Worst movers EVER. Listen to me when I say DO NOT hire AAA Movers. I dealt with a guy by the name…read moreof Scott. He was very pleasant and called me several times to make sure I got the quote, if I had questions and eventually he matched our lowest bid from Matt's Moving. In hindsight I wish I had gone with Matt's Moving. I had a couple of friends that recently paid less than 1k to move a 5 bedroom house. I was quotes $1100 from Matt's Moving and Scott from AAA told me they could do it for $1100-$1600. I asked why the $1600, and he said he didn't think it would take that long and that it would be closer to the $1100. All they had to do was pick up my stuff from an inside storage facility. My unit was 10'x25', but I only filled 10'x20'. I moved all of my stuff without breaking anything in 3hrs to this facility back in the summer. My 18 yr old son helped the 3 guys from AAA. He ended up carrying more than half our belongings to the truck while the 3 guys sat on their phones, drank Gatorade and took their sweet ole' time. The moved like sloths. The longer they take the more money they get because you pay by the hour. They wrap ever piece of furniture with plastic and/or furniture pads and tape them up like mummy's. So on the bright side your furniture is well protected, but it is totally overkill. So keep that in mind, they will wrap everything and take their sweet ole time doing it. So I would recommend getting your own furniture pads and wrapping it yourself. one hour of the movers labor would more than pay for your supplies and then some. 4.5 hours later they finally finished loading the truck, but they couldn't get everything, so my son had to pack his car. why...because they bring all of this crap in their truck including a 4'x4'x4' box filled with their supplies...so keep that in mind too. They even left even more of their supplies at storage facility of which I got a nasty call from telling me they were going to charge me for all the stuff they left behind. AAA didn't sweep out my unit, my son did that too while they sat on the truck. Clearly one of the guys never had done this before because he was totally lost. Then the came to my house...nope...they went for lunch. Even though I told them not too. When they finally arrived at my home I only had them bring a few items in the house...about 5 things total and decided to do the rest myself. But they unpacked all of the rest into my garage. But did they do it neatly...nope! They placed furniture and boxes all over, I had to move stuff just to get the furniture out, it was a mess. SO I called AAA and asked what they were going to do about these lazy, worthless movers and very unprofessional workers they sent. They told me they never got a call like this before but from reading the other reviews here it appears this is a common experience. They charged my almost $1600. Then the following day they charged me another $260...I was livid! Worst experience, and the absolutely worse movers. Just so you understand my stuff came from a 2 bedroom 1600sf townhome...so you can see it wasn't even even close to moving a 5 bedroom house...and I moved it out of my townhome and into the facility in 3 hrs. When they finally left they took almost 8hrs...and didn't move hardly anything into my new home. And yes they broke something, and did they clean it up...nope...my son did! They absolutely suck, stay away from AAA movers! Update: SO below is the owners response. Did he address his slow movers, or how long they took, which wasn't part of the initial quote, nor the conversations that I had with the booker, which is that he thought they could do it for $1100. Nor did he address how they broke my stuff and didn't reimburse me for it, or clean it up. Class act is all I can say. Clearly read reviews of this company on legitimate sites. Not their site or their Facebook page where I'm assuming the reviews are fake. But look here, Reddit, and several other review sites...which is other people with similar experiences. BOTTOM LINE...THEY ARE NOT GOOD...PERIOD! That is all you need to know!

Based on the amazing reviews, I was looking forward to hiring a small local business to move us…read more Unfortunately I was less than satisfied. We hired two movers with a truck for an 11 am arrival. We did not hear any confirmation until I reached out at 10 am. They said they wouldn't make it until noon. No biggy. Three men arrived in a U-Haul truck shortly after 12pm, with one making a comment about how he just woke up. I was surprised they sent out three, but know their contract states that they can if they feel its necessary. I was expecting professional, on time, careful, efficient movers based on reviews but received the bare minimum. They dropped several boxes and a small weight set, luckily nothing was broken. They also scratched our new stairway with our crib. Our home was 1 master bedroom with a decent sized nursery and a small office. We had everything boxed and ready to go for them, but they only arrived with one dolly, making the time it took to move things extremely prolonged. We expected the job to take roughly 5 hours, but when the movers arrived, one stated that the load up shouldn't take more than 3 hours! We were ecstatic. Unfortunately that was not the case, as it took them 6 hours, even adding another mover towards the end. I wish I could be empathetic, however the time they spent on their phones was problematic. We sent them home before they finished due to the time lingering on, and after complaining about their service, they asked us to cease communication and have threatened legal action, which we plan to take. They offered a small discount after arguing with my significant other, but told us it expires in four days. I wanted badly for my first experience hiring movers to be great, and I thought that the decent price and reviews were enough to earn my trust. I wish I hadn't. I'm sure many people have had great experiences, but the hostility towards us and the poor service we received makes me second guess the legitimacy of some of the reviews, especially after 10 years of business.

Update, 11/21/24: Lawyer has been retained, claim has been filed. Be extremely careful with this…read morecompany, any decent company would have jumped at an opportunity to make things right - this one passes the buck. Unfortunately, during the move a leak occurred on a fridge that was moved - the company reconnected the power and the water line, returned the fridge against the wall, collected payment and left. Fortunately, I came back the next day to a vacant house to gather anything left behind, and found a wet carpet, a wet bathroom, wet hardwoods, flood ceilings, damaged HVAC, etc. The carpet is ruined, the hardwoods are ruined in numerous areas. I brought this to Tyrell's attention, and it has been brushed off by him numerous times. The company claims that the water line was "done as a courtesy", which I contest - the service was offered, and was paid for. It is estimated that I have $35,000-$40,000 in damages throughout the house. With that said, I'm not mad that it occurred, I understand these things can happen. What frustrates me is that after repeated attempts to gather the companies insurance information, they have refused to provide it. The companies website clearly notates that "We are a professional moving company in Minneapolis with the required licenses and insurance." It is a requirement that moving companies maintain insurance. It is my right to file a claim. The fact that they have been unwilling after numerous attempts to provide an insurance carriers name, let alone a point of contact or policy number, is highly concerning. I have contacted the Attorney General's Office, Better Business Bureau, Department of Labor, and will continue looking for resources to ensure that this is dealt with adequately. The main job of someone that runs a moving company is to deal with customer issues swiftly, and that has not been the case here at all. I would highly recommend doing due dilligence before hiring Tyrell's crew, they are quick to collect payment, but awfully slow to remediate any customer concerns.

Pros: -1 My slot was originally at 8:30a, but with days notice I needed to start earlier, and they were able to move it up to 8am. 2- Each individual I spoke to on the phone when setting up the appointment seemed patient, was helpful, and never came off pushy like movers can (at times). 3- The 3 guys sent were overall respectful. The lead seemed to have his stuff together and knew what he was doing, the other two (who he said were newer) weren't as efficient, but again respectful. Cons: 1- Service was from 8a-11a for the equivalent of a studio. 2- They came 15mins late, the commute between the two locations should have been 15mins but ended up being 30 because they had to stop for gas. Unfortunately when they arrived a garbage truck was now blocking the loading dock so that added another 10mins, and another 5-10mins was lost because toward the end of the job I went to my car and when I returned the lead mover was just standing outside the unit because "the door was locked", which it wasn't. He just didn't use his muscle to push open. So in all, over 45mins of wasted time, which costed me. 3- When I questioned their timing, I was told it's because I had a lot of boxes. To be fair, I did, but they were mainly smaller boxes (like for shipping). If anything i think they dragged their feet to milk the time which is very unscrupulous. 4- Their failure to used a door stopper in the beginning resulted in the unit door being scratched, which one guy tried to convince me was there before . FALSE! Anyway, the damage was shared with CMM, but there was never follow-up. Ultimately, maintenance repainted it. 5- Despite boxes being labeled for the rooms they belonged in, they paid little attention. For example those for kitchen in bedroom. 6- I ended up having to help move the dresser since it wasn't placed where I requested. By the time it was realized 2/3 of guys were at the truck and lead asked if I could help. Since I was paying for the service I would have rather not, but it was easier than having to do it alone later. Perhaps I should send them an invoice. 7- Before they took off, I wanted to just to take a peak at the back of the truck to ensure nothing was left behind. The reception to that request was odd. I mean whats the big deal?! Ultimately I went and ensured. 8- In all the delays costed me and I paid about $300-$400 more than anticipated. Funny thing is the lead kept stressing the whole gratuity thing at the end. I gave them each $20 and the look I got seemed like it wasn't enough. It instantly left me wishing I had given ZERO. My last thing which is more of a suggestion, CMM should consider investing in tees or some branded merch for their staff. Having guys show up in sneaker, crocs, and street clothes really didn't provide a professional look which yes, is possible for movers.
