Started with the di mare appetizer with octopus, calamari, and shrimp. It was incredibly fresh and delicious. Then split the ravioli caprese and spicy salami pizza... both insanely good. Finished the meal with the torta caprese which is a flourless chocolate cake. This place is a 11/10 and secluded just off the main part of town with no tourists. Great dining experience at Lo Guarracino in Positano. The restaurant is slightly outside the main part of town along a footpath, making it somewhat secluded from the hordes of tourists in high season (and a nice, scenic walk). The view of Spiaggia Fornillo (the smaller beach in Positano) and sound of waves crashing made for a relaxed atmosphere. The menu is focused on local seafood and did not disappoint. We had the mussels with lemon & pepper, pasta with shrimp & lemon sauce, and sea bass with salad - all cooked perfectly and paired with a local white wine. Service was friendly. read more

We had one of the best meals here during our stay in Positano! The seaside view is incredible and absolutely beautiful. We didn't have a reservation but we also came for lunch on a Thursday. The owner was really nice, too. I loved my pizza, which was a namesake of the restaurant. It had cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh oregano, and basil. The fresh oregano really made this pizza delicious! The bake on it also was fantastic and nice and crispy on the bottom. My husband ordered the spicy salami pizza and he really loved it too and finished it all! read more

This restaurant was a gem. It is located just a short walk from the Positano coastline , but enough distance away from the Amalfi crowds to offer the perfect amount of peace/quiet mixed in with the spectacular views Positano is known for. Food was delicious. The grilled fish was flaky and tasty. Even the fried fish had so much flavor and was light (you could barely tell it was fried). Staff was great and welcoming. If you want a good view, be sure to make a reservation! We got a half bottle of wine, the focaccia, and we asked the server what else he recommended. I dined here during the last night of my trip to the Amalfi coast. The location might be my favorite out of all the restaurants I visiting during my vacation. Located at the edge of Positano outside of the bustling town center, you walk a little path up a hill and eventually reach this quaint spot. I requested outdoor seating and was given the perfect table overlooking the ocean. The service was perfect, as with all other places I dined while in Italy. I ordered a glass of white wine and focaccia. For the main course I got a lemon risotto with shrimp. It was delicious. I was able to eat at a slow pace and simply enjoy the views. I was traveling solo but I felt this would be a wonderful romantic dining experience to have with someone. Lo Guarracino was the perfectly upscale casual spot for our first night in Positano. We loved the half bottles of wine option and had Pinot Grigio and then a Chianti with our entrees. We had split the eggplant parm (very delicious and cheesy in its little baking crock), and pizza. Our table outside facing the ocean was so pretty, and our servers were extremely great and friendly! La Guarracino is a beautiful and romantic restaurant secluded at the end of the main beach. You have to walk a pathway to the top of the hill to reach it. I went at night and could not see the view, but based on the location I can only imagine it to be fabulous. The pizza was delicious, same with the white wine and Tiramissu that we ordered. Service was okay but they got a few things wrong. We ordered many different appetizers and entrees, all of them where excellent. I have not dined at every restaurant in Positano but I have been to many over the last few years. This one is my favorite for the food quality and ambience. This is a beautiful location. The only downside was the male chef that threw an absolute hissy fit. Slamming and breaking dishes. One of our party decided to leave and my wife her sister and myself decided to stay. The food was good the beer was cold. The management was apologetic, and the busboy was an absolute doll. Stop reading and come to this restaurant! My wife and I HAD to come here both days we stayed in Positano because the first time was too damn good. The view is amazing, the service is adequate but the food, especially the pizza, is outstanding. Both days we had the same thing. First we had the marinated anchovies with zucchini, a local staple.(about 9€). I had never had this dish before but was pleasantly surprised how sweet and not-fishy they were. Then the pizza with ham, mushrooms and artichoke hearts (about 13€). This is plenty food for two people and is so deliciously flavorful. Seriously, go to this place and enjoy. read more

This restaurant is a bit secluded. We enjoyed the peaceful, quiet ocean views. The beach it overlooks is more private and off the beaten path. The walk to get to the restaurant is basically straight uphill. I had the lobster pasta dinner and it was delicious. It's half a lobster served in a delicious sauce with large pasta. The pasta is served al dente, so pretty firm. The house white wine was lovely. read more

Food was good. Views were great. Waiter was super nice. But the chef had a meltdown in the kitchen and starting throwing pots, pans, and dishes. The dishes broken and came flying at patron seated nearby the pickup station. He should've been fired on the spot but was allowed to continue. I would not want an angry chef cooking my food (luckily we were already eating dessert at this time). The food here was incredible! We had a larger party of 8 and they were very accommodating of us. The service was great and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the zucchini pasta. Our server, Luigi (The tall one), was outstanding. Our dad got sick during our stay and we were urgently trying to find a pharmacy or a local store we can buy over the counter medications at. Alright pizza (I had one with lemon) but they asked us to tip them pointedly knowing we were Americans.

This was our most favorite Italian restaurant this trip. And yet it's not for everyone. 1) The night breeze off the Med can be chilly, so bring a coat, sweater, or scarf, if that could be a problem. 2) The pasta is Roman style (meaning very al dente). If you don't know what that means, you should Google it or risk being disappointed. 3) The portions are not like Cheesecake Factory, meaning you can order more than just one thing each and not feel stuffed. If that's a problem, there are farms that rent troughs. We shared a pasta, a seabreem (fish), a pizza (oregano, garlic, cherry tomatos, chili oil--unbelievable), a dessert (lemon cake, yum!), and coffee, and we were feeling great and still mobile. In short, don't come here and expect American Italian. Instead, be open to a true southern Italian dining experience that'll blow your mind. read more

My kayaking tour guide (a Positano native) recommended I try this place, and I'm glad he did. It's a little more hidden away so it's not a tourist trap like the places right on the beach. The prices are totally reasonable for the area. I ordered the spaghetti alle vongole for lunch, and it was great. The view of the water is really nice, and the server was very friendly. I was on a solo backpacking trip with a short day stop in Positano, and felt awkward eating alone (obviously, it's a lot of couples!). Objective: Located on the small pedestrian path connecting the main beach (Marina Grande) and smaller Fornillo beach. Most tables had sea views. English-friendly. Assessment: This dinner was one of the highlights of our Positano stay! The location away from the main beach area makes the atmosphere more calming and the views of the sea were beautiful. The food was excellent, particularly the seafood stew and the white chocolate/lemon flourless cake (this cake was one of our favorite dishes of the entire trip!). Service was friendly. Great pizza close to Fornillo beach! The view is beautiful and the staff is friendly. The perfect stop for a beach day (especially if the beach bars aren't open). I went here with my friend and we both got pizzas. I got the classic Pizza Verdure (vegetable pizza) and she got the Pizza San Pietro (with local bacon and onion - caution: no sauce). Mine was quite good, and had vegetables you wouldn't typically see on a pizza. Such as pumpkin. My friend's pizza was amazing! Though on the salty side. But loads of flavor.
