This rustic chic café recently opened in Victoria Park village in Hackney, is my new favourite for hot chocolate & marshmallows on cold, wintery days. Warm and inviting, the café is fairly minimalist, with wood flooring & furniture and the big windows bring in lots of light from outside. The owner is an interior designer and apparently has experience in collecting and selling antique furniture which is apparent in this cosy café. Not exactly cheap, a slice of carrot cake came at a fairly pricey £2.50, and the small hot chocolate brought it up to a fiver, but I guess that's standard for London.

My mom and I had the full afternoon tea and we ordered two cream teas for my kids. Everyone absolutely loved it. The finger sandwiches were tuna, cucumber, egg, smoked salmon and a warm ham and cheese. The scones were delightful. We don't love raisins in our scones and they were able to accommodate us. The service was amazing. Everyone was so kind. I'd absolutely come here again!

Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Served quite warm as well. Pretty alright tea finger sandwiches overall; the cucumber sandwich had a nice lemon zing to it though the smoked salmon sandwich and egg sandwich had bread that was a bit on the stale side. Regarding desserts, the raspberry macaron was very tasty and had a great slight chew to it but the red velvet cake was pretty dry. There were more food items at the tea service but I'm just highlighting the most noteworthy ones. :p For tea I had the jasmine lychee. Satisfyingly bold lychee taste! Recommend if you want something bright-fruity with slight tartness. Service was very polite and all-smiles but could've been more attentive. I'd say I would return here mainly for the tea and the scones!

My husband and I had the privilege of booking afternoon tea during our recent visit to London. The total cost was approximately $175 USD and served one pot of tea with the flavor of your choice along with delicate sized sandwiches and several desserts on a tiered platter. Alejandro, our server, was not only hospitable but knowledgeable with the tea offerings. Service was also efficient and the presentation was refined. That, along with the stunning view, made our experience memorable. The only part that STAINED my delight was being seated next to 3 overly pretentious young women who, while dressed well & presented the proper image, did not possess the etiquette they "TRIED" to present. It was more obnoxious than sophisticated. To give you a better visual - think 'ladies who lunch' but with the tone that matched women who discussed men like they were at a bar rather than an upscale tea room. I found their conversation inappropriate, immature and rude. They spoke loudly enough for perhaps a third of the room to hear. Other than that, I would recommend The Library for all that it offers - just cross your fingers you aren't seated too closely to a trio of young 20-somethings who think they have the male population all figured out like they've watched and taken notes of every episode of 'Sex and the City'.

5 stars for the view, 4 stars for the tea. The location is perfect with stunning views of Big Ben…read moreover the Thames. The tea itself was pretty good with a big assortment of sandwiches and desserts (and a cake shaped like Big Ben!) the tea selection comes in little glass jars you can smell, and both the County Hall mix and earl grey tasted yummy. The service was pretty quick and friendly.

Upon entering Fortnum, you are WOWed by the spectacular view of beautiful chocolates, teas, and antiques with 4 floors of stairs to more shopping from home and goods to tea pots to perfume and finally their tea room to dine in. Our server was able to help us get seated immediately and answer all of our questions, constantly checking in on us, giving us new plates, refilling, and organizing our table to look more aesthetic :). HIGH TEA / AFTERNOON TEA SET We chose the high tea and afternoon set which was ayce basically with unlimited refills of the pastries. This was around £95 per person which was a bit pricey, but the experience felt very high end indeed. The pastries were varying in regards to quality consistency and also depends on your preferences. Each pastry or bite has a savory or sweet taste and is paired uniquely. Each set also came with your choice of a tea pot and sparkling tea which was delicious. The honey tea non caffeinated was decent! HIGH TEA The sweet pastries were my favorite from a crunchy but creamy blueberry tart to a decadent chocolate mousse. I wasn't a fan of the rose cake, but the yogurty apple one and sweet bread were decent to my liking (definitely depends on your preferences). I did really enjoy trying new things though and being able to get more of whatever I liked! I also really like the side of marmalades and buttery cream with the scones. Both the regular and fruity scone were delicious. The sweet set also came with an entree and the beef Wellington was coooked to perfection although a very small bite. SAVORY TEA I was not a fan of duck liver mousse at all, but really liked the crab cake and savory scones that came with a type of cream cheese spread and red onion marmalade. A different take from the sweet set. Their scones are perfectly crispy on the outside but nice and moist on the inside. This set also came with finger sandwiches which were delicious: a variety of salmon and cream cheese, cucumber, hummus, and ham and cheese. It is a great experience for first timers when you are in London and definitely a good place to pick up teas and goodies to bring back home.

After several Google services, I came across Dotty's website, it is well put together and really grabbed my attention Seeing Dotty's in real life was like a dream. The establishment is beautifully decorated and you can tell the owner really invested in the place and the people who work there. There is a pink bicycle parked outside, the establishment is pink, the decor is very elegant--perfect for a photo op I opt to do the afternoon tea with Prosecco added on as well as some scones to go. It was a very fair price per person. Under £80 for the entire experience for 2 people. They also sell other assorted desserts, shakes and cakes All the employees were attentive, they explained in detail what our package came with and they made sure we were happy from start to finish. EVERYTHING was delicious! From the English tea down to the Pimms jello HIGHLY RECOMMEND 10/10!!

I stumbled on the listing while doing a search for tea places before I left Washington, DC to travel to London. Unfortunately I didn't make the reservation myself (relied on family in London to make it) so we didn't get booked for the afternoon tea service as I'd hoped and just had a reserved table instead. Still, I indulged in some scones with cream and strawberry jam, paired with a strong cup of decaf English breakfast tea. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain the drink and pastry options to us. I hope I get a chance to visit again for the full tea service before the end of my trip!
