Let me start by saying I really had my hopes up that this would be something great. I haven't been this disappointed in a long time, but should have taken to hear the last review that warned me. The last review in last 8 months was bad and makes me wonder if there's new owners that don't care about quality. We stopped in here to try their dogs after coming through Cleburne for the day. From the outside it doesn't look like much and is really hard to find. Once inside, it looked really cool and different. We stood up front for 5 minutes not realizing we had to walk to the back of the restaurant to order. Something seemed off almost immediately when the cashier showed us individual sandwich baggies containing specific portions of frozen fries. That's clue #1. We ordered then sat down. They brought out our drinks and one of the cups was leaking from big chunks of square ice that cut the styrofoam. We had to walk behind when front counter to get another cup because nobody comes out from the back. Then they brought out lunch. You never can redo a first impression. Right away we knew this wasn't going the way we hoped for when the footling dog was laying across TWO(2) 6" hot dogs buns. WOW! Even Sonic can get a true foot long bun to match their foot long dog. Well....it tasted like a Wal-Mart hot dog. Even the chili tasted burnt and very plain. Guarantee it's canned chili and not even good chili. The bun(s) were the cheapest horrible buns I've ever had. Honestly I've had better leftovers two days old. The other Sauerkraut style dog was pitiful. The bun was so soggy it fell apart and ZERO taste in that sauerkraut. The only thing good was a decent braut. The French fries were dollar store frozen quality. Once again the chili was horrible. If I could give this place NO Stars I would. I can hear up chili and hot dogs at home in the microwave and they would have been better. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but this was by far my least favorite meal in a real long time, so here goes. Stopped by as I saw that they have vegetarian options. I was really excited to try the vegetarian chili and hot dogs they have. We enter, after busy lunch hours and the place is empty except for one table who have already received their food. We walk up to the counter and order vegetarian hot dogs and veggie chili. 20-25 minutes later I see that the family who came in after us received their food and I walk up to the counter to check. That's when I see them open a brand new can of 'Loma Luna' vegetarian chili. Seriously, who needs 25 minutes to open a can and reheat the contents? Had I not seen them opening the can of chili, I would have just thought it's a sad bowl of chili but now I know it's a bad bowl of 'canned' chili. Am now confused if am reviewing the restaurant or Loma Luna. Hot dogs weren't good either. Ikea sells better veggie hot dogs for less than a dollar. read more

Had the absolutely awesome loaded baked potato called a Mama Spud. It comes totally loaded with all the usual fixings plus turkey. You can also asked for ranch dressing on the side to bump it up another notch. Don't let the name fool you. There is a wide variety of menu choice besides hot dogs. read more

Local is almost always good. This one was really good. I went more out of curiosity, wondering if it was just another coney place. I assure it wasn't. The place is neat, country eclectic with a lot of hot dog and city related items, that was the deco. Small sitting area, not meant for huge groups. The dogs weren't part of a q quick serve recipe. They obviously had to prep parts of the fare. I had the Aimee dog and the Texas dog. Both were amazing. Aimee dog was bratwurst, looked steamed or boiled. Was gray and moist, not dry and charred from a grill or a pan. Skin still snapped when bite. Sauerkraut, bacon, grilled onions, and spicy mustard on top. Great taste!! Texas dog was a spicy dog, shredded cheese, grilled onions and jalapeños, topped with bbq sauce. This was a really good combo. My first thought was the bbq sauce may throw it off, but it's a light amount and doesn't distract, adds to the overall flavoring. Really good. Haven't had anything else yet, they all look good. I just tried Loaf' n Dog again after being super disappointed with my onion rings being overcooked the last time! Today I was served my Nealie dog (completely cold!) and 5 pitiful and COLD onion rings! When I asked the waitress what happened to the full order of onion rings she said; "sorry we are running low today and that's all we could give you", then after I actually tasted them and realized they were COLD she swung back by and asked me how my order was and I told her, "unsatisfactory, my food is completely cold"... she said, sorry and tried to offer me a piece of cake but I told her No Thanks and that I had given them a second chance already and they disappointed me AGAIN! First, let me just explain that it is hard to find a polish dog anywhere, so I was already biased when I saw it on the menu. These are REALLY good dogs. The sauerkraut is excellent, as well. They were happy to point me in the right direction upon entrance. Omg these dogs!! Weather was getting ugly so we ordered delivery. The girl taking our order was so sweet. When the order arrived (quickly) it was hot, fresh and exactly what we ordered. If I could put less than 1 star, I would. First of all, upon walking in the front door it is confusing as to where one would order food! Then, the high chair straps LITERALLY crumbled upon touching it. We had to go get our stroller so our son could eat. The hot dogs were not right, slightly green and dark aprons the outside and the middle was a lighter shade of the same... our son's hotdog was fine but his was cut up and thrown on some craft Macaroni and cheese... so of course they'd use a normal colored dog for that... ours were covered in chili and what not. This is such a great restaurant. It's family friendly, wallet friendly, community friendly... Are you sensing the theme here? Loaf'n Dog holds events almost daily that involve the community and local artists. Their open mic nights in particular are always fun and well attended. On to the food. They specialize in one thing: really great hot dogs. Their menu ranges from traditional Chicago style dogs to a very solid Polish with kraut. I have not tried anything there that I didn't like. The staff is very friendly and the service is solid. They also have a fun delivery service with a smart car wrapped in their store logo. It's a great place in a small town. This is a fun little spot downtown. The hotdog itself was quite good, the Vienna frank in my "Casey Dog" was flavored great and cook perfectly. The bun was fresh and tasted steamed. They had no problem customizing my order to have it exactly like I wanted it. For the $4.50 that my order was, I felt satisfied with the price. I forget the name of the dog I ordered it was pretty decent, it had Chili, cheese and onions on it. My son had the kids Mac and cheese it seemed to just be Kraft Mac and cheese with hot dogs cut up in it, he ate it so it wasn't terrible. I wish they had fountain drinks instead of cans.
