    Absolutely beautiful!
    Mary B.

Absolutely love portillos! They have a great selection burgers , chicken sandos, fish sandwiches, not just hotdogs! But they are sooo good ! My fav is the Maxwell sausage, it's absolutely delicious and the grilled onions yum! Definitely hits the spot! If you haven't , try the chocolate cake shake! Or the cake alone! Yum! They also have seasonal cakes ! Right now they have pumpkin spice slices! Honestly the cakes have not disappointed, they are moist , delicious and everything you thought the Matilda chocolate cake would taste like... and it does! Lol this cake reminds me of that movie! This location is beautiful and big, now unlike the portillos in Chicago , they don't offer pasta here or beer! I know?! Lame but hopefully soon! Yay!

This is another one I noticed but never visited; thankfully for this event, I finally stopped by. I had heard many things about Portillo's, I was anxious to finally try it. The inside was very clean, and I loved the way they decorated their establishment. They have a large menu, so it took a moment to pick what I wanted. I missed seeing they have a fish sandwich, but I was still happy with what I ended up with. That'll be on my list for the next visit. The young lady at the counter was very sweet but needed a bit of help with ringing up the order, but it was a quick fix. With my order, I was given a nice take-home cup. Thank you! Spicy Chicken Sandwich: It was very good and plentiful. Next time, I will add pickles and remove the lettuce. When I removed the lettuce, it was wilted and brown in several places. You could taste the lack of freshness, which led me to remove it. If you love spicy, this is the sandwich for you! Onion Rings: Now, I'm not an onion rings person, but I wanted to try something outside of fries. Oooh-wee, these were so good! They were fresh and weren't drowned in grease; heck, they didn't even make it home; the container was almost empty. Keep in mind, they are a bit expensive, but worth a visit. It is worth adding to the list! Note: Traffic can be a bit tricky, so be patient and go to the light and U-Turn, or enter from Pleasant Ridge.

Italian Beef Sandwich, extra gravy, and hot peppers.

This was my second time trying Portillo's. My friend, who grew up in Chicago, swears by it. Since I wasn't impressed the first time I tried their sandwich at the Mansfield location, I asked him for a recommendation to see what all the hype was about. He suggested the Italian beef sandwich, extra gravy, with hot peppers. I was still not impressed. That being said, the cashier was sweet and quick, and this location was much faster than the one in Mansfield. The concept is the same, restaurant is spacious and clean, but I still don't get the hype.

Chili Cheese Dog with Onion Rings

Love the turning doors to go in! It's a walk up order or use the digital screen to place order. I ordered the chili dog without onion and side of onion rings. Also ordered a cheese burger with a side drink. The burger was delicious way better than Whataburger! Onion rings were kinda over crispy and you can taste the oil. Next time I'll stick to the fries. Chili dog was good, kinda small but overall good food. They do serve beer! Which makes it a place to hangout for a bit. Nice setting area plus they have a patio area

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. It was a bit busy but svc was quick. Ordered some a chili dog and fries with cheese sauce. The chili dog was great. Hot dog is grilled. The cheese sauce is a must. Will definitely be back

I went here as part of the Yelp Elite event. This is a large open restaurant. Lots of lighting and decor. I walked up to the counter and placed my order. The worker at the front was patient and kind while I decided on my meal. I opted for a chili cheese dog and fries. The hot dog had a great snap, the cheese on it was salty. The fries I loved. An okay experience overall.

Amazing hotdog. These are just as good as the ones in Chicago. It takes me back to Chicago. I also really appreciate that they are open late, and the place was friendly and clean. There was good decor around. Make sure to get the Chicago style hot dog

I've had the original Portillos in Chicago and had to see how this compared. At entry you order your own or there's also an option with a cashier. Although I chose the self order, ordering with someone would be my choice next time. Lots of menu options and overall a large place. Loved the decor and how clean the restaurant was. Burger and Italian beef were delicious. The Italian beef was just like I remembered in Chicago, I did add cheese. Great experience, wonderful food, will def return.

    Dipped Italian Beef Sandwich
    Marva R.

Yeah! No! If you have never had a dipped Italian Beef this may seem good but for me being that state of Illinois is my original home I am going to say nice try. It doesn't hit the same. I will say if you want an Italian Beef and you want it dipped, get it double dipped because my bread was still dry to me. Now that I am done complaining about my dipped. The beef itself! Well it didn't taste the same. Where is the seasoning? Like come on!!! My son order an Italian Beef as well with fries and a cup of cheese. A cup of cheese! They had the nerve to put the cheese on the Italian Beef. He ate it but he wasn't happy. It was a to go order so he didn't want to bring it back. Let me just say this. There is no place like home. Villa Park, would be disappointed in this location. I have had Portillo's in Chicago, Peoria, Illinois, Normal, Illinois, Woodbury, MN and Scottsdale,AZ; this location does not compare to any of those. I don't know what is missing but this isn't it.

Good food. My kid had a cheeseburger and I had the Italian beef on croissant. Not mind blowing food, but solid. I love their fries! The lady that took our order was helpful and nice. Laarge, clean dining area. Will be back, for sure.

Such a cute and fun environment to enjoy a nice hotdog at. The fries are perfectly crisp which I love. They have AMAZING chocolate cake and shakes I love. I feel like it's a high quality dog for a great price and service creates a very fun environment to bring families to even. Would go back and recommend!!!

Came in during lunch time and it was pretty empty! Which made it a nice experience because everything was clean and service was super fast! I got the big beef sandwich with onion rings. The onion rings were extremely delicious and crispy. The big beef was a lot of meat, I don't think I would get it again but it was an experience to be had. I've read that getting their beef sandwich's makes the bread soggy, but since I ate my order in restaurant my bread was actually still nice and toasty! I love that their dinning room is huge and there are outlets at some of their tables which made remote working really nice! I can't wait to come back and sit out on their gigantic patio! Please make sure to swing by and give them a try! If you get a beef sandwich stay and enjoy their amazing restaurant atmosphere instead of getting it to go. It makes all the difference!

I went for my Yelp invite Ty to our awesome event leader . Food was great. Hot and fresh . Service was excellent staff very friendly and helpful. Ambiance reminds me of what it would been like to enjoy this place in 50s . Like a 50s vibe . Lots of decor very large area. Clean and refreshing. Seen sign that says they offer their locations for fundraising and you get 20% of monies back which is good to know. I was there saw disabled people w/c bound so it has handicap accessible. Ty to staff for such great service.

A small salad with chicken used to last me 3 days for dinner, now I'm lucky if it lasts 2. There is one guy that works here, if he is serving I go elsewhere. Salata should be on your list…read more With 50+ ingredients, 10+ dressings, and 4-5 protein choices, you can build your salad exactly the way you want it--or let the pros do the thinking and start with a classic like a Cobb. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and you can pile that bowl pretty high. Bowls and wraps are both available, so there's really no excuse to say salad is boring. There is, however, one small problem: your healthy lunch can get dangerously close to a $20 bill. This isn't exactly the dollar-menu version of salad. But the portions are substantial enough that I consider it a full meal rather than rabbit food with a side of disappointment. Bottom line: If you can stomach the price, put Salata in heavy rotation. It's fresh, customizable, filling, and genuinely delicious. Your wallet may complain. Your waistline probably won't.

I had no time to look at the other choices. When I turned around, there wasn't anyone else waiting in line. I was a bit frustrated to say the least. I know I could have taken more time, but it's hard to concentrate when you're being glared at and rushed. I'm not sure if I would recommend or not. My friend's experience was better than mine, so, I guess it depends on who's behind the counter when you order. The basic chicken salad is just that, basic, but the chicken and wild rice soup was really good. I am not going to put the girl on blast who waited on me impatiently, I'm just hoping she was not her usual friendly self because of unknown circumstances to me. I will give her that.
