This a food truck that does an amazing job of bringing Chicago to Dallas. The Italian beef sandwiches and beef hot dogs are so darn good! They have other options but my hungry belly knows what it wants and I order accordingly. You can usually find TJ at the parking lot for Lowes in Richardson but he gets around. I had the Italian Sausage sandwich which was both delicious and reasonably priced. My friend had the nachos which were tasty, abundant and also reasonably priced. Service was helpful and customer friendly. And the menu had something for just about everyone. Ambience? Well, it's a food truck and a colorful one at that. Make sure to check the trucks location before making the trip! I went to TJ's Dawg House last month as I was craving a chili cheese dog, and it did not disappoint. The owner himself is such a nice guy he made sure to set me up with the best way to order. The prices are great especially considering he makes everything himself. Great owner ! Super friendly. Outstanding service ! I had the Chicago dawg. There were a couple things that were off about the Chicago dawg. 1. No Poppy seed bun, 2. The dawgs were grilled 3, he uses the 1/4 size dawg not the traditional sized. The bread held a lot of moisture so it fell apart while eating it. Because the dawg was grilled the skin didn't have the snap that one looks for when eating a Chicago style. You should be able to take a bite and get all the ingredients in your mouth at once...the bun simply didn't allow that. I also tried the West Virginia dog. It's topped with slaw and Chili. I have to say, this little stand has the BEST Cole slaw I've ever had in my life. It was full of flavor and extra creamy. I will be returning for my Vienna fix, and to probably buy a tub of the slaw. read more
