Went here for the first time on Saturday. It was a really nice place and a bonus that they offered free parking. Of course we had to wait so we got drinks at the bar. Not sure if the bartender was new because she kept asking which one (button) was lemonade. The drinks that we received were not that good. I didn't even finish my drink. The food on the other hand was delicious. I got the birria taco and a small gumbo. The jumbo doesn't look like the pictures online. It did not have crab in it and mines did not have any sausage in it. I was disappointed about that. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of everything. The service was not that great. Our waitress barely checked on us. We sat there for the longest time when we were ready to go because she never even asked if we were ready for the check. I had such high expectations for this place..My ticket did not reflect the value of the food or service.. This was a place I tried as my birthday dinner..Our Ticket was 181.00 but 35 dollars was the typical nickel and dime that black establishment do.. 20% gratuity with just two people, Service charge for ?? We ate on Wednesday paid the 181.91 and then woke up Friday to a 131.91 pending charge for the same dinner.. Whyyyyy!!! My first thought was me and my husband would try again for shots, fish and shrimp but after waking up two days later and seeing the charged my husband card again for 131.91.. We decided it was not worth it.. Now I have to get on the phone to see when this 131.91 will be put back in his account because its a double hit!!! read more

They gave me undercooked fish. Trying to support a black business, I decided to order something else. Which still came out bad and the manager didn't want too take it off my check. I ended up spending over $100 on a meal that didn't satisfy me. My girl enjoyed her shrimp Cajun pasta tho and the atmosphere and waiter was nice. The only negative was when we arrived (11:20a) there was a 30 minute delay in being seated because the kitchen needed to catch up with online orders HOWEVER the staff was very apologetic and nice in there explanation. Our server Shardae was absolutely amazing and very honest in good suggestions. I always appreciate an honest server who will keep it real. Her faves were great and my friends absolute had no complaints on food our her attentiveness. They didn't refill drinks and when I asked to speak with the manager, the manager gave me all attitude and asked her what I wanted her to do, being that I was highly disappointed with the service. First time here and the parking set up is interesting. It's $20 to park so know that. The place is Joan's downstairs. Downstairs bar was full so we made our way up to the second floor. We weren't staring but just wanted to watch the game. He has the gumbo and I had the seafood bisque. Gumbo was ok but the bisque hit on all cylinders. My only thing was there was no bread served with it. I asked for toast but was finished with the soup by the time it came out. The lady next to us has the catfish and mentioned it was good. We went for Sunday brunch around 11am and while there was no free parking at the bottom of the hill we valeted at the top of the hill for $15. I will say there is maybe 10 parking spots available for free parking so don't get your hopes up. Upon entering we were greeted with music and sat in a booth quickly. Side note: if you bring your children/the elderly, the music isn't censored. Our server was Serena and she stayed with a smile on her face, she was great. We used the QR code located on the table and ordered the hot honey wings and fries, cinna-minis, a side of grits, scrambled eggs and an order of catfish and grits. ANOTHER IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: They have an option to upgrade to catfish, the regular order of fish is swai. Personally I don't like swai but I appreciate them for having this option versus just giving me swai and saying it's catfish. Our food came out quickly and I will say our money was well spent. The manger Taylor came out shortly after our food arrived and made sure everything was to our liking. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a place to eat that has hip-hip/R&B music and Cajun food. read more

Went here today for brunch and was extremely disappointed. First, mandatory valet parking on Saturday at 15 dollars (plus service fee if you use Apple Pay)......was seated promptly and encouraged to sit at the bar because they stated they want the bartenders to get tips also. We declined and asked for a table. Immediately asked for a card to put a 25 dollar hold on that will be released in 3-4 business days and is not added to your tab. This is supposedly mandatory and something i had not been asked the last couple times i had been there. Not even sure the reasoning. Our waitress was very sweet and made recommendations. We ordered the brunch burger and the seafood omelet. I asked if it was real crab and was told yes. The food was delivered around 5 minutes after we placed our order. Everything was luke warm to cold. Omelet had a fishy smell and seafood did not taste good. I picked around the plate and only ate the eggs and shrimp. We had ordered drinks which arrived half way through the meal. The drinks were really good. (Cadillac margarita and blueberry lemon drop)....when the bill came we we noticed a service charge added along with an automatic 20% gratuity.! For two people, brunch ended costing a total of 123 for mediocre food. We have been here before and the food was better but this time it needed lots of improvement. I was meeting some people after work and got there first waited to get parked for over 40mins then once inside I was seat ordered everyone a drink to get a phone call that the friends that we're meeting me couldn't even park here! The restaurant is great, drinks looked good and lemonade was delicious! The servers are adorable and the vibe is good but they are missing the parking... I paid ten bucks plus a tip for parking, then the tab for drinks to get up and leave... stinks.
