    I sent this text to Mitch Rittenhouse, the owner of Local Motion, Bill Apple, the sales manager, and "Billie", the knuckleheaded office manager tonight. Still waiting for payment for the destruction at our house (one estimate puts it at $8000+), 5 months later. Here's what I sent: I moved 9/21- 5 months ago. We started taking 11/22. The house was brand new from 930 am on 9/21 to 1130am on 9/21. TWO HOURS. It still looks like this, 5 months later. I'll be honest, Mitch, I'm not impressed. Nor do I think I'll ever get a penny out of this until we meet in court. It's a terrible way to run a business. If I were you, because I care about my clients and my reputation, I would've cut me a check a long time ago and had the insurance company reimburse me. I actually have never gotten an apology from anyone for this. Picture yourself, as a brand new homeowner, going through this bullshit and being told that you're gonna get paid. You should be embarrassed. I paid your crap company and the idiots you hired to destroy my brand new house. I'm embarrassed at myself. I wouldn't recommend you guys to any of my clients, to move a cardboard box 2 feet. Cut me a check. Let's get this over with. Have some pride.     If you use this company, I hope you have a good attorney because you are going to need to sue their butt. Per my last review, the star system here is inadequate. I would no longer give this computer a ZERO. We need a negative score at this point. Since my previous review I have been promised several times that we would have an answer on this disaster within a day or two. We have been given multiple promises to "make my mom whole again." We were told that the items that Local Motion 100% admitted were damaged entirely due to their negligence would be replaced promptly. None of this has occurred. They don't even bother to follow up on promised updates. Other than damaging valuable furnishings and family memories the only things this company excels at are lying, delaying, and avoiding responsibility. For two months we have been promised that my mother's items would be replaced promptly. Each time we were told that it was a lie. Clearly local motion has no intent of taking care of the items that were heavily damaged due to their negligent packing of valuable furniture items, including family heirlooms. Repeat: If you use this company, I hope you have a good attorney because you are going to need to sue their butt.

    Movers Arrived late (moved in February 2023) originally booked three movers and only two came. This made us have to stay overnight with no furniture since we were moving out of state and it took all day. My furniture piece was completely shattered and was told to call and they would pay for it. When I called they just gave me some link to file a claim where I wrote in and provided pictures and guess what I heard back? Nothing. They broke over $100 in furniture and really didn't care.

    Scratches on table; table was obviously not wrapped.

    July 2022- Awful service, overcharged and $8000 in damages. Do NOT chance it... it was a nightmare!

    Look elsewhere terrible experience. Took longer than quoted, damaged multiple items. We paid for professionals and got nothing close to it.

    Robert, Max, and Dewayne were a great crew. They arrived on time, and they hustled. We mostly used…read morethem for furniture and a few smaller items, and the cold didn't deter them. Minneapolis moving services are some of the most expensive anywhere I've experienced. I hope that simply means that MN companies pay their labor well. We paid $1365 + $180 tip (optional, but come on) for a 3-man crew at $260/hr (2-hour minimum), and we obviously also provided snacks and drinks (they declined breakfast). For comparison, in San Francisco it was $250/hr for 5 men. The rate was with both the weekday discount and winter pricing. Weekend would have been $285/hr for 3 men, and $345 for 4 men. There was no trip fee. Robert, in particular was incredible; he moved a 6 drawer dresser down a tight stairwell alone. They needed to remove the front door at one point, but did so without issue. They also were happy to use our own furniture pads and plastic wrap (leftover from a cross-country move). At one point, they had to back the huge truck through the alley on icy ground, and had no problems. Also, it was easy to provide them inventory by email, and easy to reach them by phone. Lots of moving companies were annoying to contact, which is partly why we chose this one. One a few minor issues: one piece of furniture was shedding pieces of wood. I think they were reinforcements put on by previous owners. I didn't even know they were there, and it doesn't seem to have affected the furniture. They also forgot a couple of items in the yard, including a big smoker we had to move on our own. It's partly my fault, I told them we were good to go. Also, we were made to sign a lot of paperwork, and at various points it was for things like "you confirm that nothing is broken and everything has arrived" and, like, it's weeks later and I'm still unpacking, there is no way I would have known for sure. It's fine, because so far we have had no issues, but if someone did have issues it might feel like being strong-armed via contract. The guys in the truck were just doing their jobs, so it's the process that is problematic more than anything. We would use these guys again!

The 26 ft truck was completely full and they had to unload in a recent snow/ice storm. The guys were friendly and hard working and my job was not easy.     This was a terrible experience. they sent a guy out to do a work through to review the things I…read moreneeded moved and give me a quote. After being showed the materials to be moved, he didn't make any notes about the items to be moved, yet he gave me a quote. and I agreed on the price. When I talked with the owner Nick about the method of payment, he absolutely refused to accept a cashier's check. He was concerned about the check bouncing. I had to explain to him how cashier's checks worked. On the day of the move, they showed up in a Uhaul, one guy was late, and two of the 3 guys showed up smelling of alcohol. I walked them through the items that we had agreed that were to be moved. They told me that they were on a two hour schedule and some of my things would not be moved. Explained that I was simply paying to have my things moved, I didn't have control over how smart they worked. They called their owner Nick who was extremely unprofessional, apparently the young man who gave me the quote had mistakenly failed to list many of my items. (remember he didn't write anything down during the walk through and had just made up an incomplete list. Even though he had not been present during the walk through, and have not seen for himself what the items to be moved, he swore his employee had not made a mistake,. I tried to reason with him,but he would not relent. I was only going to get 2 hours of work regardless of how fast his crew worked. Well, what kind of work do you think you might get from workers who are inebriated? These guys worked like zombies for two hours and of course didn't get the job completely done, and I was left with a house full of furniture. Nick showed up to view the proceedings, and only made matters worse. Zero people skills. Unwilling to take responsibility for his mistakes. No concern for customer satisfaction. All he was concerned about was getting his money. Because I needed to move right away, I was forced to hire them again to come back the the next day to complete the job. Two guys showed up. One of them screamed like a little girl when he saw a spider in the basement. He immediately got on the phone to ask Nick to cancel the job. Nick wanted the money, so he told the guy over the phone to go back to work. I had to get a broom to scare away the spider (which by the way, I never saw) before he would go back to work. Later, he called Nick again because he thought he saw a mouse turd on the coffee table. I had to use my finger to show him it was just ash. This would have been funny if it wasn't happening to me. Save yourself from this comedy-drama train wreck. Find a more reputable company.
