LoanDepot has terrible customer service. They refuse to waive late fees when I did not receive notice of a payment increase. I made the regular payment on time and they still will not waive the late fee. This new policy places profit over people. read more

We made the decision to re-fi our low interest mortgage so on a whim we contacted Loan Depot. Glad we did! Within hours we were on our way to a new 15-year loan at an even lower interest rate. With the help of the team at Loan Depot we capitalized on the low rates advertised today...and the process was super easy. My guy is a real estate broker so he knows this stuff like the back of his hand, normally he handles these things, but this time he wanted me to manage it from start to finish...for experience. Ha! With the Loan Depot experts I didn't even have to think - almost everything was handled online in the Loan Depot portal. The closing doc process was easy too; a notary showed up one morning, we signed and within a few days our loan was funded. From the time of the inquiry, rounding up our proof of income, the home inspection, approval, funding and closing I'd say the process took only a couple weeks. Sweet! They have the worst loan servicing we have ever experienced. No one can help with escrow issues even when you call or email them. I have tried removing my impounds since we decided to switch HOI companies and Paid our insurance in full. the request was made since Mar and today it's August and still no one has helped us! I submitted my documents on 5/7/20 to refinance my house. Two weeks latter I received a letter that my loan was denied. I called and e-mailed the loan agent to inquire why my loan was denied. No return called was received. I submitted my documents to a different company yesterday Sunday 5/31/20. My loan was approved today June 1, 2020 and locked at 3.875 percent, 30 year fixed in the amount of $510,400. My monthly mortgage payment was reduced by $778.00 My wife and I have Fico scores of over 800, enough income to qualify and a significant amount of equity in our home.. LoanDepot is not organized to help the client. Appears the company is interested in volume to the detriment of the client. My recommendation is not to start business with LoanDepot. read more

I sent my mortgage payment to these guys on the 7th of January 2019. I realized that had sold my loan to someone else. So I immediately asked them to send the money back to me. They said I needed a transmittal report proving I paid them. They received it on the 10th. They still refused to give me my money back. I told them I didn't want a 30 day late and called them 5 times. They now today said they would only mail it back to me on the 31st. I told them that would guarantee I would receive a 30 day late on my credit. They refused to alter their decision and to this day will not return my money. These people don't care who they affect. I would highly recommend NOT using these people. For any home loans or any loans for that matter. Terrible customer services. Refused to get a supervisor until multiple requests for one were made. No change in the outcome read more

I was in search to refinance my home with a cash out option, so I was shopping around. After getting several quotes and doing some research myself and sister (co-owner of home), decided to go through LoanDepot. We was dealing with a loan representative by the name of Rena Bonilla NMLS #2068258, who initially quoted us a larger cash out amount than our competitors. However once we called her back the cash out was cut in over half (which would have made more sense because this quote was closer to the other quotes we got previously). Not a problem we decided to still proceed, for maybe we had misunderstood her initial quote. Rena also stated that because my sister had the better credit score it would be better to apply for the loan under her name solely, yet still keep me on the title. We explained to Rena as long as I am able to make decisions that that's fine. She pressured me to pay the out of pocket of $21 to lock in our rates. I explained to her that I had some bills that was outstanding and that the $21 IS ALL that I wanted to put on my card. She was really pressed to get me to lock it in. She called me about 5-8 times in one day. MIND YOU, she had me sign all the loan documents on my sister behalf because she said it was urgent and I explained to her that Nina was at work at the time. Something about the market changing daily and the rates would not be the same if we waited. I provided her MY credit card number for the $21 and ONLY THAT. She processed the payment and I didn't hear from her. I logged on to the online portal, submitted all of Nina requested documents, I still didn't hear from her. I emailed her and asked what's next? What I believe to A legitimate question, being that she called me off the Hooks to get us locked in, but I didn't hear from her days after that. She replied back via email and said that it's in processing. I also spoke with her later that day she said she was extremely busy. Later that evening I received a notification from my bank stating that $500 was taken out of my bank account for the appraisal. I was really confused because days before I told Rena NOT to use that card to collect any additional payments. I emailed her. She called me the next morning VERY defensive, as I began to explain to her my concerns she replied "do you want to cancel your loan?, cause I don't have time to go back and forth with you". I never once ever bought up canceling the loan. I asked to speak with her supervisor however he was "busy" she said that he would return my call. I then proceeded to call the customer service, where I spoke to someone by the name of Devin. Devin stated that he refused to speak to me about an unauthorized debt taken off MY card because I was not listed on the loan. Luckily live very close to my sister and was able to get her to speak with Devin. He offered no resolve, instead kept making excuses for Rena. Nina then asked them to cancel the loan. I am waiting on confirmation from Rena Manager Emanuel about putting the unauthorized charges back on my card. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Even when the manager called back he was more concerned about canceling me then resolving the problem and making money for their company. I guess they didn't need our money. That's no way to treat customers. read more

Refi was dragged out to almost 3 months. First agent just stopped communicating, 2nd agent was better but then senior loan officer again made me hopeful that we were closing in a couple weeks only to be given the news after non communication for 2 weeks that they could not do the loan. Wasted time and effort. Their reason for not approving the loan could have been figured out on day 1. So disappointed. They are getting too greedy promising approvals to people only to reneg in the final stages. Pick another company, save yourself the aggravation. read more
