate chip. Chocolate chips werent sweet but chocolatey!!! Definitely come here if you can, skip the other gelato places in the square. They don't serve that huge fresh lemon sorbet thing that every other shop sells. read more

We stopped in to Andrea Pansa twice while in Amalfi, once for breakfast and once for an afternoon snack. Service was kind and they recommended delicious pastries both times. In the afternoon, I got a lemon spritz and it was well made. Definitely recommend for a stop when in Amalfi! read more

A must try in Amalfi. The best affogato and espresso/coffee we had while we were there. Came back a couple days later for the gelato which was also delicious! read more

We have had gelato all over Italy during the past two weeks and I have to say that the limon Creme gelato was the best yet! It had a light, fresh and delicious flavor! Since lemons are special to this region, I strongly urge you to try it! The large cup was HUGE read more
